Lawliet: $ ::on the bridge:: Mr. Jackson, eta?
Alexis McFarland: ::eating a taiyaki with her friends::
Tarisa: $ ::On the bridge at the SCI station.::
Jylliene: ::CnC, ops::
Dacia Sandero: $ ::in Sickbay::
Tarisa: Miana> Mmmm... ::Tail doing happy dance.::
Fletcher Jackson: $ ::tap..tap::: Approaching the system, sir. Five minutes for entry.
Tarisa: $ ::Watching the probe feed.::
Kallah Ramson: ACTION> Probe data showing a mostly burnt out central star. Husks of a few planets remain. AND, a strange gravitational source in orbit of one of the remaining planets.
Lawliet: $ Understood. ::turns his chair to science:: What do we have from the probe Commander Tarisa?
Alexis McFarland: ::holds out a bag full of taiyaki to Miana::
mimipavilion: ::finishing up with a patient who had dislocated their knee:: You are relieved of duty for the next week. Come back at the end of the week and well see about light duty, ok.
Scott Coleridge: $::also on the bridge, keeping an eye on everything::
mimipavilion: ::the ensign nods:: yes ma'am.
Dacia Sandero: $ ::busies herself in the Aegan's sickbay::
Chirakis: ::enters CnC, after her discussion with Garand:::
Kallah Ramson: ::in her office, catching up on paperwork::
Jylliene: ::nods greetings to Chirakis:: Ma'am.
mimipavilion: ::has a nurse escort the ensign to his quarters via wheelchair::
Chirakis: Chief of the watch, I have the con. ::nods:: Commander.
KelsaViegnor: ::pleased with how well the new line is doing, sends another happy client on their way::
Fletcher Jackson: $ Coming into the system.
mimipavilion: ::makes a note in the ensigns chart::
Chirakis: ::logs into her console:::
Tarisa: $ ::Frowns:: This system is mostly dead... ::Keeps looking over the data, pauses:: But I am getting gravitational reading in orbit of one of the planets.
Lawliet: $ Which one?
Jylliene: ::in the back of her mind, a bit concerned about the upcoming arrival of her parents::
Chirakis: ::Jylliene:: Do we have a live connection to Aegean, Commander Kital?
Chirakis: ::turns to check the main tac screen:::
Tarisa: $ The fourth one.
Nijil tr'Korjata: (test)
mimipavilion: ::since medical is pretty much quiet, tells one of the doctors their in charge and goes to the CnC via tl::
Lawliet: $ Very well. ::turns forward:: Mr. Jackson, bring us out of warp and adjust heading for the fourth planet.
Jylliene: No, not live.
Chirakis: Can you establish a live connection?
Kallah Ramson: ::ponders if she should of informed Scott about the holographic diagnostic program she has installed on Aegean. ::
mimipavilion: ::arrives on the CnC a short time later::
Scott Coleridge: Are our readings consistent with the telemetry of the probe that preceded us?
Chirakis: ::hears the lift doors::turns, nods::: Doctor.
Alexis McFarland: Nummy nummy ::eats her taiyaki, which is still warm::
Jylliene: Not at this distance, no, ma'am.
Chirakis: Thank you, Commander Kital.
Jylliene: My pleasure.
Cdr Wyatt Cayne: $ :: At tactical ::
Chirakis: (Greetings, Cdr Cayne)
Gila Orrak: $ :: In security ::
mimipavilion: ::nods:: Captain
Fletcher Jackson: $ Holding steady at warp 5.
Fletcher Jackson: $ ::notes a little bit of turbulance:::
Fletcher Jackson: *turbulence
Scott Coleridge: $ Are our readings consistent with the telemetry of the probe that preceded us?
Jylliene: ::watching display of the area with Aegean's and the probe's locations highlighted::
Fletcher Jackson: $ We are following the probe's telemetry, Captain.
Tarisa: $ :;Nods.:: Yes Captain.
Lawliet: $ ::moves forward:: Mr. Jackson, bring us out of warp and adjust our course.
Fletcher Jackson: $ Aye, Sir. Dropping from warp. Course adjusted to compensate.
