Captain's Log - 0310.03

Captain Frederic Meve

Rattling. It was the only word to describe the condition of almost everything in the Captain's quarters. From the glass table, to padds on the desk, to even the model of a Constellation Class Cruiser sitting near a window, everything was shaking. While it wasn't violent in nature, it was enough to have already caused several things near an edge to fall to the floor. Luckily, most had been reports and nothing important.

Glaring out the window, Frederic Meve sat with a now empty glass of Denebian Wine. It had been a beverage the local Ferengi Ambassador had gotten him hooked after his arrival. To the drink's credit, it tasted much like an ale almost never found off of Andoria. Behind the blue skinned man sat an empty bottle of the purple colored liquid, with the last few drops rippling as the table moved.

The cause of the rattling wasn't a major scientific mystery, but probably had more to do with the fact the volume control for the music currently playing was sitting at fifty times it's regular level. The selection itself, an instrumental piece Meve had been fond of since the age of twelve, blared over every speaker built into the ceiling to the point of strain. Yet, Meve simply stood looking out the window with the empty glass in his right hand.

It had been well over twenty hours since Ensign Mogg's....correction....Midshipman Mogg's courts-martial had concluded. The entire situation had forced the Andorian to perform duties he never really cared for, or expected. Furthermore, complications from the hearing seemed to have created even more problems he was now going to have to face.

Meve glanced upwards for a moment and then slowly set his drinking glass down on the vibrating table. Approaching a desk, he gently pressed the control panel and abruptly terminated the music. The Captain then pressed another button, while grabbing a padd sitting on the desk. "All department heads, report to the main conference room in ten minutes," he said dryly. Looking at the document he now held, he only shook his head and looked back at the glass he'd let go several minutes before.
