Rue and Jax have wisely decided to spend the night at the shuttle, warmth, holovids and wine II bet, while our intrepid mountain campers, are stuck about 3.5 miles away up on a mountain in the cold dark night without any of the appropriate supplies.

STSF_BluRox: +COM+ Commander Wydown, do you read?

STSF Seiben: ::building a fire and a crude shelter our of branches and leaves he'd learnt in Academy::

STSF_BluRox: (Heather, you got talking about tea and I think they all went to make some)

Rue Wydown: +Republic+ Right now, we're hoping that you've got a better reading on our missing crew members. ::checking the chrono::

Heather Jamieson: (just sounded good)

STSF Seiben: How you doing Heather? It's gonna be a rough night, but at least we're out of the wind and rain... mostly.

Heather Jamieson: We need more for the fire.

STSF_BluRox: Holly> +COM+ Commander, this is Holly. We were checking on crew readings and noted that your party has become separated. We've also noticed that 2 of your party are showing signs of physical stress, most likely due to the elements. We are still unable to beam anyone up due to the interference

Heather Jamieson: Cold, but fine for now.

STSF_BluRox: Holly> +Com+ IDid you want us to send down more people, or an emergency supply package?

STSF Seiben: I'll go get more branches and sticks.

Heather Jamieson: :: Moves closer to the fire ::

STSF Seiben: ::carefully heads into the woods to grab some more fallen sticks and branches for kindling. Pokes the area with a stick incase of any snakes or other bitey things on the ground.

August Jax Robinson: ::Snores, fallen asleep during the movie::

ACTION> The collected wood, a bit damp due to the nights dampness, make for a bit of a smokey fire, blowing right into Heather's face (because any camper will tell you no matter what side you sit on, smoke is evil and will look for your face)

Heather Jamieson: :: spits :: Blah!

STSF Seiben: (that's true)

Heather Jamieson: :: Moves around ::

@Holly> +com+ Commander, did we lose you? Do you wish us to send them more crew, or any supply packets?

STSF Seiben: ::collects a decent amount of wood and brings it back to the shelter::

Rue Wydown: +Holly+ It's too dark for us go out and try to find them. If you're able to send them an emergency kit, we'll set out in the morning.

August Jax Robinson: {{it is true about the wet wood to lol}}

Heather Jamieson: :: Looks up at the sky ::

@Holly> +Aye Commander, we'll send them something to get them through the night

@Holly> Burke....you have the bridge, I want to go see to the emergency kit myself

STSF Seiben: ::takes out some flavourless protein bars and gives one to Heather:: Here we go.. not exactly gourmet, but at least it's something.

Rue Wydown: ::scratches her head:: So I wonder what made those two decide to keep going last night.

STSF Seiben: ::sighs:: Some first away mission this is for me.

Heather Jamieson: Protein... :: bites into it ::

August Jax Robinson: ::Keeps her eyes closed::: maybe they are lost

Heather Jamieson: Why do you say that?

STSF_BluRox: (Seiben went to get wood, so got a bonus vs smoke in face)

Heather Jamieson: :: Hugs herself to keep warm ::

STSF Seiben: This is the first away mission I've been on. Not only for the Republic.. I've always been on the bridge and never on an away team.

STSF Seiben: (yay!)]

Heather Jamieson: I'm a stellar cartographer, imagine how I feel.

August Jax Robinson: {{yeah, he's dead... or turned into a turtle}}

STSF Seiben: ::nods:: I fly ships

Rue Wydown: They may wish they stayed lost when we find them.

@ Holly> :: Satisfied with the package, shuts the casing and motions for the crewman to load the package and prepare for launch

@Holly> +Burke+ You may launch the emergency package.... :: grins::

Rue Wydown: Want more popcorn? Or are you content to listen to Jaws 41 with your eyes closed?

August Jax Robinson: I'm good, this is the best one of all the Jaws

ACTION: As Sieben and Heather lay on the cold ground, what appears to be a shooting star begins to grow larger.......

Heather Jamieson: We are closer to what we are... look at that. :: Points ::

STSF Seiben: ::looks up:: What's that?

August Jax Robinson: {{it's God Heather}}

Heather Jamieson: (Not Jax upon reentry?)

ACTION> The object appears to be getting closer...quickly

Heather Jamieson: That's heading towards us.

STSF Seiben: ooh

@Holly> (Holly smiled thinking that yes, a torpedo 'was' the fastest way to get a payload to them....wait....she did tell that engineer to take out the explosive......right?)

Heather Jamieson: :: Runs over to Seiben and forces him to the ground :: Hit the....dirt!

STSF Seiben: Oof!

Rue Wydown: I agree, this is the best one.

August Jax Robinson: ::Points:: make a wish, shooting star

ACTION> The object a bright glowing streak whooshes over the camp and inpacts into the ground just beyond where they had build the fire.....but the heat may have given both of our campers a little bit of a sunburn on the way past...

STSF Seiben: I wish... we'll survive the night

ACTION> It hits with a heavy impact and buries it's front end into the soft loam of the forest floor about 15 feet from them....

Rue Wydown: Either that, or that's the care package that Republic sent to the kids.

STSF Seiben: It crashed nearby. I'll go see what that is... that was too close for comfort

August Jax Robinson: isn't that cheating on their part

STSF Seiben: ::heads towards the crashed object::

Rue Wydown: The fact that they need a care package is cheating?

ACTION> Sieben see's that it is indeed a torpedo casing from the USS Republic

August Jax Robinson: we all took Survival 101

STSF Seiben: Ooh. ::looks for a button to open the package::

Rue Wydown: We took it, doesn't mean we survived it ::grins::

Heather Jamieson: A gift from the ship.