Lawliet: $ ETA to orbit of the fourth planet?
Fletcher Jackson: $ ::slips them back into the probe's trajectory:::
Fletcher Jackson: $ Eta to 4th planet is 7.5 minutes, sir.
Dacia Sandero: $ ::feels the ship drop to warp:: Ahh, finally.
Chirakis: ::uneasy feeling:::
Chirakis: ::and it shows in her expression:::
Lawliet: $ Understood. ::returns to his chair::
Alexis McFarland: ::feeds one to Annisha:: Ahh... yummy!
Cdr Wyatt Cayne: $ :: Wishing there was a seat ::
mimipavilion: ::notes the expression and goes and stands by Chirakis::softly:: Problems ma'am.
Chirakis: ::slow turn:: Should there be, Doctor?
Kallah Ramson: ::steps out of her office and onto the CnC::
Annisha: Mmmm
mimipavilion: No, just thought I should ask.
Lawliet: $ ::turns his chair:: Commander Tarisa...compare our sensor readings to those of the probe and identify any irregularities.
Jylliene: ::nods to Ramson and smiles::
Kallah Ramson: ::nods::
Jylliene: ::returns attention to the display::
Chirakis: ::nods to the captain, then speaks quietly to Mimi:: They are young, and many are inexperienced, Doctor. I am concerned.
Chirakis: :::leaves out her discussion with Garand:::
Fletcher Jackson: $ Approaching the 4th planet. One minute to orbit.
mimipavilion: Understood. ::smiles a bit:: I'm sure there was time you were concerned during a mission, not saying that I recall any issues.
Tarisa: $ ::Nods and begins a comparison::
Chirakis: ::nods again, with a semi-smile::
Lawliet: $ ::turns forward:: Mr. Jackson, put the planet on visual.
Fletcher Jackson: $ ::tap...tap:: On visual.
Lawliet: $ ::looks up on the main viewer::
Scott Coleridge: $ Are the gravitational readings coming from the planet, or from something in orbit of the planet?
Fletcher Jackson: $ Acquiring orbit. Geosynchronous or standard?
Gila Orrak: $ :: Reading up on protocols ::
Jylliene: ::watches as the blip representing the Aegean on the display approaches orbit::
Kallah Ramson: ACTION> 4th planet. a rather unremarkable piece of charcoal floating in space
Annisha: :: Eating ::
Alexis McFarland: ::Drinks her drink::
Tarisa: $ I am seeing no irregularities.
Lawliet: $ Until we have a better understanding of what we're picking up, standard will do Mr. Jackson.
Fletcher Jackson: $ Aye, sir. Standard orbit.
Tarisa: $ They are coming from orbit.
Scott Coleridge: $ Can you isolate a more specific location?
Nijil tr'Korjata: :: working ::
Chirakis: 10:30 PM
Scott Coleridge: $ ::Cayne:: Raise shields, just as a precaution.
Lawliet: $ ::taps his console and brings systems to condition yellow::
Chirakis: ::Kital:: What is the communication delay from their position?
Cdr Wyatt Cayne: $ Aye, raising shields.
Jylliene: Twenty minutes.
Kallah Ramson: ::glancing at the status boards while trying to do her work::
Dacia Sandero: $Hmm.
Chirakis: ::mutters:: Twenty minutes.
Tarisa: $ ::Pinpoints the source.:: It appears to be parallel to the North magnetic pole. ::Forwards to helm.::
Scott Coleridge: $ ::Lawliet:: Send a message to Aegis letting them know that we have arrived in system and isolated the anomaly to the fourth planet. Include a copy of our sensor readings.
Fletcher Jackson: $ :::catches the position::: Received coordinates.
Dacia Sandero: $ ::sits in the chair in the small medical office, relaxes a bit::
KelsaViegnor: ::recalls her days in SF, and wonders how much has changed since her retirement::
Scott Coleridge: $::Jackson:: Sounds like we should move into a polar orbit.
Fletcher Jackson: $ Polar orbit, Aye.
