Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis | 26 January 2018
17 April 2388 - Stardate 2388.107

TBS is zero. The time is 2015 hours (8:15 PM) Aegis local.

All is quiet on the Aegis front, except for three very sick young ladies.

Adriatic’s away team beamed into an underground series of passageways and chambers to investigate the satellite’s possible planet of origin.  The planet was inhabited a thousand years ago, and the crew suspects that the inhabitants were destroyed by massive tectonic activity.

Meanwhile, Adriatic’s helmsman struggled with stationkeeping.  An undetectable force kept pulling the ship into what Ens Jackson called a corridor.  When the away team returned, a strong force prevented the Adriatic from leaving.  Warp one eventually pulled them from orbit, but where they ended up was completely unexpected.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis | 2 February 2018
17 April 2388 - Stardate 2388.107

TBS is 3 days. The time is 0800 hours (8:00 AM) Aegis local.

Aegis received word from Adriatic’s fighter escort that the Adriatic “disappeared.”  Their complete sensor logs have been sent for analysis and the squadron is returning to Aegis.

When Adriatic jumped to warp to escape the planet’s gravitational pull, it was pulled onto a transwarp ribbon, similar to a transwarp conduit except that it is linked by two strong gravitational points.  In a matter of minutes they traveled to the far edge of Alien Alliance space.  They sent an encoded message to Aegis and is now en route at warp 5, ETA 4 days, straight through Alien Alliance Space.

Three young ladies have mostly recovered from their binge in Blubby’s.

The Romulan ships RSE Antius and RSE Chairo are still in Aegis orbit.  They have not been a problem, which is strange and could be a problem in itself.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis | 9 February 2018
20 April 2388 - Stardate 2388.110

TBS is zero.
The time is 0900 hours (9:00 AM) Aegis local.

Adriatic is dodging Alien Alliance Interceptors en route to Aegis through Alien Alliance space, now only a few hours from Federation Space.  Task Force Bravo is at the border, waiting to intercede if needed.

At sim begin, the Interceptors are closing in, and Adriatic is considering ejecting an antimatter pod, which would deplete their supply of antimatter.  Captain Lawliet has an idea, but it could be risky.

On Aegis, RSE Antius and RSE Chairo are still in orbit, but strangely silent.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis | 16 February 2018
20 April 2388 - Stardate 2388.110

TBS is 20 minutes. The time is 1020 hours (10:20 AM) Aegis local.

After several maneuvers by Adriatic meant to destroy or deter the Alien Alliance Interceptors, the Interceptors warp off and take positions between the Adriatic and Federation space.  Strike Force Bravo, led by USS Iowa, waits on the other side.

Meanwhile, The Romulan starships in Aegis orbit are still inexplicably  silent.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis | 23 February 2018
20 April 2388 - Stardate 2388.110

No TBS.  The time is 1120 hours (11:20 AM) Aegis local.

After exhausting every avenue of escape, Adriatic has made it into Federation space, pursued by Alien Interceptors and a massive Battle Cruiser that instantly opened up on Strike Force Bravo.  Strike Force Bravo - an Akira class refit USS Iowa, the Zumwalt class stealth destroyer USS Warren, the frigate USS Tsinghua, and the D’deridex class RSE Praetor— is retaliating.

On Aegis, RSE Chairo and RSE Antius are still in orbit and still strangely silent.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis | 2 March 2018
22 April 2388 - Stardate 2388.112

TBS is 36 hours. The time is 0030 hours (12:30 AM) Aegis local.

The Alien Alliance disappeared after their Interceptors and Battlecruiser postured with a show of force just inside Federation Space.  Damage to Adriatic was not enough to completely disable it.  Damage to Strike Force Bravo was minimal. Damage to one of the Alien Alliance Interceptors, however, was substantial enough to disable it.  Strike Force Bravo has taken it and its crew in tow.

At sim begin, the time is just past midnight.  Adriatic and Strike Force Bravo have returned.  The crew of Adriatic is enjoying a soft bed, clean sheets, and the comforts of home, except for Ens Jackson, who is in the medical complex, recovering from smacking his head against Adriatic’s helm console during the battle.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis | 9 March 2018
22 April 2388 - Stardate 2388.112

TBS is 8 hours. The time is 0900 hours (9:00 AM) Aegis local.

Adriatic is at the shipyard undergoing repairs.   Adriatic’s crew has been quietly transported to Aegis.  Strike Force Bravo, under the command of Captain Jon Kelley, USS Iowa, is in Aegis orbit as a precaution.

All Aegis operations outside of our local area have been ordered to halt until a representative from Fleet Command arrives.  We are informed that “certain actions [during the mission] are being used to further other agendas,” but that “there is nothing to worry about for the moment.”

