USS Excalibur Sim Log - 09.25.16

MISSION BRIEF: The last evacuees have left the system and the military forces are beginning to finish final preparations. There continues to be some conversation about whether or not we will abandon Camelot completely or leave a small force behind. President Nanietta Bacco is expected to address the Federation within hours to address the issue. Long range sensor beacons near to the wormhole have detected what could be a force of ships loyal to the rogue faction, but as of the start of tonight we do not have any firm information. A group of Al-Ucard vessels has entered sensor range of Camelot as well.

Cptn Swain -> ::On the bridge for the first time in a few days::

Maryse Dubois -> ::On the bridge, standing by the railing.::

Hunter Matheson -> ::at aux helm, filling in Gaither re: settings and testing protocols::

Rhan K'hal -> :: exiting cargo bay 3, his last stop on a tour of the facilities to make sure everything has been stored properly ::

KVorlag -> @ :: arms folded, scowling at the Round Table ::

Maryse Dubois -> ((Do we still have the god awful padding on the helm? lol ))

Hunter Matheson -> ::runs a simulation::

Cptn Corizon -> @::On the command deck of Camelot, having been summoned at the sight of Al-Ucard cruisers::

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> How did the meeting with the executives go? ::Looking to Swain from her usual chair.::

Cptn Swain -> Well I always wanted to leave the Gamma Quadrant but... I don't know if this is how.

Rhan K'hal -> :: pops into the lift and orders it up to the bridge ::

Cptn Swain -> ::Sighs:: We'll be getting underway as soon as the President's address is broadcast.

Tandaris Admiran -> ::also heading to the bridge, gets aboard Rhan's lift a few decks later::

Rhan K'hal -> :: nods :: Commander.

Hunter Matheson -> (brb)

KVorlag -> @ :: pacing, uncertain of the reports being received ::

Maryse Dubois -> I don't think anyone wanted to leave like this.

Tandaris Admiran -> ::nods back:: Triple or quadruple?

Maryse Dubois -> ::Leaning on the railing.::

Cptn Corizon -> @ Send a signal in the clear to the approaching fleet that they can enter Camelot space. Give them clearance to dock if they need to. Have their commanding office come aboard as soon as they arrive.

Hunter Matheson -> (bak)

Rhan K'hal -> :: ear twist :: Are we talking caffeine consumption? If so I'm on 8.

Hunter Matheson -> ::checks the latest on the status of the wormhole and there's nothing new::

Tandaris Admiran -> No, but good guess. I meant checks.

Tandaris Admiran -> I'm at quadruple myself. Quadruple-checked everything.

Tandaris Admiran -> The Jem'Hadar better show up soon.

Cptn Swain -> Command is still unsure of Tandaris' plan; so for now the plan is to put as many ships between the Rogue Jem'Hadar and the wormhole and hope we can intercept them.

Rhan K'hal -> Ah, yeah at quadruple. Now I can start twiddling my thumbs.

Rhan K'hal -> :: exits lift onto the bridge as the doors swish open ::

KVorlag -> @ :: muttering :: Romulans, Keevan, Semil, and now Al-Ucard...

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> ::She snorted.:: In a battle of numbers, we will lose. Most of ours have been evacuated.

Cptn Swain -> ACTION> Sensors detect a small fleet of Al-Ucard vessels entering the Avalon system, though no one seems too alarmed about them.

Tandaris Admiran -> ::follows K'hal out:

Maryse Dubois -> The only problem is if they are successful in their attack on the wormhole, there will be a lot of ships stuck on this side of the galaxy.

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> ::She nodded in agreement with Maryse.:: Yes, permanently.

Rhan K'hal -> :: slips into the swiveling aux-tactical, immediately sees the Al-Ucard :: Camelot's going to need to hand out parking permits if this keeps up.

Cptn Swain -> Well we're able to give up ours. ::Leans back into his chair::

Tandaris Admiran -> ::sidles up towards Hawthorne:: Commander, everything is in place for us to execute either of the plans for dealing with the subspace weapon.

