"Until Another Day"

Computer, begin recording personal log.

=/\= BEGIN RECORDING =/\=

Well, I am almost through my first day aboard Aegis, and I can safely say I may have joined at the wrong time. With Cardassian going up in smoke, and less than 2 weeks to get all of them off, it is going to be quite difficult to complete the evacuations. We have already had problems.

Docking area 23 had full power loss, and caused a few minute delay on an arriving Starfleet evacuation ship. The entire area for Docking 23 lost power, and even the doors wouldn't open. I believe that an emergency beam-out had to be made for 5 trapped crewman. Other power problems are being reported. The most noted coming from the Holodecks, where, since they are a non-vital system, have been programmed to stop functioning if other systems need additional power. The transporters are also causing power problems, because they are being used constantly for faster loading of the arriving Federation ships. To my knowledge, this much power has never been used on Aegis at any one time in it's near 2 year history.

Luckily, since Engineering is near the bottom of the Aegis pythons, we don't get many visitors. People don't just 'stop in' for a visit, since traveling to it is out of the way of everything.  Even the Captain has contacted me, just to make sure we have the available power to handle everything. I believe that the Holodecks, and also uninhabited areas of the ship, will have to be powered down. Dilithium does not come often out to Aegis, but hopefully this will change in the next few days. We definately need more power than what we have, especially if we want the lights to stay on. I'll have to talk to the commander about that, but I believe that it will be a long 2 weeks. I still haven't found out where we are going after the two weeks, but hopefully, I will find out.

It is going to be a very long couple of weeks.

Computer, end recording. Save file. Password encrypt the file. Close program.
