RES TALON MISSION BRIEFING 51711115 - SEASON 22

The Talon is approaching Quatel, not knowing what we will find on the formerly well populated planet. Reports from Justarus informed us that before the Othan attached the Shipyards, they attacked this system, and based some of their operations from here.

[11:18 pm] KhreRiovtRex: Scan the system, any evidence of ships guarding the area?

[11:18 pm] Laehval tTemarr: ::On the bridge, Laehval watched the planet approach and then squinted at the screen beside her, studying the readings coming from the sensors.::

[11:19 pm] KhreRiovtRex: :: sensors had already shown several debris fields of former ships littering the area::

[11:19 pm] STSF Seiben: ::scanning the area:: Initial scans show negative, however they could be under the cover of cloaking devices. I'll start a more comprehensive scan.

[11:20 pm] KhreRiovtRex: Menkha, I'll assume Stinger is doing the same and keeping an eye rhae our back

[11:21 pm] Lerak trPexil: :: Watching cautiously on his display in main engineering as they entered Quatel proper. ::

[11:22 pm] m_k_tksa: :::puttering around in medical, having given up on data search for a bit to save her eyesight::

[11:23 pm] KhreRiovtRex: I would guess that all the communications platforms have been destroyed, Justarus said they had little to no warning of the attacks, and what little warning they did have, said that the Othan had taken possession of this planet, and possibly others.

[11:24 pm] STSF Seiben: ::begins higher level scans, scanning for any energy signatures from any potential cloaking device::

[11:24 pm] KhreRiovtRex: The question is, what is left? People, infrastructure, or will we walk into an Othan outpost...that worries me the most. However, I know how we will deal with that...

[11:24 pm] Lerak trPexil: :: Watching power levels, shields, impulse ::

ACTION: Much of the area space is difficult to get clear readings, due to residual energies from so many destroyed AQS propulsion systems in such a close proximity. However, sensors are not detecting any other ships or stray 'direct' power sources in the surrounding space

[11:27 pm] KhreRiovtRex: Alright, once we're assured that the surrounding space is clear, we should start to scan the planet. See what is left that we are looking at. Power, population, possible weaponry

[11:28 pm] Laehval tTemarr: ::She frowned.:: Navigating this area will be tricky, S'Bien. Sensors are picking up multiple singularities in the area. Taking the ship into one would have... unfortunate... consequences.

[11:29 pm] STSF Seiben: I'm not picking up any signs of ships in the area... indeed. There's already a high amount of residual AQS signatures in the area. Perhaps other ships that traveled in this area didn't fare very well.

[11:30 pm] KhreRiovtRex: More likely, what Galae vessels that were ambushed in this area, and hopefully some of the Othan sskeith as well

[11:30 pm] STSF Seiben: A distinct possibility, ie.

[11:37 pm] STSF Seiben: ::does a quick check:: Negative - it could be due to all the interference due to the AQS signatures or deliberately jammed, though I'm not currently seeing any indication of the latter

[11:43 pm] Laehval tTemarr: ::She nodded at t'Rex.:: In the meantime, we could send a probe toward the planet, programming it to avoid any spatial distortions. It would give us sensor readings while we're navigating this muck.

[11:43 pm] KhreRiovtRex: Fhaen work with the Daise Maenak and make preparations to lead an expedition down. Last reports, there were about 100,000 living on each of the 2 large landmasses here. Several large cities that handled trade for Justarus,

[11:54 pm] KhreRiovtRex: I doubt that they....or rather I hope that they did na use their bioweapon here as well. Their use on the homeworld was to hit a majority of those that were in power. It was na the case here.... granted, there were some, but na like on chRihan

The Enarrain wishes to have a team prepared to beam down to the surface to help aid the survivors -- if there are any. It will be much like the last time, I imagine. Search and rescue and ferret out any Othan spies.

ACTION:: As the probe approaches the planet, it does pick up large congregations of lifeforms, while at the same time, very little with regards to large energy signatures.

ACTION: The same is noted on the other large continent, lifeforms showing in all major population centers, but a noted lack of large energy sources. Some energy is working however.