Maryse Dubois -> ::Notices Rhan and Tandaris had joined them on the bridge.::

Cptn Corizon -> @ ::Heads to Round Table room::

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> ::She didn't want to think about what their life would be like if that happened. Not only would they be in the minority, but they would soon be out of resources. She glanced up as Tandaris appeared.:: What chance of success do you give them?

Rhan K'hal -> :: tail windshield-wipers, for a bit as he checks through everything going on out there ::

Hunter Matheson -> ::continues preflight checks while listening to bridge chatter::

Tandaris Admiran -> The safer one? Very slim. It depends on too many variables we can't predict.

Tandaris Admiran -> The crazy one actually has a reasonable chance of success, but of course the consequences of failure are exponentially greater.

Cptn Swain ->::Hunter:: Once we've completed pre-flight, break us loose from the station and take us to holding area 3.

Maryse Dubois -> ::Tries not to think too much about it, but then a few images of a flotilla pops into her head.:: That would be a nightmare...

Hunter Matheson -> ::stops, then swivels to listen in case helm needs to change strategy for contingencies:::

Cptn Corizon -> @ ::Enters the round table room for what he considered could be the last time::

Hunter Matheson -> Aye, Captain.

Cptn Corizon -> @ Governor.

KVorlag -> @ :: looks around the room, remembering debates of old ::

KVorlag -> @ :: seeing Corizon :: What news?

Cptn Corizon -> @ It seems like yesterday that we'd just opened this place. ::Smiles::

Hunter Matheson -> ::swivels back:: Preflight complete, requesting departure.

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> As I assumed. ::She frowned and glanced to the main viewer.:: It will likely come to the latter. Starfleet is attempting to set up a blockade with the few resources we have available to us. Thankfully, we have the support of unlikely allies behind us, otherwise it would be hopeless.

Rhan K'hal -> :: makes sure the airlock is closed and Excalibur security is on the right side of the door ::

Cptn Corizon -> @ The Al-Ucard fleet has arrived; once the President gives her address Admiral Abronvonvich will give the final evacuation order for the station.

Tandaris Admiran -> ACTION> Pretty much every alarm goes off at once as a G'jak-class Scorpiad battlestar unphases from subspace on Camelot's doorstep.

Hunter Matheson -> Going to ship power. Docking clamps released.

Cptn Corizon -> @ If we win I suppose we'll have another fifty round debate on whether to return or not.

Cptn Corizon -> @ Semil -- of all people -- has agreed to dispatch a small force to guard it.

Rhan K'hal -> Holy cow, Scorpiad G'jak class just popped out of subspace!

KVorlag -> @ :: grunts :: The Hundred... they were always more interested than the Dominion in this place?

Hunter Matheson -> ::hearing the alarms, he is attentive to further orders but continues::: Moving to holding area three.

Maryse Dubois -> Well that's unexpected. ::Looks over to Tandy.:: Friend of yours?

Cptn Corizon -> @ Ironic, isn't it.

KVorlag -> @ Is that... Vorta coming here?

Hunter Matheson -> ::Nods to Gaither to prepare for diversionary tactics:::

Cptn Swain -> :Lifts a brow::

Tandaris Admiran -> ACTION> For some reason the Scorpiad ship is showing signs of recent battle damage. Couldn't imagine why.

Cptn Swain -> Alert stations.

Cptn Corizon -> @ ::Looks up as the alert sirens sound::

Cptn Corizon -> @ Now what.

Tandaris Admiran -> ::Maryse:: We better hope so.

Tandaris Admiran -> ::takes the engineering station::

Hunter Matheson -> Holding area 3 accomplished, Captain. Going to alert protocols.

KVorlag -> @ :: hears the alert ::

Cptn Swain -> Bring us about.

Maryse Dubois -> ::Takes a seat by Rhan.:: Well if they are, I hope you told the Al-Ucard.

Hunter Matheson -> Coming about..

Tandaris Admiran -> The who—you mean the Al-Ucard have put in an appearance as well?

Tandaris Admiran -> Oh dear.

Cptn Corizon -> @ ::Motions for K'V to follow him to the bridge::

Rhan K'hal -> :: pulls up the holographic tactical overlay, scans the Scorpiad ship :: Yep, and they have a whole fleet.

