USS REPUBLIC MISSION BRIEFING 516601.11 - Season 24

 

While security was busy trying to glean information from the 'guests' they had picked up remaining at the raiders base, the ship had been slowly making up time and gaining on the ion trail they had been chasing. The system we are approaching has 2 planets that deal in merchant trade and being so far from populated space, has been reported to have a number of.....less than reputable merchants working the area

Heather Jamieson -> :: Coordinating with Kasuga on sensors ::

August JAX Robinson -> ::exits her office and heads to the lift:::

STSF_BluRox -> ::exits the ready room::

Christina_Nickles -> :: in the brig area cleaning up from lunch::

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::Safely maneouvres the ship around obstacles and plotting a course to nearby planets, outposts, stations or the like in which that could potentially harbour a gang of criminals on the run::

 

STSF_BluRox -> Heather, Ayumu...I hope you've found something for us to focus on? What have you found of this system we're approaching?

LtCmdrRobinson -> ::leads one of the raiders back to a cell::

LtCmdrRobinson -> I take it no one is starving to death now?

Christina_Nickles -> : opens the cell for Will allowing the prisoner to enter, then closes it again:

O'Mally> Yea, and I demand to know why we're being kept locked up? Does your Federation always treat people you rescue like this?

Heather Jamieson -> There are two planets in this system reported to support trading both on an off the books.

LtCmdrRobinson -> No you're not.

 

Ayumu Kasuga -> There are also a few potential places they could be hiding according to Heather's scans; there is a small moon orbiting a gas giant that is large enough to hide in, along with some asteroids large enough to hide a vessel in.

STSF_BluRox -> Pull up that system map on the main viewer. Holly, what information do you have on those planets?

Heather Jamieson -> :: System map comes up on the main viewer ::

LtCmdrRobinson -> Yes, yes this is how we treat everyone we rescue.

August JAX Robinson -> ::walks off the lift, starts down the hall::

Holly> :: appears next to Ayumu and looks at her head:: You Know..you're hair would look great if you wore it braided and looped up to the side there......

STSF_BluRox -> Holly.....The system please.....

Holly> I agree with Ayumu......scary enough. They might be hiding in the asteroids, or even by that small moon....

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::ponders... may keep that in mind::

Holly> However....if they are hauling the amount of goods that we think they are, they'll need to be able to offload it. I think they'd have to risk actually landing at one of the small spaceports...most likely on the periphery of one of the larger space port towns.....There are 2 on Eridas 3, and 1 on Kleros 2.

Holly> :: whips out a bow and pins it to Heather's head.

STSF_BluRox -> Holly....that's not regulation.....and not approprate for the bridge...

Holly> No...but if you are going to have to send a team down looking for the raiders....they will need to look more causal...no uniforms

STSF_BluRox -> August...how's the repairs going on those shuttles that got damaged in the fighting in that asteroid field?

Heather Jamieson -> (green)

STSF_BluRox -> She's on her rest shift after interviewing our guests, and is scheduled to take over the bridge come Beta shift.....she'll know soon enough...

Heather Jamieson -> :: She was not sure if Holly was giving her a gift of sorts or just something for the mission ::

August JAX Robinson -> ::looks over progress report while she waits::

STSF_BluRox -> Ah good......so were you able to get any destination for where the raiders might be heading to fence some of their stolen goods?

Heather Jamieson -> :: Would like to scan in greater detail, but does not want to tip anyone off ::

STSF_BluRox -> Because I have an idea if you were not able to get them to talk...

LtCmdrRobinson -> What I got...is that they are lying liars who lie. Other than that, they will not cooperate.

LtCmdrRobinson -> One has amnesia, one has an eating disorder, and one is just a dick.

STSF_BluRox -> I about figured as much. Rue hadn't sent anything from them either..... ::turns to look at Will:: Seriously?

STSF_BluRox -> An eating disorder?

Ayumu Kasuga -> Amnesia...(q)

LtCmdrRobinson -> Yeah, I want to murder them all. But I take it I am still not allowed to, so...

STSF_BluRox -> Ok...Let me know what you think about this.......

STSF_BluRox -> So we caught them in the raider's base....yet they were not locked down, had the run of the place and hid behind security systems when we arrived.....of course they are liars..and the fact that they knew of the dead mutants....and neglected to say anything about them at first.....more worried about a cake....shows up they were not that overly concerned about their safety....

STSF_BluRox -> HOWEVER...... What if we were to....' buy their raft of lies'?

STSF_BluRox -> We don't know which of these two planets that the raiders would have headed too, and which port on which planet. Who even says they went to the planet, they could be elsewhere?

STSF_BluRox -> What if.....we were to tell them that we've found nothing on them in our database, hope they understand our need for security on the ship, and ask them to forgive the accommodations...

STSF_BluRox -> AND.... we offer to drop them off at one of these planets where they can arrange passage elsewhere from..

August JAX Robinson -> it sounds like we run a Shuttle service

STSF_BluRox -> But.....while you process them out...what if you were to slip a viridian patch onto their jackets or some way to track them. We can release them, appear to leave, and then we can follow their movements as they try to find their group again. We'll let them lead us right to the one's we're chasing.....

STSF_BluRox -> Unless....anyone has a better plan? I'm open to other thoughts on how to find the others...

LtCmdrRobinson -> Well we are not allowed to torture them for answers, so your plan might work better.

Heather Jamieson -> Sounds good Admiral.

LtCmdrRobinson -> I’d rather just transport them to the holodeck and let the holodeck do all the work though. Not sure if that would be practical though, but then we would always know where they are. See where they go there?

 

STSF_BluRox -> No, that would not work, because the holodeck will not have the dirt bags that they are used to seeing and meeting with here....

STSF_BluRox -> We can send down a few groups, and observe from a distance. They know you and Christina though Will, you may have to monitor from farther out. Remember, we're here for the bigger picture. These guys, were even considered useless by the raiders...it's the other raiders I want the most

STSF_BluRox -> We'll send Holly down to give them the news and... make our apologies. With her holo-features, she'll be able to apply the patches without them even knowing. We'll have Will and Christina escort them down in a shuttle to release them....and several of us, will be in another, following from a distance.

STSF_BluRox -> Everyone good with this plan?

Ayumu Kasuga -> Sounds good to me

Heather Jamieson -> I'm good.

STSF_BluRox -> Civilian clothing then if you would folks...except Will and Christina, uniform for you for now.....change after you've released them. Pack something on the shuttle before we bring them to you.

LtCmdrRobinson -> ::nods:: I'll be glad to be rid of them.

STSF_BluRox -> Remember, this is an distant post, there will not be fancy dress here...practical as if working on a freighter or something........do not draw attention to yourselves

STSF_BluRox -> I intend to have you pick them up again once we are done with them...and we'll send them away with the others Will....

August JAX Robinson -> So I am a patsy?

STSF_BluRox -> Remember, if this works out right.... A week on Risa for the crew. Botch it up, and a weekend on Ferenginar

STSF_BluRox -> You August, can hide easily as a mechanic.....and if we need to try to sneak you onto their crew......you'd know the speak and the engineering to draw an eye to you....