Starfleet is investigating the incident because something in the area of space that Adriatic was investigating shot the ship nearly 2 sectors away.  While science focuses on how that happened and why, Adriatic’s commanding officer, Commander Lawliet, will prepare to answer questions regarding decisions made while in Alien Alliance space. Captain Ramson does not know the full breadth of what the Fleet representatives’ goals are, but “if they don't find what they're really looking for they will likely find a scapegoat to justify their investigation.”

At sim begin:
~Science has begun an investigation into Adriatic’s surprise two-sector jump.
~The crew has been ordered to keep all information regarding Adriatic’s mission top secret until otherwise notified.
~Commander Lawliet has been ordered to rest.

Adriatic is at the shipyard. Strike Force Bravo is in Aegis orbit.
All operations outside Aegis space are on hold.
Everything pertinent to the mission is classified top secret.
Representatives from Fleet Command will arrive soon.
Captain Ramson has conferred with SubCommander Jorahl regarding the satellite Adriatic retrieved.
RSE Antius and RSE Chairo are still in orbit, and still strangely silent.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis | 30 March 2018
22 April 2388 - Stardate 2388.112

TBS is 15 minutes. The time is 1415 hours (2:15 PM) Aegis local.

SubCommander Jorahl’s investigation reveals that the satellite captured by Adriatic was a defense system that recorded ships and possible threats.  It was probably left there by the original ship 1,000 years ago.

RSE Ma’ev apparently dropped out of warp almost on top of the satellite, and that caused their problem.  Ma’ev’s crew remains on Aegis, with no desire to leave.  RSE Antius and RSE Chairo are still in orbit.

70 years ago, A Federation Oberth class ship launched a series of probes in the region that Adriatic investigated.  There is no open record of a Starfleet ship ever exploring that system or region.  Evidence suggests that they knew exactly what they were looking for. How we proceed with that information remains to be seen.

USS Mason, an envoy transport, is on approach to Aegis, possibly bringing representatives from Fleet Command.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis | 6 April 2018
23 April 2388 - Stardate 2388.113

TBS is 24 hours. The time is 1500 hours (3:00 PM) Aegis local.

Envoy carrier, USS Mason, is docked. Her passengers have been quiet, accessing crew information, presumably to prepare for the onslaught that might or might not come.  No one knows their purpose, but many struggle to put aside assuming the worst.  Thoughts of rigorous interrogation have many on edge. Enlisted personnel have been ordered to the Mason for questioning.

Because she is command staff, Commander Coleridge has read in Commander Kital regarding Adriatic’s capture of the satellite and their encounter with the Alien Alliance.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis | 13 April 2018
23 April 2388 - Stardate 2388.113

TBS is 1 hour. The time is 1700 hours (5:00 PM) Aegis local.

USS Mason has downloaded Aegis’ long range scans, which is action beyond their purview.  They are holding and questioning the navigator of the Polo, a standard Aegis transport ship.  The Polo has been given permission to transport three of RSE Ma’ev’s crew who wish to leave, but Polo’s captain is reluctant to leave without their navigator, who just happens to know every square centimeter of space, up to the Alien Alliance border, and perhaps beyond.

Now we wait.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis | 20 April 2018
24 April 2388 - Stardate 2388.114

TBS is 13 hours. The time is 600 hours (6:00 AM) Aegis local.

USS Mason remains docked with the Federation representatives who should be investigating Adriatic’s mission: how they ended up in Alien Alliance space, how they escaped, and why Strike Force Bravo was called to assist.  Instead, we find them accessing files that do not pertain to the case.  We also notice that someone tried but failed to access the device that Adriatic retrieved.

Meanwhile, Annisha Korjata, Alexis McFarland, and Miana are caught entering a secure docking area and are traumatized by the results.

24 April 2388 - Stardate 2388.114

TBS is 1 hour. The time is 800 hours (8:00 AM) Aegis local.

We become suspicious of the Federation Representatives’ motives regarding interviews with the crew of Adriatic.  Commander Coleridge has reported that personnel interviewed are variously "erratic", "unreliable", "sad", "nearly catatonic", "overly confident", "unreasonable", or just "off".  Department heads report that efficiency is already down on average by about 22%.  Captain Ramson is going to stop the interviews and we are prepared for any retaliation that the Federation Representatives might try.

Mission Brief  and Plot Review| Sky Harbor Aegis | 4 May 2018
24 April 2388 - Stardate 2388.114

TBS is zero.  The time is 900 hours (9:00 AM) Aegis local.

Pieces of the immense puzzle begin to slip into place.

