Sky Harbor Aegis | 20 October 2017

=/\= Aegis Mission Brief 10/20/17 - 10:06 PM=/\=
13 April 2388 - Stardate 2388.103

TBS is 2 days. The time is 1300 hours - 1:00 PM Aegis local.
The Ma'ev could be trapped in a temporal fold anchored to a malfunctioning AQS.
The away team has been working on a solution.
At sim begin, they will meet in the conference room.

=/\==/\=BEGIN SIM=/\==/\=

Fletcher Jackson: ::OPS:::
Dacia Sandero: ::in Sickbay, probably::
Jylliene: % ::cabin by the lake::
Lawliet: ::walking into the conference room with a PADD::
Chirakis: :::CnC, covering for Scott and the captain:::
mimipavilion: ::in the conference room::
Tarisa: ::On CnC, at the SCI console.::
KelsaViegnor: ::at the shop, training Thelea::
Alexis McFarland: ::somewhere... with Miana and Annisha::
Kallah Ramson: ::in conference room, gazing out a window::
Chirakis: ::Tarisa:: Any change in status for the Ma'ev?
Jylliene: % ::exhales in relaxation::
Lawliet: ::sits in his chair::
mimipavilion: ::already sitting in her chair::
Tarisa: ::Shakes head.:: Not at the moment. It seems stable.
Chirakis: ::satisfied nod as she monitors the tactical board:::
Kallah Ramson: Jorahl> ::enters the conference room. moves to a spot in the corner....watching::
Kallah Ramson: ::turns from her contemplation and steps towards the table:: Let's begin. ::takes her seat::
Kallah Ramson: Science, what do we know?
Chirakis: ::her eyes follow the SubCommander as he enters the conference room, his presence taking her back several years:::
KelsaViegnor: ::allowing her to try several scents, to learn about the shop's offerings::
Chirakis: ::deep breath:: Mr. Jackson, keep the corridors clear as a precautionary measure.
Alexis McFarland: ::sucking on a jumja candy::
Lawliet: ::looks over at Ramson:: After a more detailed analysis, I believe the Ma'ev may have encountered a temporal anomaly and it was "snagged" by the AQS.
Fletcher Jackson: Yes, ma'am. Corridors are clear and will be until the restriction is lifted.
Tarisa: ::Continuing her periodic subspace scans of the ship and surrounding areas.::
Chirakis: ::she begins to pace her normal route around CnC:::
Kallah Ramson: Do we have a theory on how to free them and rescue the crew?
Dacia Sandero: ::treating patients that came in as well as checks on the various samples and other things they have::
Tarisa: Miana> ::Enjoying her candy.:: Mmm...
Gila Orrak: % Nijil> How are you feeling?
Alexis McFarland: ::unwraps another piece of candy and pops it into Annisha's mouth::
Jylliene: % More relaxed than I thought I could possibly feel.
Lawliet: In the past 48 hours, I've been working on a method to collapse the anomaly...but it's untested.
Kallah Ramson: What are the risks?
mimipavilion: ::listens::
Gila Orrak: % Nijil > Like the pains of the universe are light years away?
Jylliene: % Very much so.
Lawliet: Worse case scenario, the anomaly expands at an alarming rate to a degree that it will eventually consume everything within 1.2 light years....give or take a parsec.
Kallah Ramson: ::wince:: Let's try to avoid that.
KelsaViegnor: ::continues the training process::
Gila Orrak: Cayne > :: On the bridge of the ship ::
Kallah Ramson: What would this involve?
Alexis McFarland: ::pets Annisha's head::
Tarisa: Miana> ::Giggles::
Gila Orrak: Annisha > Au giggle a lot Miana..
Alexis McFarland: It's cute
Tarisa: Miana> I can not help it.
Alexis McFarland: How's your candy, Annisha?
Lawliet: ::nods:: It involves installing several prototype resonators throughout the ship. They would send out tachyons that would work along side with the resonance pulses we would trigger.
Chirakis: ::in her pacing, she stops by Cayne, at the TAC console:: Anything new?
Lawliet: This would, in theory, collapse the anomaly and return the crew to the normal flow of time.
Fletcher Jackson: ::keeping busy with the routine in-house things that he should pass on to a minion, but hasn't learned that yet:::
Kallah Ramson: Jorahl> And if the frequency is wrong you will increase the effect.
Lawliet: ::to Jorahl:: Exactly, but that's not the main problem.
mimipavilion: ::Lawliet:: Then what is?
Tarisa: ::Ears go in radar mode as she watches Chirakis pace.::
Lawliet: The AQS. In order to the resonators to work, the AQS can't fluctuate. If the power levels change too much, it will create a catalyst that I won't be able to overcome.
Kallah Ramson: Jorahl> Then we have a problem.
mimipavilion: ::leans back in her chair:: Oy!
Kallah Ramson: Jorahl> The scans we took showed the Ma'ev to be working with an AQS that should have already been replaced. It's age is probably why it attracted this anomaly in the first place.
Gila Orrak: Cayne > These power sources are very tricky.
Lawliet: ::looks around the table:: Is there a way to momentarily stabilize the AQS?
Chirakis: ::in her third pace around CnC, she stops at Tarisa's console and says absently:: Any thoughts that would benefit the discussion going on behind closed doors?
Kallah Ramson: Jorahl> There are but they do have their own risks.
Chirakis: 10:30 PM
Lawliet: Seems to be a reoccurring theme.
Kallah Ramson: Jorahl> Increasing the mass of the unit will decrease power generation. The system is then easier to regulate.
Tarisa: ::Shakes head.:: Chief Lawliet brought his plan to me for ideas. Everything was solid, save for engineering issues that are beyond me.
