USS Republic Mission Briefing 51606.13 - Season 24

 

While interrogating Stan, normally cool under pressure, but having been rattled by Will's incredibly imposing looks, and the questioning of the crew in the conference room, he managed to let slip, after being confronted about what the crew had found.

It had been discovered that hidden amongst boxes of chocolates, that a lot of the stolen Starfleet equipment was just a cover, to hide a batch of J'Rom's elixir, which they were planning to sell to the highest bidders.

We also managed to get him to slip that he was planning to meet some friends of theirs, a group of Yiridian traders. The crew, angered over this latest revelation, and Blu threatening to toss him out of an airlock, has made a ruse of getting Rue out of the brig for 'questioning' while letting Malcom know he's next.

Rue Wydown -> So you want to know the lay of the land with these folks, I take it?

Rue Wydown -> Malcolm Whiner, and yes that's his real name, is on the other hand your weaker link. He wants to be the big man on campus, and with the thieves he has employed, he is. But he wants Stan's spot at the top, but unfortunately he's too paranoid, too aggressive and not strategic enough to get there.

STSF_BluRox -> ::turns to Rue:: Well, while you were down there, we were able to confront 'Stan" with some information that didn’t' seem to phase him and he had an he had an excuse or alibi for almost all the stolen cargo....until Holly was able to process some of the away team's sensor scans. They were very precise...

STSF_BluRox -> Seems they are moving something more important....these, are aliquots of J'Rom's

STSF_BluRox -> 1) Do we take the ship and goods and their crew with us now, lock the bunch up and return the cargo for Star Fleet to sort out.

Christina_Nickles -> :: listens and frowns seeing the vials::

STSF_BluRox -> or 2), do we safe away this elixir to the USS Hawthorne, which is nearby dealing with the other ship we stopped and it's cargo. We can either give them the elixir to take back, and then we use this ship as bait to lure in the Yiridian?>

 

Christina_Nickles -> I’d think the Latter.

LtCmdrRobinson -> Someone tried to bribe me today, but I told them I already had all of your money, so I didnt need his.

Christina_Nickles -> Get all of them while we have a change?

STSF_BluRox -> We crew it with some of our people, just to find out who these people they are to mean to trade with

Rue Wydown -> Considering my part in this to trap one of them, I'm not sure what to tell you. Other than my observations so far.

LtCmdrRobinson -> Most of it is illegal and/or unstable. Maybe some of it is useable.

STSF_BluRox -> Or should we pursue breaking this smuggler and slaver ring up?

Rue Wydown -> Put them away, but like I said, Stan's going to be a tougher nut to crack.

STSF_BluRox -> We got him to slip a bit, but seems Will was able to get him angry, and found otu he was meeting Yriidian traders..

August Jax Robinson -> that just means "others" can't have it

Rue Wydown -> The only way you'll get him to slip further is if he thinks that Malcolm has turned on him, whether or not Mal has actually done it.

Rue Wydown -> Or get Mal to think that Stan turned on him.

Christina_Nickles -> Sir if we just stop here, We may be allowing more of JRoms work to continue.

STSF_BluRox -> Would moving Stan out of the brig, and dropping hints at Malcom that Stan's decided to cooperate...would that loosen Malcom's tongue

Rue Wydown -> And if we don't stop, we risk losing what we have.

STSF_BluRox -> Well, we do have the option of the Hawethorne taking the valuable cargo, vials and the prisoners...they are taking the lot from the other ship back already, what’s a few more?

STSF_BluRox -> We do not know if any of his earlier ships have been able to get any of the serum to these 'traders', but it's possible they have. It would be critical to determine who may have these samples, and determine who they are trading them with. W

Rue Wydown -> You didn't answer my question, Blu. At what risk are you willing to take to do it?

STSF_BluRox -> With the Yridians, we're talking about .....

STSF_BluRox -> As I was saying, with the Yridians, they would not be worried about a dirty shot at one of our people, they are of little honor even amongst thieves......but they often trade in the outer fringes with the Orion Syndicate, and even with the Breen.......

STSF_BluRox -> both of which, could be severely dangerous to the Federation.

STSF_BluRox -> If this is the path they are on, then yes, I feel we should at least risk something.....I would like to see if we have a few that would volunteer for this mission....

 

LtCmdrRobinson -> +Nickles+ We already have a secure quarters set up. The usual room down the corridor. Make sure two guards are assigned in shifts please.

STSF_BluRox -> For that matter, I would be willing to join it....it means that much to me to stop these people that injured my XO not once, but twice now...

Rue Wydown -> Risk something? Before you or this crew attempts anything of this nature, I think you should be very well educated about the risks involved. I think you think I go into things blindly, on a lark, but I know more of risks involved with my actions that you'd ever suspect.

STSF_BluRox -> Fine...Then give me your full assessments of the risks, as you see them after you've spent time with those down there, and with the information I've just given you. Give me examples of why you think we should or should not try to stop this from getting into the hands of the Breen or Orions.