Thirteen days ago, the Romulan warbird, RSE Ma’ev, was pulled into a time loop.  The ship exploded from AQS overload, but the crew was rescued and brought to Aegis.  Their commander insisted that we save the computer core because they had found the path of the Lore Kings clan: a group who left Vulcan over a thousand years ago to take the path of the ancient ancestors.

Adriatic was deployed to investigate the time loop Ma’ev encountered. They were drawn into a conduit, and within seconds emerged on the other side of Alien Alliance space.  They engaged Alien Alliance forces on the way back to Federation space.  Strike Force Bravo met them at the border to assist.

Meanwhile,  RSE Antius and RSE Chairo arrived and began a heated argument over custody of  Ma’ev’s crew.  Our queries to RSE Command remain unanswered.

Then USS Mason arrived with representatives from Fleet Command, purpose unknown but ostensibly to investigate the situation.  They began to interview Adriatic’s crew, but soon probed Aegis’ computer core for information regarding Ma’ev’s discovery.

Their true purpose became clear when the Vulcan, V’Mal, emerged as USS Mason’s commanding officer and threatened us with the Stone of Gol, an ancient weapon that focused telepathic energy. When we refused to assist his cause, a cloud like a creeping darkness moved outward from USS Mason.  A security guard is on the deck in the docking area, lifeless.

Aegis is at silent yellow (to prevent panic on the station).  Strike Force Bravo is in docking orbit, on full alert, awaiting orders.  Task Force Aegis was en route, but is now holding position.  Security is in full force, but has withdrawn from Mason’s docking area.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis | 11 May 2018
24 April 2388 - Stardate 2388.114

TBS is 15 minutes. The time is 1015 hours (10:15 AM) Aegis local.

Starfleet, we have a problem.

USS Mason’s mission has been compromised. Their CO, V’Mal, is holding us captive with the Stone of Gol. Unless we can counter its threat of terror we might not survive.  Seventeen security officers who are schooled in mind control will try to overpower V’Mal and snatch the Stone, but their chances of success are low.

Previously on Sky Harbor Aegis:

We suspected that USS Mason’s mission was compromised, not only because of a garbled message from Starfleet Command, but because whoever was in charge of USS Mason was tapping into Aegis’ database and looking for information way beyond their mission parameters.

After some discussion about why we were holding up their mission, V’Mal threatened us with the Stone of Gol.  Apparently, the stone turns emotion into energy that turns back on its origin. For instance, the stone will pick up on someone’s terror, magnify it, and send it back to whoever was terrified, bringing the person to insanity.

Since our discussion with V’Mal, a dark shadow has rolled through the docking area. It caught a security officer off guard.  He dropped to the deck, appearing lifeless.  The shadow then expanded and affected several other security officers, then stopped spreading but continued to affect everything within 20 meters of the ship.

At Present

The affected personnel are in the medical complex.  V’Mal is holding the navigator of the transport ship, Polo, because they need a good navigator for this area of space.

Aegis is on lockdown and on Red Alert.  USS Mason is surrounded by a containment field. Seventeen mentally and emotionally strong security officers are ready to advance on the ship to rectify the problem.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis | 18 May 2018
24 April 2388 - Stardate 2388.114

TBS is 15 minutes. The time is 1130 hours (11:30 AM) Aegis local.

While V’Mal threatens Aegis with the Stone of Gol, someone aboard USS Mason contacts Aegis control. The message is garbled, so we switch to Morse Code.  Apparently 3 armed personnel are hiding on board.  They say that they might be able to access Aux Control to take back the Mason.  We formulate a plan.

V'Mal seems to be unaware of or unconcerned with the situation.  Use of the Stone requires a great deal of concentration, so if we can overwhelm V’Mal with distractions, the personnel on USS Mason might be able to reach Aux Control.  If they achieve their goal, the security force standing ready outside USS Mason’s docking port could carry out their assault plan and take back the ship.

Unfortunately, before we can move forward, sensors go haywire.  The psychic field emanating from the Mason begins to fluctuate in both radius and intensity. Several more people near the docking port are struck before the field settles back down.  The field has permanently expanded 10 metres in every direction.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis | 25 May 2018
24 April 2388 - Stardate 2388.114

TBS is 5.5 hours. The time is 1800 hours (6:00 PM) Aegis local.

Our effort to contain V’Mal’s psychic abilities broke his concentration enough to allow a coordinated attack.  USS Mason’s crew took over the ship’s Auxiliary Control while Aegis’ security force stormed the ship.   The rogue Vulcan, V’Mal, is now under control and being detained in security.  The Stone of Gol that magnified V’Mal’s formidable concentration is also in security, sealed in a heavy over-budget vault that many believed to be a waste of good latinum. Now we are thankful that it is there.

