USS REPUBLIC MISSION BRIEFING - 51708.21 - Season 25

After meeting with Jax and Rue, and being unable to calm Jax down, Blu's decided she needs a few extra hours to think about her situation. In the meantime, she had sent a proposal to briefly meet with Lt Medley before heading back into the Review Board to deal with Kasuga.

STSF_BluRox: I am proposing, that if she were to plea guilty to dereliction of duty, and not gross negligence, we would be willing to give her a general discharge

STSF_BluRox: This would keep her from doing any jail time, and she would still be eligible for veterans benefits. it would also help her get another employment in civilian life. She would have to requalify for her pilot's license.

Rue Wydown: Of course I care what happens. But I also know that actions have consequences. Being mindful of what you do is important. It's the difference between coming home from a mission or our families getting letters from Admirals like Calvert that we're not coming home. I don't think Kasuga did anything on purpose, but she needs to be able to explain what happened.

STSF Seiben: Kasuga> I know sir. I know you wouldn't do that to your crew. At least I wouldn't get any jail time.

STSF_BluRox: Yes sir. We have accepted a plea deal from Lt Ayumu Kasuga. At call, is the following which was agreed upon. That she would plead guilty to a charge of dereliction of duty, and for doing so, we recommend a general discharge. Due to circumstances and being in good standing, with just a few previous deviations for the same type of inadvertent action, we recommend that she also forfeit her pilot's license at this time.

Randy Calvert: :::glances down at the PADD reviewing the revised charges:::

STSF_BluRox: :: hopes he'll accept these items as they had discussed earlier, and that he didn't' feel she was going to soft on her crew member::

Randy Calvert: Lt Kasuga... even with these modified charges, by accepting them, you would be pleading guilty to a crime and be separated from the fleet. You would lose your pilot license until which time you might requalify for it.

Randy Calvert: Do you understand the revised charges and the terms of settlement?

STSF Seiben: I do, your honour.

Randy Calvert: Do you accept those terms, Lieutenant?

STSF Seiben: I accept these terms.

STSF_BluRox: :: sighs a little inwardly, but shuts her eyes, hating that she had been put in the position to do this to one of her crew members::

Randy Calvert: I also do not have objections to the revised charges. Therefore, I accept your revised guilty plea.

Jas: Jas> :: shakes his head slightly to himself ::

Rue Wydown: Lt Medley:: still waiting for Kasuga to say something crazy, like she's embezzled millions of latium bars and invested in hummus::

Randy Calvert: :::pauses for a moment::: I hereby revoke your pilot license effective immediately. This finding does not preclude you from earning the right to sit in a pilot's seat again however.

STSF_BluRox: :: opens her eyes and looks back up at Calvert, relieved that he accepted the plea deal as well::STSF

 

Seiben: Kasuga> ::almost says something of the time she jaywalked once, but thinks better of it::

Randy Calvert: In addition, I hereby order your discharge from Starfleet, effective immediately. This will be a general discharge.... not a dishonorable discharge. You shall retain your rank and any benefits earned to date.
