USS Republic Mission Briefing 5151109

 

The Republic has managed to find the somewhat damaged shuttle and has tractored it aboard. The injured were taken to sickbay and the others told to report to the bridge. It appears that 2 ships had escaped and left an ion trail which we have their initial trajectory, but the shuttle has information as wo the location of the base. Blu wants Will and Christina briefed, and an away team put together to investigate.

STSF_BluRox -> Ok folks....I need an update from that shuttle. :: points at Jas:: Since Smith is in medical and I'm assuming that Wydown will join us shorty, that leaves you..::points to Jas:: to update us quickly on what your team found

STSF_BluRox -> ::turns to look at Jas::

Jas -> ::eyes widen, and he glances around for Smith and Wydown, then looks back to Blu like a space deer caught in the hull lights:: I, uh -- well... ::clears throat::

STSF_BluRox -> Time is of the essence. If there are more raiders, I want them caught. Each moment we wait gives them opportunity to slip away.

Jas -> We investigated that planet right -- ::leans forward a little and points it out on the display:: -- there, after discovering significant energy readings emanating from it.

Jas -> ::looks to Blu again and nods a few times:: Ah, yes, in that case... yes. We monitored heavy energy readings and caught two vessels flying from the area. Those would most likely be your raiders.

STSF_BluRox -> Yes, but do you have the location of where their base was?

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::Looks at the display::

STSF_BluRox -> ::turns to Ayumu and Jamison:: Can you pull the data their ship picked up and sent in that probe to alert us, and pinpoint it here?

Jas -> ::opens his mouth to say something but stops, thinking that's a much better idea::

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::Nods:: Yes, that shouldn't be a problem. ::Looks to Heather::

STSF_BluRox -> ::points to the additional terminal on the end of her desk:: please do so....we're losing time

Heather Jamieson -> :: Nods ::

STSF_BluRox -> ::turns to Will and Christina..:: I'm assuming you two can lead a team down to take that base?

Heather Jamieson -> :: Gets up and goes to the terminal at the end of the table ::

LtCmdrRobinson -> I'd like to take 4 shuttles, if you are going to take the ship off in pursuit of the other two ships

STSF_BluRox -> Due to all the asteroids, I want August to go with you as well to monitor shielding, and if there are any systems that we'll need her to help take down

August Jax Robinson -> ::Glances at Will with "Bedroom eyes" (watching a lot of Noir).::

STSF_BluRox -> No, we'll go after them later. We’ve got a location on their path...but we're staying here. As Wydown is busy...I'll be coming down with you as well. In fact, this will be our main team. I want Jas in case there are any more of the mutants here. He'll be able to help us deal with them.

Heather Jamieson -> Admiral, we have the coordinates. Their team made many passes of the raider base.

Ayumu Kasuga -> Yes, we've got a pretty good layout of the base.

LtCmdrRobinson -> ::nods:: We'll need medical as well, to deal with the casualties we inflict. We don’t know how many they have left in the base.

Jas -> ::listens silently::

STSF_BluRox -> :: looking at the information starting to show on the screen::: So Jas....you got a good read on this planet. I'm going to send you with Commander Robinson....Well, actually both Robinsons.....Ayumu, you Heather and I will go with Christina's ship. Will's other men will come down in the other 2 shuttles. The atmosphere does not look too conducive to transport, so we'll avoid that and take the shuttles.

Jas -> ::nods to Blu:: Got it.

STSF_BluRox -> Will. How do you want to proceed? Direct assault, or land and make our way on foot through the snow.... :: actually hoping for one for the direct assault into the base::

 

Heather Jamieson -> :: Nods :: Sending this data to the teams padds and tricorders..

LtCmdrRobinson -> I want to use the shuttles to clear out any defenses, so direct we give us the advantage. Fly right in.

STSF_BluRox -> If they've already left with those two big ships, and you mentioned taking out a few smaller ones already in addition to the 2 we got, it may well be that the base is empty. However, if they did leave it, they could have rigged it as a trap as well. We'll have to use caution.

Jas -> ::under his breath:: Lovely..

STSF_BluRox -> I like the plan Will. Ok people...cold weather gear on the shuttles in case we need it, field jackets for this trip. I want everyone to be able to move, but if its cold I want you all protected as well from the elements.

Ayumu Kasuga -> Wouldn't surprise me.

STSF_BluRox -> Well August, put on an extra pair of Underroos, and you'll be fine. Come on Snowflower....if there are more down there. I want to take them fast and by surprise. They may be aware of the large ship, but they won' expect an direct assault. At least I am hoping so.

STSF_BluRox -> Will, August....please have your people bring the appropriate arms to the ships that we'll be needing. I want you all in the shuttle bay in 5 minutes. Dismissed.

STSF_BluRox -> Ayumu.....I want you to fly our ship. I don't care much for asteroids, so you're our pilot.

Christina_Nickles -> +sec team 1+ Sec team one bring weapons assault weapons and cold weather gear to the shuttle bay, Bring my gear as well and meet in shuttle bay 1 in 5 minutes.

STSF_BluRox -> Heather..I want you to stay on sensors for the ships, and make sure there are no planetary defense systems that we may have to avoid

ACTION: The team finds themselves in the shuttle bay, where highly trained crew members have already gotten the equipment together for the mission, however report that Will will have to take another ship, as his pink glitter shuttle is still too damaged to go just yet::

 

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::reminds me of my condo elevator in the mornings lol::

STSF_BluRox -> Yes, standard shuttles. My yacht is not appropriate for this type of mission...

STSF_BluRox -> ::turns to Heather:: I don't think you need the survial suits just yet. I think the field jackets will be sufficient in the ship and if the base is at least weatherized..

Jas -> ::looks over the field jackets, which are all the same:: Hm, I'll take... thaaa -- no, this one.

STSF_BluRox -> I don’t' imagine if they had not weatherized it, that they'd have too many of the mutants that are lizards or insectoids. They would not do well with this climate here.

Heather Jamieson -> Oh, alright..

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::checks the size of a field jacket, and picks one close to her size before heading to the shuttle:

STSF_BluRox -> Holly....inform the bridge that we are requesting permission to disembark. Update Wydown for me, and keep a scan going from the ship. You detect any type of planetary defense, you let us know

STSF_BluRox -> Holly> Aye Admiral, will do. You do know you should not be going on the away team don't you?

STSF_BluRox -> Shuttle out. ::closes com with Holly::

STSF_BluRox -> Ayumu..when you are ready..take us out, and then lead the ships through the asteroids. Once clear, Will's ship will take point for the bay assault

Jas -> ::stretches legs out from seat and crosses them::

Ayumu Kasuga -> Aye aye. ::finishes up her pre-flight checks, once she receives permission from the bridge, disembarks from the shuttle bay::