Dr. Pavilion has been treating those affected by V’Mal’s psychic scream.   The docking services crew will spend the rest o their weekend repairing USS Mason’s docking clamps that were damaged by high frequency resonance.  The rest of us hope that we will have a quiet evening.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis | 1 June 2018
25 April 2388 - Stardate 2388.115

TBS is 11 hours. The time is 0600 hours (6:00 AM) Aegis local.

During a private, unofficial meeting with Commander Coleridge and Captain Chirakis, Captain Ramson revealed that she received both a short official statement from Starfleet Command and a personal message.

The official statement disavows V’Mal as a rogue agent, compromised by Vulcan isolationists. Command considers the matter closed and will pick up the USS Mason and her crew.

Unofficially, Starfleet Command is stymied.  There is no record or memory of clearing the Mason’s mission to Aegis.. There are too many other unanswered questions, including whether V’Mal was working with others, and what will happen to the Stone of Gol. In essence, this situation is far from over.

RSE Antius and RSE Chairo, who were vying for RSE Ma'ev's crew are still in orbit reevaluating their position. We still have not received word from Romulan Command.

For now, almost everyone on Aegis is trying to get back to normal operations.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis | 15 June 2018
26 April 2388 - Stardate 2388.116

TBS is 24 hours. The time is 0700 hours (7:00 AM) Aegis local.

The past 24 hours have been uneventful: a rarity for Aegis.  Of course, we still have the Vulcan V’Mal in high security, the Stone of Gol in a high security vault, and two RSE ships waiting for word from Romulan High Command—or just waiting.  Starfleet is en route to pick up USS Mason and her crew.

While everyone else is slowly returning to normalcy, Captain Ramson, Commander Coleridge, and Captain Chirakis have too many unanswered questions.  Was V’Mal working with others, and if so, with whom?  What will happen to the Stone of Gol?  Why does Starfleet Command have no record or memory of approving USS Mason’s mission to Aegis.

In essence, this situation is far from over.

As the sim begins, things are quiet on the station.  It is Tuesday and the children are scrambling to get to school before they earn demerits,  Captain Ramson and Commander Coleridge have had a fairly good rest, and the commerce deck is slowly coming to life.

RSE Antius and RSE Chairo have departed.  Ma’ev’s crew has decided to remain on Aegis.  Quarters are being arranged for any who want to stay permanently.

Commander Coleridge has called for a plan that will lower security response times, create concrete duty stations, increase the number of station drills, and prevent psychic attacks.

Science, engineering, and medical have been directed to brainstorm creative ways to defend the station against any future psychic attacks.

The Vulcan, V’Mal, is on his way to a correction facility aboard a runabout that is “specifically insulated for the psi-powerful.  Unfortunately we still have the Stone of Gol and Sick Bay is still dealing with a few who were affected by V’Mal’s attack. All departments are collaborating on a plan against psychic attacks.

Meanwhile, the Lore Kings’ conduit is an ever-present concern.

TBS is 6  hours.  The time is 1300 hours (1:00 PM) Aegis local.

Things are slowly settling down to normal.  Command still has a few things to clean up: the status of the satellite that SubCommander Jorahl is examining at the shipyard; the Stone of Gol that still resides in the security vault; and the mental stability of several security officers who were affected by V’Mal’s psychic episodes.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis | 13 July 2018
27 April 2388 - Stardate 2388.117

TBS is 2 hours. The time is 1600 hours (4:00 PM) Aegis local.

As the station settles to a more normal pace, Johnson Kenyon arrives as Midshipman Recruit/Engineering.  He will study under SubCommander Korjata.

Meanwhile, Cdr Cayne and Cpt Chirakis are plowing through information on V’Mal’s accomplices. Cayne identified two of the six and Chirakis identified one, leaving three unknowns.  The one identified by Cpt Chirakis was a protege of Ragor Tal, a brilliant racketeer whose modus operandi is to pit one leader against another, create a void through chaos and infighting, then move in and take over.  The other accomplices seem to be minor profiteers.

The Stone of Gol still resides in a high security vault. SubCommander Jorahl is still inspecting the satellite that was recovered by Adriatic. Whether we decide to further investigate what appears to be the Lore Kings’ transwarp conduit remains to be seen.

Midshipman Johnson Kenyon arrived.  As Midshipman, he will finish his engineering education under SubCommander Korjata.

Captain Ramson has decided to hold off on further transwarp conduit investigations.  SubCommander Jorahl will finish his research on the satellite and prep it for storage.  The Stone of Gol is the next priority.

Lt Cdr Tarisa has begun to explore the properties of the Stone of Gol. Hopefully she will discover the properties used to magnify psychic waves and find a way to disable and/or destroy the stone.
