Seiben

Reflections

(Shamelessly ripping off of Dox's idea during the sim  :D )

When Seiben's shift was over, he took the turbolift down to his quarters to rest.  It's been quite a day, going from an innocent road trip with friends to a chaotic scene at the station and the bridge.  He enters his quarters and finds that some of his belongings have fallen on the floor.  Seiben cleans up his quarters and lays down on his bed.  Watching CNN from his console on the bridge, he was listening to the news briefing about the casualities.  Seiben gets up and walks over to his closet.  There, he uses his knife to pry open a wall panel near one of the bulkheads. Once open, Seiben looks into his secret stash of alcoholic beverages.  Seiben breathes a sigh of relief that noone found his stash during the shipwide quarters rennovation assignment, a few weeks ago.  Seiben extracts a bottle of vodka -- one of six bottles he purchased from his connections in Russia.  He walks over to his reclining chair, twists open the top and pours it into the flask that Dox Maturin gave him.  As he takes in the hot, strong vodka, Seiben reads the subspace message he got from the "Terra for Terrans".  They claimed responsibility fir the attacks and saw it as a "victory for humanity".  Seiben takes a long gulp of vodka. The alcoholic effects of the vodka relax Seiben's nerves, as he enjoys his supper of sirloin steak and potatoes from the replicator.  Seiben also thinks that they were responsible for the assassinations of T'Mal, and Fuldor. Vulcan ambassadors that died in a shuttle explosion in Paris 13 years ago.  He heard about that incident on the holo-viewer when it pre-empted his favourite cartoon. The case is still open, and is unsolved to this day.  But police evidence concluded that indeed a bomb was attached to the shuttle and exploded, instantly killing the two Vulcans and their driver.  Seiben is 100% sure that this same group is responsible for that.  Seiben reflects on that and is angered by their actions.  Earth is supposed to be a safe place where anyone can live their lives freely.  But this group wants to dictate the lives of the Earth. Seiben is aware that terrorists like them have been around since the 20th century.  But after the Federation was founded, terrorism seemed to die out.  The vodka makes Seiben light-headed and groggy.  He finishes off the rest of the vodka in his flask, and puts the bottle back into his closet, and closes the wall panel.  Seiben hopes they can put an end to the "Terra for Terrans" organisation.  He feels sorry for his mother and the other people affected by the attacks.  The vodka proves to be quite an anesthetic, so he slips into bed.  Seiben wonders what their new orders will be and what they'll do about the attack and the organisation.  But, he'll leave the thinking up to Blu and KBear, and drunkedly falls asleep.