Heather Jamieson: Let's pull them all out first.

Heather Jamieson: :: Reaches in and gets them out, handing them to Seiben ::

STSF Seiben: ::takes the packages::

Heather Jamieson: Open the longer one.

ACTION: Seiben opens a package with an inflatable thermal sleeping mat

STSF Seiben: Hmm. Yay we won't freeze to death

Heather Jamieson: Is there another?

STSF_BluRox: (it's a single)

Heather Jamieson: Only one... hmm

STSF_BluRox: (in that package)

August Jax Robinson: ::turns the heat up and grabs a blanket::

Rue Wydown: ::munches on some chips:: Did you join the one match club during survival training?

STSF Seiben: ::opens another larger package::

STSF_BluRox: (lol, rub it in Jax)

ACTION:  Seiben opens a loaf of toasty French Bread

August Jax Robinson: 'of course, I am a Jax, we win

STSF Seiben: We know who it's from

STSF_BluRox: (there are still several more)

Heather Jamieson: Bread? Huh./

STSF Seiben: ::continues opening packages:: Wish we had some butter too

Heather Jamieson: :: Heather opens a square package :: We may have to sleep...close. Since there is only one bed.

STSF Seiben: There might be another one in there

August Jax Robinson: I wonder how long nights are here.?. it could be days or hours

ACTION: They open a few packages of buttered toast, cinnamon toast and even one French toast

and a package with a Mylar thermal blanket

Heather Jamieson: More breads

Heather Jamieson: Oh look. a blanket.

STSF_BluRox: (there are still a few more packages stuffed down in the torpedo)

STSF Seiben: And anther blanket

Rue Wydown: Oh, good question. ::opens up the Star Fleet version of Google to find out::

Heather Jamieson: :: bends down and reaches in the tube... ::

STSF Seiben: ::digs down further into the torpedo tube::

STSF_BluRox: Seiben finds another thermal mat and blanket, a package containing Survival 101..with several pages bookmarked and a pair of waterproof matches....

Heather Jamieson: :: opens another :: We may need to share. Does that bother you? Against some custom or something?

STSF_BluRox: and a box of cinnamon toast crunch

STSF Seiben: (yay! I love Cinnamon Toast Crunch!)

STSF_BluRox: Holly does love her toast

August Jax Robinson: ::Smiles::: Play it again

Heather Jamieson: :: Looks at the box :: How old is that box?

STSF Seiben: I don't mind..

STSF_BluRox: (they have 2 mats, 2 blankets and Heather still wants to share......shame on you....)

Rue Wydown: Looks like 9 hours. Not much different than Earth. ::Frowns:: That's a shame, I was hoping for something more dramatic.

STSF Seiben: (lol)

Rue Wydown: You go it.

August Jax Robinson: {{She goes for everyone!!}}

Heather Jamieson: Aww. two mats. Well, your loss. You seem like a nice guy. :: smiles as she shivers ::

STSF_BluRox: (Next time Holly will let you starve since you complained about her toast).

Heather Jamieson: :: eats a single Cinn Toast Crunch :: Hmm.. lots of sugar.

STSF Seiben: I don't mind toast.. beats protein bars. Hey.. we just met. ::smile::

STSF_BluRox: A smaller torpedo is scheduled to land near the shuttle in the morning, carrying a container of warm pancakes and maple syrup

STSF Seiben: ::brings the stuff back to their shelter and sets up the mats and blankets and toasts::

STSF Seiben: (yay!)

STSF_BluRox: (no no...pancakes are for Rue and Jax)

August Jax Robinson: HA

STSF Seiben: '(lol)

STSF_BluRox: @Holly> +COM+ Commander Wydown, we've sent an overnight survival package and the sensor shows they've received it. They should be fine for the night

STSF Seiben: ::eats a piece of buttered toast:: Hmm, Italian bread?

Rue Wydown: +Holly+ Thanks Holly. Remind me to requisition some brain cells for the next away team.

@Holly> +COM+ When you and the others return to the ship, I've studied some of the readings that you sent back, they make little sense, but may have a bearing on what is occurring there

STSF_BluRox: +Rue+ Aye sir, pleasant dreams. I have a delivery scheduled for you as well in the morning. Sleep well. Republic out

Heather Jamieson: We don't know how cold it will get. We should consider body heat. :: wraps a blanket around her and looks up at the stars ::

August Jax Robinson: ::Giggles, pulls blanket over her head::

STSF Seiben: It shouldn't be so bad now. Yes, we should stick close together to stay warm... I remember that much from survival training.

Rue Wydown: I hope that our delivery isn't something scary. ::snuggles into her blanket::

August Jax Robinson: ::Quotes the movie::: "This is our biggest boat?!

ACTION: The mylar blankets retain the body heat very well when used correctly will keep them adequately warm.

Heather Jamieson: :: Points to the sky :: There's that binary pair we passed the other day.

Heather Jamieson: :: Moves their items back to the fire they had and set up camp ::

STSF Seiben: Ah yes, that's right.

STSF Seiben: ::adds a bit more wood to the fire::

ACTION> The rest of the night passes uneventfully, and the shuttle receives it's morning care package as the day starts......

STSF Seiben: ::Paused::

STSF_BluRox: Ok, campers, feel free to expand upon your nights in the logs if so motivated

Heather Jamieson: We should do that, what say you Seiben?

STSF_BluRox: Any questions or comments for tonight?

STSF Seiben: Sure why not?

Rue Wydown: Nothing from me

STSF_BluRox: Rue, do you or Jax have anything to add with regards to camping?

STSF_BluRox: Okies then. Well, everyone have a great week and we'll see you back next week!

STSF_BluRox: Crew Dismissed!!
