USS Republic Mission Briefing 5170522 – Season 25

USS Republic Mission Briefing 5170522 – season 25

Lt. Commander Wydown has just relieved Ayumu Kasuga of duty, for gross dereliction of duty with regards to a charge of reckless piloting, through a posted fragile section of space. Posted speed limitations had already been listed, and with the advent of the most recent damage, the Republic had just updated Starfleet in recommending that even that speed needed to lowered even more, and had just posted warning buoys and alert messages within the region.

However, it was noted that while Lt Jamieson was left in charge of the bridge at the time that the computer initiated a fail-safe override of the engines, it may be that she also could face charges. The ship already en-route to the nearest Starbase, where Ms Kasuga may have to answer for her actions.

STSF_BluRox: BEGIN SIM

STSF_BluRox: BEGIN SIM

STSF_BluRox: :: Has just arrived upon the bridge, having snuck away from medical::

Heather Jamieson: :: Science console (I think) ::

STSF Seiben::: confined to her quarters::

STSF_BluRox: Rue.....report. What's wrong with the ship? :: looks around at the frantic crew at the stations on the bridge::

STSF_BluRox: That was a hard stop, inertial dampeners couldn't even handle that.

Heather Jamieson: :: Checking sensor and other science systems while looking for ways to dissipate the subspace ripples caused by the sudden stop ::

Rue Wydown: ::looking for all the world that she'd rather *not* explain, but must do so anyway:: We've had a breach in protocol. The ship, on the watch of the helmswoman, reached a speed of Warp 8 before the computers kicked in with an automatic braking solution. She's been relieved of duty and is now in her quarters until a full investigation has been concluded.

STSF_BluRox: Holly> :: Appears lounging in Blu's seat:: Yea, like Wydown said, we had to put on the brakes pretty hard there. Not my job to watch everything 24/7...but I do what I can. Saw things red-lining...and pulled the emergency brake.

Heather Jamieson: :: Watching a playback of the breaking to see what that caused ::

Rue Wydown: ::used to find Holly funny, but definitely not now::

STSF_BluRox: :: Looks at Rue, then to Holly and back to Rue:: And...no idea why? You didn't see the change while on the bridge? or any change of behavior from her?

Rue Wydown: No, she gave me an ETA for our next destination, then I turned the command of the bridge over to another while I went to check on how badly you were injured.

STSF_BluRox: Holly> Not her fault there cat woman.....she was checking on you......Heather had the bridge at the time. Might want to ask her what was up?

STSF_BluRox: Has anyone interviewed Kasuga yet?

STSF_BluRox: (Rue IM)

STSF_BluRox: Holly> Yea, Christina went down. I hope she didn't shoot her...

Rue Wydown: Let's hope she didn't get lost on her way.

Heather Jamieson: :: Thinks she hears her name, continues to work on the subspacial issue ::

Rue Wydown: I've asked Christina to pull log information and Heather to provide a damage report to the rift. Jax is all ready working on ship issues.

STSF_BluRox: :: taps combadge:: +Kasuga+ This is Admiral BluRox. Please prepare a written report on the event and forward it to myself and Wydown. I will call for you shortly to come plead your case

Heather Jamieson: :: Working on a time lapse version of the report ::

STSF Seiben: ::sighs:: +Blu+Understood. ::slowly heads over to her desk to work on her report::

STSF_BluRox: (I have the time stamped version..... night need 2 nooses)

Heather Jamieson: :: to herself :: They make take a bigger screen.

Rue Wydown: Jamieson, what's the status of the rift?

Heather Jamieson: The damage into the tertiary subspace bands extends behind the ship like a ship leaves a wake in the water.

STSF_BluRox: :: walks to the center seat, waving Holly out of it::

Rue Wydown: And is there a way to correct the damage? Or a way for us to get away from the damage without causing more?

STSF_BluRox: Jamieson, put the section scans on the main viewer so we may all see them

Heather Jamieson: I'm working on a way to create an anti-wave to cancel out the changes.

Heather Jamieson: :: Places her time-lapse and real-time data on the main viewer.

Heather Jamieson: Real-time on the right, time-lapse on the left.

STSF_BluRox: Holly, go check on Kasuga for me, make sure she is ok, and help guider her report if need

Heather Jamieson: We were at warp 8 for twenty minutes seven seconds.

STSF Seiben: ::working over her report, still deciding the honest approach is the best option, was extremely tired wasn't paying attention to the ship's speed until the computer kicked in and activated the emergency brakes::

Heather Jamieson: The delay in stoppage is strange. I will look into that.

Rue Wydown: ::blinks:: Twenty minutes?

STSF Seiben: Well.. what else could I say, right?

Heather Jamieson: And seven seconds.

STSF Seiben: I'm screwed either way. ::feeling quite depressed now::

Heather Jamieson: Partly with you in command, partly with me on the conn.

STSF Seiben: ::sends her report::

STSF_BluRox: (( And.... there were 9 minutes after Heather was told the speed, before she asked Ayumu again about it)) looks like a double court-martial!

Heather Jamieson: I am trying to determine why the system failed to stop us sooner.

STSF_BluRox: Holly> Maybe because you were lucky I noticed ..... It's not my job to watch you 24/7.

STSF_BluRox: :: listens to them all:: Heather, until further notice, you will not take com, while I have this investigated.

Heather Jamieson: The entire flight time was not the issue after we were far enough away.