Annisha: I need more practice for the bonding.. :: eats ::
Lawliet: $ Aye sir. ::sends message and readings to Aegis over subspace::
Alexis McFarland: Practise the ukulele?
mimipavilion: (don't get too comfortable Dacia)
KelsaViegnor: ::Uniform styles seemed to lack a certain something these days, certainly.::
Dacia Sandero: (enjoy it when I can lol)
Chirakis: :::wondering why Ramson was ordered to stay on Aegis:::
mimipavilion: (lol)
Lawliet: $ ::finishes with his message and turns to Tarisa:: Any irregularities Commander?
Fletcher Jackson: $ Polar orbit achieved. Going to Geosynch.
Jylliene: ((Other than that SF was probably having conniption fits about the station captain going out on away missions? ))
Chirakis: (good point)
Tarisa: $ ::Shakes her head.::
Gila Orrak: $ :: Gets her phaser ready for her first patrol around the ship ::
Lawliet: $ ::nods at Tarisa::
Chirakis: ::also wonders why Orion was ordered to enter and her captain refused:::
Gila Orrak: $ :: Turns right as she exits the door, nods to a crew member ::
Kallah Ramson: ACTION> Closer Aegean gets towards the polar regions, the ride gets a bit bumpy as the gravitation fields become more chaotic. Also, sensor readings from the planet actually become clearer, revealing more complex mineral deposits under the charred surface
Scott Coleridge: $ Is the gravitational anomaly creating any strange EM readings as well?
Fletcher Jackson: $ We're getting a bumpy ride, Captain. Gravitational fields are wonky.
Fletcher Jackson: $ I'm going to have to use manual control if it gets any worse.
Lawliet: $ ::holds onto his chair:: Mr. Jackson, can you compensate for the gravitational turbulence?
Fletcher Jackson: $ Attempting to, sir.
Fletcher Jackson: $ ::searches the board for elements that are not present on most SF vessels::
Jylliene: ::watches the blip on the display circle the planet:: About ten minutes until the anticipated update from the Aegean to reach us.
Chirakis: Thank you, Commander Kital.
Jylliene: ::nods::
Fletcher Jackson: $ ::looking for one that says "use this when the ship is out of control":::
Tarisa: $ :;Checking.:: The gravitational field is becoming more chaotic as we approach. ::Gets a beep.:: But I am getting clearer readings on the surface. A vast array of mineral deposits.
mimipavilion: ::watches the screen::
Chirakis: ::next to Mimi:: It's the waiting that is the worst.
mimipavilion: Oh I know the feeling.
Chirakis: ::arms cross:: I often wonder what it was like to be in battle and have to wait several weeks for information.
Scott Coleridge: $::Jackson:: I think this is close enough. Keep us in a geosync orbit here; increase our altitude if needed.
mimipavilion: That part I don't know.
Scott Coleridge: $::Tarisa:: Any speculation yet as to whether the gravitational effects are natural or artificial?
Fletcher Jackson: $ Aye, Captain. Attempting geosynch.
Chirakis: I understand that early earth wars used something called "radios" to get information to and from the field. And before that, they used runners.
mimipavilion: That I do remember from my history classes
Chirakis: ::nods::: And apparently that is where a contest was named a Marathon, for a runner who ran so many miles to deliver information that he died as soon as he delivered it.
Chirakis: I cannot imagine living in that world.
Tarisa: $ ::Ponders:: It is possible that it could be natural, but odds do seem more in favor of artificial. I will have to make an in depth scan.
Fletcher Jackson: $ Moving to higher orbit, Captain. Turbulence is... well... bad.
Dacia Sandero: $ ::holding on::
Chirakis: ::Kital:: Nothing yet?
mimipavilion: ::thinks:: the marathon? I don't think that what marathons were, I thought they were more like the decathlon at the academy.
Scott Coleridge: $::Jackson:: Acknowledged. Keep using your judgment. No sense in taking on additional risk to the ship until we know more about what we're dealing with here.
Scott Coleridge: $::Tarisa:: Can you do that without taking us in closer?
Jylliene: Getting to the beginning window of time for the update.
Chirakis: ::Mimi:: It was a runner who came from Marathon to ... Athens? I don't quite recall.