Tandaris Admiran -> This could get awkward.

Maryse Dubois -> ::Nods.:: They popped in a little bit ago.

Cptn Swain -> Well hopefully the treaty we helped sign will hold them at bay.

KVorlag -> @ :: shrugs on his battle cloak, follows ::

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> Isn't having them in the same space... ah... bad? ::Looking to Swain.:: Did the Scorpiad say they were sending support?

Cptn Swain -> ::Glances at Tandaris, then to Miranda:: No, but I have a feeling a certain spotted Engineer knows more than he's letting on.

Hunter Matheson -> ::picks off the last bit of glue from the previous layers of foam on the console:::

Tandaris Admiran -> ::Swain:: I _did_ mention I was going to try to contact G'jj;k. I asked you to warn people.

Hunter Matheson -> ::and it's all clean:: Holding position, Captain.

Cptn Swain -> Corizon thought it best if we didn't get anyone's hopes up.

Cptn Swain -> Or worries.

Cptn Swain -> One of the two.

Cptn Swain -> I was pretty tired by that point.

Cptn Corizon -> @ Status report?

Tandaris Admiran -> ACTION> The Scorpiad ship hails Excalibur.

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> ::She turned to stare at Tandaris.:: You contacted *that* Scorpiad? The one that stranded you?

Rhan K'hal -> Incoming hail from the ship.

Cptn Swain -> They're calling us?

Rhan K'hal -> They are indeed.

Cptn Swain -> ::Sighs:: Corizon is going to be hurt.

Cptn Swain -> Put them on, but broadcast it to Camelot.

Maryse Dubois -> ::Tries not to facepalm.:: I thought we were done dealing with him.

Rhan K'hal -> :: sets up the forward, brings it on screen :: On screen, sir.

KVorlag -> @ :: puts his comm face on, pretty much the same scowl he usually uses ::

Cptn Corizon -> @Arden> A Scorpiad warship has joined us. Friends of yours?

Tandaris Admiran -> ::Hawthorne:: I don't know any other Scorpiads.

Cptn Corizon -> @ ::Scowls:: I didn't think Tandaris' plan would work. One day I will learn to not let him to do things.

Cptn Corizon -> @ Inform the Al-Ucard fleet that they're not to engage them.

Rhan K'hal -> :: looks up at the familiar... "face" ::

Tandaris Admiran -> G'jj;k> ::shows up onscreen, looking pissed (if you can read Scorpiad facial expressions, that is):: Give me Admiran.

Cptn Corizon -> @Arden> They're hailing the Excalibur, who's putting it through to us.

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> Why in the fu... ::She cut off abruptly as the Scorpiad appeared on screen.::

Maryse Dubois -> ::frowns at the viewscreen.::

KVorlag -> @ :: preferred having the Scorpiad on the other end of a disrupter, the Al-Ucard merely with a close eye ::

Cptn Swain -> Hi Greg. ::Deadpan::

Cptn Swain -> He's here, but I am the commanding officer of this vessel. I am sure you understand hierarchy. I've been led to believe your people really have a thing for it.

Tandaris Admiran -> Greg> Do you know what he's done?

Maryse Dubois -> ::Quietly.:: Wish he choked on a poisoned vole...

Tandaris Admiran -> ::that uncomfortable feeling you get when people are talking about you in the third person while you're in the same room::

Rhan K'hal -> :: tail flicks in amusement at Maryse's comment ::

Cptn Swain -> Today? Not really. Had a coffee I suppose. Maybe tea.

Maryse Dubois -> ::Trying not to giggle at Swain's reply.::

KVorlag -> @ :: remembers quite a few days starting badly with Dominion, Al-Ucard, and Scorpiad ships all in one place :::

Cptn Corizon -> @ ::KVorlag:: Swain's a little more... swarthy than I'd expected.

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> ACTION> A brief and begrudging message came from the lead Al-Ucardian vessel stating that they would not obliterate the Scorpiad vessel at this time. For now. But no promises.