Rue Wydown: ::rubs her temples::

Heather Jamieson: That is fine by me Admiral.

STSF_BluRox: I suggest you put your version into a report to submit. This will all have to go before a review board.

Heather Jamieson: If I am part of the investigatees should I not compile a reason for the delay in halting our velocity?

STSF_BluRox: ::turns to Rue:: This makes no sense, we came out here to deal with a ship that causes a tear, ended up with an angry alien from......that very tear, swore to said alien...that we'd be careful and would prevent other ships from doing the same. So how does our own crew, right after deploying sensor and warning buoys, if I read these report correctly......just how does this happen?

STSF_BluRox: Perhaps you could explain to me, when you were told the speed, why you waited so long?

Heather Jamieson: :: Gets the logs of the sensor and warning buoys to decompile ::

STSF_BluRox: :: as she turns to Heather for the answer to her question:: You would have been the one to have called for the reduction in speed. It's lucky that Holly happened to have noticed it.

Rue Wydown: I wasn't told the speed of the ship. I'd asked for an ETA to our destination. My assumption was that our experienced helmswoman would understand the importance of following our on restrictions, considering the peril we just got ourselves out of.

STSF_BluRox: (sorry Rue, that was to Heather ....(the perhaps you could explain line)

Rue Wydown: And it doesn't make sense. It's inattentive and reckless.

STSF_BluRox: And if I recall, not the first time.....

Heather Jamieson: I did not know the protocol contained a prefix to halt the ship until we were away. Many warning buoys are set to activate on a delay at many cases.

STSF_BluRox: We just barely escaped with our lives from the lifeforms, that we swore we'd work to prevent, and now we've cause an even larger transgression ourselves.

STSF_BluRox: Ms Jamieson...I'd suggest that you stop arguing with me, and work on that report. You will also be spending some time before the review board on this.

Heather Jamieson: You asked me a question and I was attempting to provide an answer.

Rue Wydown: I'm really thinking a cuppa would help calm everyone's nerves about now.

Heather Jamieson: :: Opens the files from the buoys and reviews the settings ::

STSF_BluRox: :: turns back to Rue:: I'll have to review all these logs .... ::stops hearing Heather again:: Rue....as I'm most likely, being a flag officer in this sector, have to help run this review board, and as I was not involved, I"m going to excuse myself from this conversation, and wait to see everyone's reports. ..... If you would please take care of .... personnel matters, it would be appreciated. I'll be in my Ready Room

Rue Wydown: ::nods, glares at Jamieson::

STSF_BluRox: :: forward those maps and messages to my ready room for my review::

Heather Jamieson: :: Has the computer run simulated runs to repair the rift caused ::

STSF_BluRox: :: walks over to the Ready Room and enters, ears laying half flat, and tail twitching in anger::

Heather Jamieson: :: Does a global search ::

Rue Wydown: What the *heck* was that, Jamieson? Are you trying to get yourself thrown in the brig?

STSF_BluRox: (seiben, you're still not showing in mod column, so can't message you, message me if you can)

Heather Jamieson: I was not arguing with her. She asked me a question and I answered.

Heather Jamieson: The one thing Starfleet holds above almost everything is the truth, whether personal or scientific.

Christina_Nickles: (( sorry all I just walked in the door., Had to wait for closers to finish cleaning))

STSF_BluRox: (Rue, IM)

STSF_BluRox: (hi Christina)

STSF_BluRox: (if you are on the bridge, you are noticing a very tense conversation going on between Heather and Rue)

Heather Jamieson: :: Making finishing touches on the time-lapse sensor events ::

STSF_BluRox: (if you're not, you might consider having some toast and jam before going up to join them)

Rue Wydown: Are you kidding me? If you were anything, you were argumentative and defensive. I half expected her to whip out her claws. There's stating the facts and there's.....well....that ::motions to all of her::

Heather Jamieson: :: Looking at three screens and moving her hands seemingly independently ::

Christina_Nickles: (( gotcha, If I remember right I was on the bridge working on something))

Heather Jamieson: (Wait wait...)

Rue Wydown: "You asked me a question and I was attempting to provide an answer" ::mimics her:: Sounded like a human tween.

Christina_Nickles: :: on the bridge not looking up but trying to keep busy with her task::

STSF_BluRox: (smart Christina...keep your head down!)

STSF_BluRox: PAUSE SIM

STSF_BluRox: PAUSE SIM

STSF_BluRox: PAUSE SIM

STSF_BluRox: Ok...so Rue said she cant' be here next week. I have no clue about Jax...what about the 3 of you guys

STSF Seiben: ::Paused::

Heather Jamieson: I will likely be around

STSF Seiben: Should be as well.

Christina_Nickles: I have a dogshow but Should be here unless I fall alseep on the couch waiting for time to sim.

Rue Wydown: Dog show, fun

Christina_Nickles: :) yep

Heather Jamieson: Do they have cat shows?

STSF_BluRox: I'll follow up with Jax, but if just you 2, and maybe christina for 3 minutes, then I might just call it

Christina_Nickles: They do

STSF_BluRox: else, you two are going to have to type alot more

STSF_BluRox: Ok, well, I know some of us have to work early...so...

Rue Wydown: Have a good night guys

STSF_BluRox: We'll pick up either next week or the following. I’ll update everyone...... with the fact gathering before we hold a review board

STSF_BluRox: With that...Crew Dismissed
