After hearing Ayumu's guilty plea, Blu asked Admiral Calvert for both she and Lt Medley to approach the bench and discuss briefly Ayumu and if she fully understood her plea. Calvert granted Lt Medley some time to meet with Ayumy and discuss the case more first while Blu handed Medley the case file she was using that Jax had complied for her.

STSF Seiben: ::feeling better after she had a chance to speak with Medley and had some time to think things through::

Rue Wydown: Lt. Medley > so what else do you think I need to know to defend you?

STSF_BluRox: :: Having left the admiral's ready room, heads back to see if she can find Jax::

STSF_BluRox: (maybe that she's wanted on some planet for killing their one of their gods, and we stole her back before they could put her to death?)

STSF Seiben: Well, I'm wanted on an cloaked planet for accidentally killing one of their sacred birds, and escaped a death sentence when my crew beamed me out just before it was carried out, or the time me and a few other crewmen colored our skin green to pose as Orions, or the time I went undercover to catch those who stolen stuff from a planet that mutated our last XO...

August Jax Robinson: ::opens the old fashion door for Blu:::

Rue Wydown: Lt Medley> I mean for the current charges. Not for your past crimes. I'm beginning to worry about this

STSF_BluRox: :: moves across the room and takes a seat, motioning for August to take one as well

STSF Seiben: Oh. Well, like I mentioned before I'm not sure why failsafe’s kicked in earlier.

August Jax Robinson: ::takes a seat:: I feel like she is giving up by pleading guilty ::tears up:: I don't know what to do to help her

 

Rue Wydown: Lt> Let's go over the timeframe again. Start from the beginning and tell me what happened.

STSF_BluRox: That's what I wanted to talk to you about. What is with that?

STSF_BluRox: She's always had some fight in her. At least to do something stupid with Jamieson or Nickles....I've not seen her roll over like a dead possum before.

STSF_BluRox: Do you have any insight as to what is up? Did something happen on that alien freighter when I was knocked out?

 

STSF Seiben: Well, I was given the order to leave the nebula at warp 5. I set the navigational computers to warp 5 before I engaged. Then somehow, the ship accelerated to warp 8 which we sustained for some time. Then the emergency fail safes kicked in and stopped the ship.

Rue Wydown: Lt> how long have you been on duty. And what is the normal length of one of your duty shifts?

STSF Seiben: Normal shifts are 8 hours, but I was on duty for alot longer since we just came back from an away mission on an alien freighter where we rescued our CO from capture by the entity that inhabits the nebula.

STSF_BluRox: Jax?

Rue Wydown: Define a lot longer?

STSF Seiben: I don't know for certain, but I'd say at least 12-13 hours

Rue Wydown: And when was the last rest. That you had?

August Jax Robinson: I don't remember anything out of the ordinary during that departure

Rue Wydown: ( yes that's right I've given up on auto correct tonight. You're just gonna have to decide how to interpret what I type I'm not fighting anymore )

STSF Seiben: ::thinks:: I'd say at least 20 hours, maybe a quick nap but that's about it

August Jax Robinson: I am also not sure how long she was on duty, with all the action... maybe she had or was ordered to work longer. that could have played a part in what happened

Rue Wydown: And why didn't you call in for relief?

STSF_BluRox: Thing was, we went from that station, right to the freighter, and were working to keep that creature confined, then right into its attack..that's all I remember, I was out after that

STSF_BluRox: but from what I read from your report, most of our away team was put right back into action. I was in sickbay

August Jax Robinson: They were sent back to their station:: nods::

 

STSF Seiben: I wasn't feeling tired, but in hindsight I should have. After the away mission, we were to report back to the bridge where I continued my shift on the bridge.

STSF_BluRox: by necessity, or by who? You as well?

Rue Wydown: (So Heather....soon to be new crew member sits next down next to you. Are you going to give him the cold shoulder?

STSF Seiben: Given the situation and urgent need to depart the area, before the entity could change its mind and not let us leave, I wanted to leave as soon as possible. I felt that was imperative to our safety.

STSF Seiben: Seiben> ::feels a bit chilly all of a sudden::

 

August Jax Robinson: We were told to go back to our stations, to be honest. it didn't seem wrong at the time to do so.... but we were on Duty past shift

Rue Wydown: How many other crewmembers remained on duty?

STSF Seiben: Most of the senior staff, our Chief Engineer, Chief Science, and our XO for that matter. I don't recall the last time any of us had gone off shift.

August Jax Robinson: I mean.... you know what I mean? you return to the ship after action and you are still running on adrenaline:: looks down:: I should have known better

Rue Wydown: Is this a normal occurrence on your ship?

STSF Seiben: It doesn't happen every day, but in emergency situations such as the one were in, it does happen every so often.

Rue Wydown: And you're not sure when the last time a diagnostic had been run at your station, is that true?

 

August Jax Robinson::: Shakes her head:: this is my fault, I should have alerted the Bridge of the lack in down time

STSF Seiben: That is true

Rue Wydown: Under normal circumstances when are diagnostics run at your station?

STSF Seiben: Every couple of months, usually 3 or 4.

Rue Wydown: (((:::pats Seiben on the shoulder::: Don't worry, we're not all that cold, distant or silent))

Rue Wydown: Couple more questions here. Why did you join Starfleet?

STSF Seiben: I wanted to explore space and see the unknown. Just like the recruitment posters.

Rue Wydown: I see. A bit naïve that, isn't it?

STSF Seiben: (It's efficient!)

STSF Seiben: I suppose you can say that, but it was fun.

Rue Wydown: It was? Why are you using the past tense already?

STSF Seiben: Just trying to be a little realistic. There's a good chance I'll lose my pilot certification.

Rue Wydown: ( Of course it is I'm playing a lawyer )

Rue Wydown: And if we try to plead this down what would you be willing to accept?

August Jax Robinson: ::tears up:: this is my fault, I was the racking Office

STSF Seiben: Yes, I would. It would certainly beat jail time.

 

STSF_BluRox: I don’t' know what she is thinking….

STSF_BluRox: Can you talk to her? See what she is thinking?

STSF_BluRox: you may be able to help this Lt Medley with some background information.

STSF_BluRox: Remember, I'm just assigned to prosecute...I don't

STSF_BluRox: want' to hurt my own crew

August Jax Robinson: Aye Ma'am, I will do my best....

August Jax Robinson: if I am called as a witness, I can fix this... it was my fault. Not hers

 

Rue Wydown: I asked what do you think you'd be willing to except. There still might be some jail time involved

STSF_BluRox: I think she will need to at least be reassigned, or even discharged, but this.....this is prison time, make sure she knows that. But...I have to do my job, the Admiral has told me I must do my best. But he's a fair man....that's why he gave them more time

STSF Seiben: ::nods:: Yes, I'm aware of that. Hopefully, it won't come to that but I'm ready to accept the possibility

STSF_BluRox: Ok, August, I'll see if I can buy them some more time to work on this, the Admiral owes me a favor anyway. See if you and Heather can help them some

August Jax Robinson: ::nod-nods:: I will do my best

STSF_BluRox: And Jax, don't beat yourself up. Rue and you both had been on that same mission, neither of you thought of it, you were all stressed...see if you can work with that with them.

STSF_BluRox: Ok, so you got a bit more time to work with figuring out your case there...... luckily, the Admiral had to attend to other business
