RES TALON MISSION BRIEFING 51512.03

 

The Talon crew had been transported to one of the resistance cells of a combined Tal Shiar/Galae group that was fighting small battles, rescuing potential targets of the Othan/Tal Shiar (our bad ones) combo, and have been brought up to speed on what has been going on that they knew of. We learned that several of our more prominent crew’s families had been moved to safety early on in the coup, and that others had went into hiding. However, many others had been captured, thanks to turncoats who thought they knew the right side to back (Laeh's ri'anov for example).

 

We have been made aware that there are several well placed resistance cells, and that they were waiting for some guidance or leadership to help direct taking back our world. We now have to decide what our course of action will be...

KhreRiovtRex -> :: Looks around her:: Au have decided to stay and assist, I will na frown on any of au, that wish to make an attempt to find au family if they are na already hidden. Normally I'd ba opposed, but we ... we can't sacrifice everything we have, or what else is there for us to fight for.

KhreRiovtRex -> They have noted that there is large power plant, which supplies much of the eastern continent with power, about half a day's travel by RAC. If we were to take that down....

KhreRiovtRex -> It could collapse some of their ground to air monitoring long enough, that we can attack central communication nodes and towers planet side, and there is the potential that we could sent a tight beam coded message to a ship that has been posing as one of the Tal Shiar supporting the Othan...

KhreRiovtRex -> If we could take out the local monitoring, we could send a signal that they would not be able to track to here, but also that message would be for them to take out a few of the communication sattelites in orbit.

KhreRiovtRex -> Without that surveillance, we will be able to move and act more freely.

KhreRiovtRex -> Koga, I would trust your piloting skills to take a RAC in someplace low and fast....

Koga S'Bien -> ::Nods:: Understood

KhreRiovtRex -> And that's where we'd have the engineers knowing where to place the explosives we'll need to take with us to destroy the power plant..or at least, disable it...

Laehval tTemarr -> Au propose that we destroy the power grid in this sector to hinder their efforts. What then? Are we to make a coordinated attack on the capitol?

KhreRiovtRex -> That is the eventual plan. Several of the other cells will make a coordinated move against similar locations in their regions

M_K_tKsa -> Eventual? How 'eventual" is this? Once these power grids are taken out and these other things taken care of, they're going to know something is up.

KhreRiovtRex -> We believe that there are many more in hiding from our ranks, and after the treatment the populace has received from their new overlords, we should have substantial help in infiltrating and retaking the capital.

KhreRiovtRex -> But if we all go at once, they won’t' know where to concentrate. They will have to choose, and should they attack us, then we will have to do our best.

M_K_tKsa -> t'Valtrix, we can't be at this for years.

KhreRiovtRex -> I don't plan to be at this for years. But seriously, if you have an alternate plan, let us hear it. Any of au, because it might have been something that the others here getting ready to head out, haven’t' thought of.

Laehval tTemarr -> I tend to agree with t'Ksa on that score. This is na a time for careful infiltration to take down the new regime from the inside. We gather as many allies as we can and make a coordinated attack to remove them from power. The longer we wait, the more people will suffer and die. ::Her fist slammed into her palm.::

M_K_tKsa -> We're the late comers to this party. At this point, any infiltrations should have already been initiated and in place.

KhreRiovtRex -> I'm not sure where 'years' came from heading out to take out the power facilities, but that is the intent. Take out the power, their ability to see us coming.....then the various groups move in. It's the installations in the capital and in orbit that will be the problems, they are deep and well-guarded. We need to somehow take those down.....

 

Lerak trPexil -> We need to cut off the head of this Othan beast to end this. Is the power grid a means to that end?

KhreRiovtRex -> and once they do, those ships loyal to us, will na longer be at a disadvantage.

M_K_tKsa -> How many installations are we talking?

KhreRiovtRex -> t'Aehjae, while they are working on that plan, go with Koga to the weapons supply officer here. They will supply au with the weapons we all will need to get into the installation so that the engineers can implement their plan.

M_K_tKsa -> So once the power plants are down, do we have an immediate goal after that?

KhreRiovtRex -> ::trying to remain levelheaded, as she herself, wants to strap into a fighter and go blasting, or find away back to Talon, and use it, as she had on their display when they last left home world

KhreRiovtRex -> Ie, as I stated, we will try to reach a few of our ships, and hopefully Talon is in range. We hope that they can help take down the orbital communications, and even hit targets on the surface. But our intent is na to destroy our own planet, we will not scorch it to win it back.

KhreRiovtRex -> No. Once they can na see us, we will move on the capital, and try to recapture the most sensitive areas.