Tarisa: $ ::Nods:: With a few quick tweaks.
Chirakis: Delivering a message.
mimipavilion: ::shrugs::
Kallah Ramson: ACTION> Scans of the planet showing planet wide circular mineral deposits, various rings of circle at different latitudes.
Jylliene: ::glances over to Ramson::
Tarisa: $ ::Sets up the sensors.:: I will need more power to the forward arrays.
Jylliene: ::console beep:: Update is here.
Kallah Ramson: Put the data on the main viewer.
Cdr Wyatt Cayne: $ :: Looks ::
Jylliene: They're in orbit. The anomaly is there, around the fourth planet ::indicates on the viewer:: Sensor logs are included.
Chirakis: 10:55 PM
Lawliet: $ +ENG+ Bridge to Engineering.
Kallah Ramson: ACTION> scans of the gravitational anomaly are....chaotic.
Jylliene: ::sends sensor readings to science, Chirakis, and Ramson:: Sensor data forwarded.
Fletcher Jackson: $ ::having a hard time with stationkeeping:::
Kallah Ramson: ::looking the data over:: So far consistent with what's on file.
Cdr Wyatt Cayne: $ :: grimaces ::
Chirakis: ::somewhat relieved::
Scott Coleridge: $ Lt T'Paun> +Bridge+ Engineering here.
Lawliet: $ +T'Paun+ We need additional power to the forward sensor array.
Tarisa: $ ::Trying to compensate.:: It is becoming difficult for me to get readings.
Tarisa: $ ::Works to modulate frequencies.::
Chirakis: 10:58 PM
Scott Coleridge: $ T'Paun> +Bridge+ Acknowledged. Diverting power from secondary systems.
Lawliet: $ ::looks over at Tarisa:: Commander, any luck?
Fletcher Jackson: $ ::holding as steady as he can:::
Scott Coleridge: $ ::Looking at the rings of mineral deposits:: Such an interesting dispersal.
Kallah Ramson: ACTION> the anomaly "wobbles" suddenly, swinging gravitation waves outward.
Tarisa: $ I am trying. ::frowns.::
Fletcher Jackson: $ Whoa...
Gila Orrak: $ :: Feels funny ::
Lawliet: $ ::looks up::
Cdr Wyatt Cayne: $ Grrrr
Scott Coleridge: $::feels the ship shuddering:: Take us out into a much higher orbit for now.
Annisha: :: breaks out her banjolele ::
Fletcher Jackson: $ Moving to higher orbit, aye.
Dacia Sandero: $ Whoa.. ::braces herself:
Scott Coleridge: $ So far all we have are more questions. Let's come up with a plan before we go looking for the answers.
Alexis McFarland: oooh!
Kallah Ramson: Looks like Aegean is moving into a polar orbit towards the source. ::deep breath::
Fletcher Jackson: $ Maximum orbit achieved, Captain.
Annisha: Plays like a tiny guitar, sounds like something twangy.. or at least that's what the music store said.
Jylliene: ::nods:: I have updates going through and automatically adjusting the displays.
mimipavilion: ::rather concerned about what's going on::
Chirakis: =/\==/\=PAUSE SIM=/\==/\=
Chirakis: =/\==/\=PAUSE SIM=/\==/\=
Chirakis: 7/7/17
Chirakis: Thank you.
Chirakis: Well played.
Kallah Ramson: So the Aegean has found a planet with it's own fidget spinner "of doom".
Chirakis: Captain, TBS?
Kallah Ramson: Scott, 4 hours sound good to reevaluate things and move forwards?
Scott Coleridge: Yes.
Scott Coleridge: We'll start with an informal meeting among bridge crew to solicit ideas, so muse on that in logs if you like.
Chirakis: Are we to assume that the ship is high enough to remain stable while the meeting is in progress?
Kallah Ramson: Yes
Chirakis: Any more comments for either crew?
Kallah Ramson: None
Chirakis: Questions or comments from the crew?
Chirakis: Seeing none...
Chirakis: Crew dismissed. Be well. Be Safe. Don’t forget your towel.