Cptn Corizon -> @ ::Glances down at the message from the Al-Ucard fleet, and grins::

Rhan K'hal -> :: checks the incoming message, smirks; forwards it to Hawthorne and Swain ::

KVorlag -> @ :: grunting laugh toward Corizon's comment ::

Cptn Swain -> So, what do we owe the pleasure Greg? In case you've been burrowed in a hole somewhere, we're actually about to head out for a bit of a walk.

Semil -> Al-Ucard Fleet> :: requests permission to send a diplomatic ship to the station ::

Tandaris Admiran -> Greg> Admiran has managed to insinuate that I am plotting against the Empress in such a way that some of her guard have actually taken the threat seriously. I barely escaped Scorpiad space with my life. My limbs are another story.

Tandaris Admiran -> ACTION> The transmission from the Scorpiad ship zooms out slightly, revealing that Greg is now missing an arm (he still has 3).

Rhan K'hal -> :: barely represses the urge to say "aww" in a sarcastic manner ::

Cptn Corizon -> @ ::Lifts a brow, he'd expected Victria, not some functionary. Maybe she didn't care anymore? Grants them permission::

Tandaris Admiran -> ::low whistle:: (q) Oops.

KVorlag -> @ :: listening in, always more adept at intrigue than outright battle ::

Hunter Matheson -> ::keeping tabs on the ships' positions, judging their capabilities, and plotting various attack and defense maneuvers::

Cptn Swain -> ::Lifts a brow:: Well, I am sure Tandaris didn't mean you any harm, Greg. I'll be sure to discuss with him the finer points of diplomacy as a reminder, though.

Maryse Dubois -> ::Gives a little smirk.::

Semil -> Al-Ucard Fleet> :: small shuttle dispatches, heading in toward station unshielded ::

KVorlag -> @ :: shakes head :: Years of quiet and now all the neighbors drop in.

Cptn Corizon -> @ ::Nods:: I hope someone at least brought a jello mold.

Tandaris Admiran -> Greg> Unacceptable. You will give me Admiran, now. ::clicks claws::

Rhan K'hal -> :: pulls out an extra PADD from the slot in the console, taps onto it "Is it bad that I'm enjoying this, a lot?" and hands it over to Maryse ::

Cptn Swain -> ::Considers:: No, sadly as much as he can be a headache protocol dictates that I not turn over my officers whenever someone asks for them. Especially someone with a history of being less than reliable where their safety is involved.

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> ::A bit pleased that Greg hadn't escaped unscathed. She made another mental point by Tandaris' name. Only nine more to go and he gets a free pizza.::

Maryse Dubois -> ::Takes PADD, reading. Can't help but smile. Quietly replies.:: In this instance, no not at all.

Cptn Swain -> So, if you've come all this way for him I am afraid you're going to be disappointed. I would also suggest you take a look around, I am sure the Al-Ucard vessels that just arrived would be more than happy to return you to the Empress... in pieces.

Tandaris Admiran -> Greg> I warned him I would betray him. He was resourceful to escape with his life.

Semil -> Al-Ucard Shuttle> :: moves into position according to Camelot flight plan, transmit coordinates for four to beam over to VIP Transporters on Deck 2 ::

Cptn Swain -> Sounds like a personal problem.

Rhan K'hal -> :: nice feral grin at Maryse's reply, settles in to see how this turns out ::

Maryse Dubois -> I almost wish we could have popcorn for this.

Hunter Matheson -> (funny you should mention it)

Tandaris Admiran -> Greg> ::genuinely not understanding that he did anything wrong, or why everyone is making this much harder than it needs to be:: I fear the slaves even less than I fear death. Admiran has upset months of plans, destroyed strategy. My allies are in shambles. ::leans forward:: I believe Admiran taught me this expression—"nothing to lose"?

Maryse Dubois -> ((haha))

KVorlag -> @ :: watching the exchange, noting the relative position of ships onscreen ::

Rhan K'hal -> (( ack, afk ))

Tandaris Admiran -> ::clears his throat:: Captain, if I may interject?

