3 is the absolute minimum.  It usually takes more.

Hey there,

Well, there is no actual solid number anyone can give you. Graduation from the Academy depends on your ability to play the game. If your being a team player, following the plot and participating in a proper manner, you may graduate after three sims. However, it could very easily take you longer. ;)

It took me only five sims, making it one of the fastest ever in the history of STSF. If you work hard, you will succeed

um, many did it in three or perhaps four boyo, but your point is made ::pokes a pin, deflates will's head:: ;)

In all honesty, we don't care how many simulations you attend.  I've seen many players who graduate quickly from the academies, flounder in advanced simulations, and like wise many shaky academy players who come into their own in advanced simulations.

I was one of those players who graduated very quickly but took quite awhile to really get the hang of what simming was really all about.  My advice is...relax, have fun, obey the rules and be willing to learn something. ;)

aye even after a speedy graduation (3 or 4 sims) it took me a looooooong time to get to know how to sim properly...hey wait i still don't. Oh well you live and learn

It's really more of a confidence issue.  Once you serve on an advanced sim and know how that particular ship works (every ship is different) and know what kinds of actions will cause more confusion than they are worth you are more confident in taking risks.

There was one time on my ship where, due to a criminal act, we were in an alternate reality and the person who had committed the act was now our CO.  The only people on the ship who knew the act had taken place were the criminal himself, his accomplice (who was then our XO), and myself, and I had no hard evidence at the time.  I had to convince our CSEC (who normally would not be a CSEC) to take command of the ship based on my word alone.  This was something I was comfortable doing since, even though it was a significant change to the plot, I knew how the other players would react to this.  But if I had only been on the ship for a week or two I would have been hesitant without contacting the GMs in advance and it wouldn't have been a surprise.

Well ::bows head:: it took me a few academies to graduate but when I did and I joined the Talon I was already comfortable with the GM's and because of the monday sims with Blurox I already knew how to do the Rihannsu sims and I got into the advanced world quite quickly so if you want to get really good in the advanced sims I would stay in the academy for about 12 sims so get yourself fit into the STSF community which is a friendly one we don't even have a senile old man just old men  but just try your hardest and thats all you need to do and the GM's are nice for the most part when they aren't off killing err I mean giving cadets exprience ;)

Took me 4 sims to graduate, but yeah.. it could take you the minumum 3 sims, (like Travis) or 30? Or..  God only knows..   But just have fun, play your heart out, and find a position you're good in, and you'll graduate in no time. Try to join as many academies as you can as well.    ;)

Only took me 1/2 a sim to graduate in STSF. Halfway through the sim the GM paused it and announced, "Okay...I've seen enough of Xiang's greatness, you're promoted to Ensign, Vex...lets just call it a night."

Hmmm, I gotta talk to the GMs about this...

Vex, you couldn't of.  It's virtually impossible.  Only the Gods of simming can do that.
