yes, they are trying to get the 18-25yr old male demographic, but face it, the majority of the core fans are well into thier late 30's - early 60's.  Look at any con. If I wanted to see that, I'd get a PPV channel.

Yes but they've already got those older hard core fans hooked. Now they need to appeal to younger crowds, because Paramount realizes that eventually their core of fans will be so old they won't want to watch anything but Wheel of Fortune.

Tobacco companies have the right idea, TV execs are just catching on :D

What Paramount doesn't realize...is that if it wants to gain 18-25 year old male viewers, they don't need nakedness or sexy scenes or massages or anything. If they just had T'Pol and Hoshi kissing in the background in a scene each episode, every 18 year old boy would be watching.

Why do they have to be kissing in the background?  Why not a close-up?

As for whta I would think would be cool is that later in the season we find out that starfleet has made a ton of ships, but has not made them operational yet, due to test for the prototype.  Governments are good at hiding things.  And then half way through the season we find 20 of the ships :D  when the Xindi just realize hey we can kick the enterprise's butt...there's only one of them... :DNow that would be cool

LOL - Is anyone else reminded of that scene in Monty Python's The Holy Grail when near the end of the movie all those knights, squires, footmen, etc. just came out of *nowhere* as if they had been there all along?

I tell ya ppl...I get no respect...

well then groups would come a long and say that the execs were making a big deal about a non-heterosexual relationship and the lawsuits would pile up and up and up and soon we wouldn't even be able to see the kissing because the netire ships bridge would be filled with court summonses up to the ceiling.

Btw the monty python thing was a brilliant link! although i doubt the scene would end with police vans coming up and hauling archer and all into them.

p.s

why is it that americans like holy grail so much more then life of brian? i've always wondered that  :D

Good question, and I don't have an answer.  Life of Brian was what got me hooked on the whole Monty Python thing.  I mean how can you not laugh at lines like...  well, I better not say them here, but you know what I'm saying.