Cptn Swain -> ::Smirks:: Well, I am sorry that your little rebellion didn't work out, but as I said Commander Admiran won't be joining you today. I rather need him.

Cptn Swain -> ::Pauses::

Cptn Swain -> Very well.

KVorlag -> @ :: watching multi-colored dots swirl in the holographic display at center ::

Cptn Corizon -> @ ::Lifts an ear:: Tandaris don't be foolish,

Cptn Corizon -> @ ::Makes a motion for Ardent to bring the weapon systems online::

Tandaris Admiran -> ::steps forward, waves:: H-Hi, Greg. Nice to see you again. You look … toned. Working out?

Semil -> Al-Ucard Shuttle> :: ready to transport diplomatic team ::

Tandaris Admiran -> Anyway, I was just wondering if you were wondering why we're all gathered here today. ::gestures around:: We're leaving, you see. The Federation, that is. Pulling out of the quadrant. I just had to say goodbye.

KVorlag -> @ :: curious ::

Semil -> Al-Ucard Shuttle> :: after proper scans and permissions, transports a team of four to the secure pad on Camelot, Deck 2 ::

Tandaris Admiran -> Greg> Your garrulous tongue bored me when we were captives and bores me now.

Rhan K'hal -> ((bak))

Tandaris Admiran -> Unfortunately, there are some rogue Jem'Hadar who are not that happy to see us get away cleanly, and they're hoping to cut us off by destroying the wormhole.

Rhan K'hal -> :: expects Greg to say "good" waits to see if he's right ::

Tandaris Admiran -> Greg> You mean the fleet of 57 Jem'Hadar warships approaching this system at Warp 9? Yes, we noticed them. How is this my problem?

Hunter Matheson -> ::wonders if there's a pool on that:::

Semil -> @ Al-Ucard Diplomats> :: arriving onstation, being secured and cleared ::

Rhan K'hal -> :: takes notes ::

Cptn Corizon -> @ ::lifts a brow::

Cptn Corizon -> @ ::Looks over at K'Vorlag::

Hunter Matheson -> ::glance to Gaither, and he nods, getting the idea:::

Tandaris Admiran -> Well, I was just thinking that if you take just me, you're not fixing anything, are you? I mean you can get revenge, but it's not like pointing at me is going to restore your name.

KVorlag -> @ :: concerned at so precise, and large, the number of incoming ships is ::

Semil -> Al-Ucard Diplomat> :: ushered into Round Table Conference Room and told to wait ::

Tandaris Admiran -> On the other hand, if you helped us prevent the collapse of the wormhole and safely shepherded the Federation out of this area of the galaxy, that might score you some power points back home, hmm?

Tandaris Admiran -> ::learned enough about Scorpiad society, and how Greg in particular thinks, from spending months alone with him::

Cptn Corizon -> @ ::has a note about the Al-Ucard representative arriving and slips off the Command deck::

Semil -> Al_Ucard Diplomat> :: looks to the other members who beamed over, assumes note of their arrival has been forwarded :: Does it look the same?

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> ::Nearly chokes, wondering if the Scorpiad was being truthful. She sent a message to Rhan to give her a view of long range sensors.::

Tandaris Admiran -> Greg> Is this what you call brownmail? You're brownmailing ME? I was destroying entire Dominion worlds when your Federation was still stumbling around the Alpha Quadrant.

Sorehl -> @ ::: draws down his hood, hearing the Al-Ucard diplomat ::: It looks... indeed remarkably unchanged.

Rhan K'hal -> :: forwards the view Miranda wants to her side-console ::

Cptn Swain -> ::Looks over at the Trill coolly, before turning his attention to the screen again::

KVorlag -> @ :: follows ::

Cptn Corizon -> @ ::Enters the Round Table room:: Sorehl?

Tandaris Admiran -> ::frowns:: Well, I mean, if stopping a tiny subspace weapon and showing us the door out is too much for you to handle….

Hunter Matheson -> ::sends message to Hawthorne, indicating that helm is ready for anything:::

Cptn Swain -> (( Five minute warning ))

Sorehl -> @ :::careful pause, uncertain of the title, goes with terseness::: Corizon.