Chirakis: ::hums as she nods:::
mimipavilion: ::pauses:: Apologies, since I'm more a doctor than an engineer or scientist, but how long would the AQS need to be off in order for this to work?
Chirakis: He *does* have a wealth of knowledge beyond most of us.
Tarisa: ::Nods in agreement.::
Kallah Ramson: Jorahl> Less a matter of being off, than being at a nice idle.
mimipavilion: Ok how long do we need to idle it
Chirakis: However, it seems strange to me that the crew of Ma'ev can be in the time fold but the Aegis team not be affected. But then...::she turns to Tarisa:: that is why I am not a scientist.
Tarisa: ::Smiles, choosing wisely not to respond verbally.::
Kallah Ramson: Jorahl> But the control matrix develops as an AQS ages. Simply reverting it to a previous state by adding mass can cause that matrix to expand the singularities event edge, consuming the whole ship.
Chirakis: ::chuckles::
Kallah Ramson: Jorahl> ::looks to lawliet::
Chirakis: It doesn't take a telepath to know what you are thinking. ::she moves on, still semi-smiling:::
mimipavilion: ::is definitely out of her league and it kinda shows::
Chirakis: (often the simplest questions are the ones that the experts overlook, Doctor)
mimipavilion: (yes indeed)
Lawliet: ::looks back at Jorahl:: Is it possible? To stabilize the AQS? I don't care about the percentage.
Tarisa: ::Tilts her head curiously as continues to monitor the console.::
Kallah Ramson: Jorahl> I can stabilize the system for 10 minutes, 15 if the resonators don't overload the matrix.
Chirakis: ::stops to check the tactical readout and is satisfied that the corridors are clear::
Lawliet: ::nods:: It can work. It be tight...but it would work.
Kallah Ramson: Do we have any other viable options besides this plan?
Chirakis: ::and she is still puzzled, especially how the ship can be visible and its crew essentially invisible:::
Lawliet: ::looks around the table as to offer anyone else who might have an idea::
Chirakis: ::the ship's structure vs the biological nature of the crew?::::
Kallah Ramson: ::looks around:: I see.
Gila Orrak: :: Gila noticed Cayne was tense. He was out of his element on the technology, only able to offer big picture suggestions and just about that much understanding. ::
Kallah Ramson: ::mimi:: doctor, with all the risks they've talked about i'm expecting a lot of the crew could suffer some form of temporal shock coming out of the loop.
Kallah Ramson: ::over towards the security types:: and with the risk of the AQS exploding OR imploding we are going to have to evacuate the ship quickly.
Gila Orrak: Cayne > :: He was getting worried the ensign studied him closely. She'd not likely guess who he was, but every time she looked him up and down he wondered if he was giving himself away ::
Kallah Ramson: So we will be dealing with an injured and dazed crew who have to be moved with all due haste. can you come up with a plan for this?
mimipavilion: ::thinks for a moment:: We'll need an emergency site-to-site transport of some kind.
Kallah Ramson: ::nods::
Kallah Ramson: ::Lawliet:: how long to prepare the resonators?
Gila Orrak: Cayne > We could do a multi beam out all at once, but the closer the ship is to Aegis the better.
Lawliet: I'll need Engineering to produce approximately 78 resonators. Shouldn't take more than a few hours.
Chirakis: 10:50 PM
Kallah Ramson: Jorahl> send the plans to the shipyard and we'll begin replication.
Lawliet: ::nods:: Doing so now. ::picks up his PADD and relays the information::
Gila Orrak: :: Gila heads out on Cayne's nod ::
Kallah Ramson: Station engineering will work on increasing transporter capacity. But beaming the entire crew at once won't be possible.
Kallah Ramson: Aegean and Apnex will have to stay clear because of their AQS systems but the Adriatic can assist.
mimipavilion: True Captain, just remembered that we do have emergency tagging avaliable, will need to have medical and security to do that.
Kallah Ramson: ::nods::
mimipavilion: Will get all tags ready and divide them up between personal.
Kallah Ramson: Make those arrangements and have your crew and gear transferred to the Adriatic.
mimipavilion: ::nods::
Kallah Ramson: Let's get this all together and be prepared to start the operation in 4 hours.
Chirakis: ::stops to stare at the tactical board:::
Chirakis: ::then her gaze shifts to the empty corridors, which triggers the thought that commerce is at a standstill:::
Chirakis: 10:55 PM
Kallah Ramson: Anything else?
Gila Orrak: Cayne > This station can't beam them all at once? How many transporters do we have?
Kallah Ramson: <while we haven't said, i'm figuring this is a D'Deridex class warbird. were talking a crew of over 1000>
Chirakis: 10:58 PM
Kallah Ramson: Not enough for a ship that size. We can press some civilian ships to aid as well as the task force ships. But speed will still be needed.
Kallah Ramson: ::looks around:: okay then. let's get to work.
Chirakis: =/\==/\=PAUSE SIM=/\==/\=
Chirakis: =/\==/\=PAUSE SIM=/\==/\=
Chirakis: 10/20/17
Chirakis: Thank you.
Chirakis: Captain, TBS?
Kallah Ramson: Let's go with 4 hours, just in time to start the operation.
Chirakis: 4 hours it is. Comments for the crew?
Kallah Ramson: none
Chirakis: From the crew?
Chirakis: Seeing none...
Chirakis: Crew dismissed. Be well. Be Safe. Don’t forget your towel.
