Thought I'd beat Fred to the punch this time.

 

What did you think of the new episode? It airs in 30 minutes.

I thought it was a pretty good episode. I think they really started developing a character relationship between Tpol and Trip that took it away from it being wholly sexual.

 

The seductress part actually made sense. When I was watching the previews I thought it would be silly...but it was pretty well thought out in my opinion. We sure have been seeing a lot of the brig lately havent we?

 

Im not entirely liking how the Xindi plot is going. It seems like the Xindi are waaay ahead of Humans technology-wise...I dont see how they think humans pose a threat, and why they're wasting their time on their new weapons when they could probably just storm Earth. I mean those reptilian guys don't even get hurt by phase pistols.

 

I've noticed the whole show has been downplaying Starfleet's abilities. I think that if we can realistically expect Earth to become the center of the UFP, they should be much better off technology wise.

 

Again, I'd like to see more of a fleet.

 

I'm not really getting into this "expanse". It previewed it like the expanse was hell in space...the vulcans that came back were turned inside out alive, and all that, but this looks just like they went to the Delta Quadrant or something. Nothing particularly special about it.

 

I also liked how they mentioned their DNA transformation from "Extinction" and how they were still dealing with the recovery.

Good idea...although...if they didn't see it Wed, when it aired, its not likely they're going to see it in the next couple of days...unless they taped it.

The only thing I watched, cause smallville was on, was the seen where T'Pol gets it on....Vulcan lesbians are cool...but could that happen in RL, since having relations, with out reproducing would be illogical, and hence forth thats the whole 7 year thing.

Well...having now seen it...I thought it was interesting. I was relatively certain the lead female was going to eventually do something negative. Find me one that hasn't since TOS?

 

I do love the fact they are running solid continuity in this series. Archer is hurt one week, he isn't fixed the next. What an odd concept. I can almost understand the horrible time Starfleet had dealing with the Xindi. I mean, from that era, humans haven't had to fight a real war in a solid 100 years or so. That and I think it's refreshing to see that their technology can't solve everything.

 

Perhaps more shocking, I am liking the direction their taking this entire Trip/T'Pol angle. I think it has some potential and they've avoided (for the most part) turning it into a reason for sex. I can buy the concept Vulcans have methods of meditation that involve relaxation.

 

As for the Xindi plot itself, have to remember. They apparently really know nothing about humans or Earth. They just know where it is. It would be like someone coming up to you and saying "Someone 200 miles away is going to kill the entire human race." You have any clue who that person is? Know what weapons/skills they have? Know how easy/hard it would be to elminate them?

 

I do hope the quality of writing stays up. If it does, I think this is going to be a quality season.

Actually I was thinking that during the female/archer scene. The impending kiss part felt very TOS-like...all they needed to do was add the white haze around her face!

I think its become more of a comic relief for me. Trip's acting during it isn't sexual its more uncomfortable and funny. Of course Trip is one of my favorite characters on Enterprise. If TPol had been massaging the illusive Mayweather I might think different...then again, we DO need more scenes with the poor invisible helmsman ;) We dont see Hoshi that much anymore either.

 

I'd like to see more development also between Archer Trip and whatshisname the tactical guy.

 

Though since they believed they could successfuly board the ship and rescue the female from deep inside the brig...wouldnt it be easier just to board and abduct one of the humans walking around? They had plenty of opportunity to do so. Then they could study the human as long as they like. Even test the bioweapon on him!

I missed the episode Wed, and here in Nebraska, it airs twice a week, the second time being Saturday.  I'll let you know what I think when I finish watching it ;)

K I have my own opinions on this series as a whole.

       In truth I think they really have over done the relationships if u dare call them that. Its like every episode they have some kind of sexual inuendo, seems kind of pointless, not to mention i think it only detracts from the story line. I mean the one episode they have had recently, the only one so far to be clean, one before the 1 mentioned above, was also rather chesse laiden, If you get my meaning. I say start a new series, say one on something that looks more to the time period, say a Daedalus Class vessel.

          Eh oh well,don't hate me for saying this stuff, just not a fan of the show.