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> ::Acknowledges Kal's message and looks to long range sensors, tying them into the station's to give them a boost.::

Tandaris Admiran -> What's it going to be, Greg? Get some revenge, or claw back some status? _You_ have nothing to lose? Take a look at our situation. Things aren't looking up for me either.

KVorlag -> @ :: almost boisterous :: They said you were gone! And here you are, as warm and live as ever!

Hunter Matheson -> ::checking master set:::

Cptn Corizon -> @ ::Lifts an ear:: Well... I am sure there's a story here, but welcome back.

Sorehl -> @ :::looks at the Klingon::: And you are unchanged, as well Governor. As your predilection for irrelevancy indicates.

Cptn Corizon -> @ ::Little disappointed Victria wasn't with them, though perhaps she was still aboard the Al-Ucard fleet::

Tandaris Admiran -> Greg> ::hisses and clicks rapidly:: I will consider your proposal. ::cuts the comm::

Rhan K'hal -> :: impressed at Tandaris' attempt to win Greg over, even if it's borrowing a wolf to attack a panther ::

Sorehl -> @ :::reads a possible note of disappointment from the Daemon::: Thank you.

Rhan K'hal -> Well, at least he got the pleasure of hanging up on you, Commander.

Cptn Swain -> ::Tandaris:: You started civil war?

Cptn Swain -> Do you know how much paper work this is going to be?

Tandaris Admiran -> I thought if we died I might get off the hook?

KVorlag -> @ :: pleased, despite himself ::

Victria -> @ ::Pushes back her hood to reveal herself as one of those that beamed to the station. She turned her icy blue gaze to Corizon.::

Tandaris Admiran -> And if we don't, then a little paperwork is a small price to pay.

Cptn Swain -> ::Frowns:: You're going to fill it all out yourself.

Sorehl -> @ :::gestures to Victria::: I believe you know my host.

Tandaris Admiran -> ACTION> The Scorpiad ship phases back into subspace, though sensors suggest it hasn't actually gone anywhere.

Cptn Corizon -> @ ::Brightens, despite himself:: Victria. I wasn't sure you'd come, personally.

Rhan K'hal -> :: Miranda :: I've got the sensors stretched as far as they'll go. I can't verify the numbers he gave so offhand but it does look like something's there.

Sorehl -> @ :::glancing around, almost uncertainly::: I was told you might be... looking for me.

Tandaris Admiran -> ::feels his heart-rate come down to "ohmygodohmygodohmygod" levels from "wtfwtfwtfwtfwtf" levels:: And I gladly accept that if we get out of this alive.

Tandaris Admiran -> Besides, it's not like Greg wasn't going to start the war himself. I just … gave him a little nudge.

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> ::She swore at Rhan's news.:: I was afraid of that. I didn't think the Scorpiad were known for exaggerating.

Cptn Corizon -> @ ::Smiles:: Yes, Captain. You remember the Merlin device? Well... some things should stay burried.

Cptn Swain -> ::Nods:: Very well.

KVorlag -> @ :: were he inclined to levity, he'd be saying something about a family reunion::

Maryse Dubois -> ::Smiles.:: I would expect anything less from this point.

Victria -> @ ::Inclines her head toward Sorehl, still looking to Corizon.:: This was an important matter that impacts us all.

Sorehl -> @ :::his visage as impassive as ever, yet seems somehow more grave::: Indeed.

Cptn Swain -> ...and...

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> ::She turned to frown at Tandaris.:: That wasn't in any of your proposals.

Cptn Corizon -> @ Well, I am glad to have you all back just the same. Captain, I believe there are some people on the Excalibur you should speak to.

Cptn Corizon -> Victria... If you wouldn't mind waiting... the others should be here soon for our last tactical planning sessions.

Sorehl -> @ :::nods, out of uniform::: As always, I am here to serve.

Cptn Corizon -> @ ::Considers:: I wonder if we should invite the Scorpiads or if they're not staying for dinner.

Rhan K'hal -> :: Maryse :: I already have the "Hawthorne needs tea" quick button, should I program one for popcorn now?
