USS REPUBLIC SIMLOG 51511.02

USS REPUBLIC MISSION BRIEFING 51511.02

When we last left off, the Republic was clearing its way through the asteroid and mine field trying to get to Wydown's shuttle before the raiders found them. Having launched a small metallic probe, Wydown's crew was able to avoid the raiders so far, as one of their scouts followed it instead of them....but for how long?

STSF_BluRox -> Ayumu......you said you picked up a transmission.......let's hear it

LtCmdrRobinson -> ::waiting for more mines to blowup::

Ayumu Kasuga -> Yes.. Replaying it now. :: replays the transmission they received from Rue's Ship::

Rue Wydown -> @You've got two probes left and an asteroid field ahead of us. Should give us enough cover to get out of here, yes?

STSF_BluRox -> Ayumu.......:: taps a claw on the arm of her chair.::

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > : Is exiting the atmosphere nearly vertical now, maximum thrust :

STSF_BluRox -> Do you have a fix on where it originated?

Jas -> @ ::is clinging to his seat with both hands::

Ayumu Kasuga -> I have triangulated the source. It originated here ::brings up the general location of where the shuttle was::.. Inside of the asteroid field.

STSF_BluRox -> Heather, what about those ion trails you picked up leading away? They’ve not circled back have they?

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > This. Is. Fun....

Jas -> @ ::teeth jitters as he speaks:: S-speak f-for yourself..

Rue Wydown -> @Fantastic. A real rush. We'll have to do it again sometime.

Heather Jamieson -> Let me review... They are dispersing quickly, so if they are they are going the long way around.... wait... No they are not.

STSF_BluRox -> I want a fix kept on those readings as long as you can. I want to know where they went, and a good enough guess as to where they are going based on their trajectory. In fact. I'd like a good enough extrapolation of the data, that if we went to maximum warp, that we'd be there before them.....and give them the welcome they deserve when they get there

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > Look out the sides..

Christina_Nickles -> :: still awaiting orders to move out... Everything and everyone ready::

STSF_BluRox -> Ayumu...try to pick them up again.....

STSF_BluRox -> August...what is the status of our shielding with all these mine and rock explosions? Not too much stress on the shields or systems I hope?

Ayumu Kasuga -> Aye sir.. scanning now. ::Scanning for their current position::

Rue Wydown -> @That might give someone motion sickness. Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > :: Looks at thier velocity.. :: We are close to breaking free of the gravity... I think this shuttle is best suited for the asteroid field.. Engaging impulse...

STSF_BluRox -> Communications please Ayumu once you get them

LtCmdrRobinson -> ::explodes another set of mines::

Jas -> @ ::closes his eyes:: Motion sickness being achieved, ma'am.

STSF_BluRox -> (YES!!! Better dice tonight ....finally!)

Ayumu Kasuga -> Yes sir.

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > One quarter impulse...

ACTION: As Will blows up another set of mines close to a rather large asteroid, the explosion rips off a rather large portion and it is hurling towards the small shuttle's position!

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::checks sensor readings::

STSF_BluRox -> (I knew after he ruined my punchline, to change over the pirate skull and crossbones dice!)

Ayumu Kasuga -> (lol.. called it)

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > Someone check the sensors please..

STSF_BluRox -> (hey...odd were in my favor, they had won every roll the last 3 weeks!)

Ayumu Kasuga -> Where are they hiding?

Jas -> @ ::keeping eyes shut:: Does that involve having to open my eyes?

Rue Wydown -> @::opens her mouth to tell Jas to check sensors, but he looks a bit green in the gills;: I'll do it. You just........well........there's a motion sickness bag in the seat pocket.

LtCmdrRobinson -> Some debris left over from that asteroid, but it is moving away from us, should be able to avoid it.

Jas -> @ ::taking deep breaths:: I... won't... need it...

August Jax Robinson -> ::looks at Will:: watch the paint

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > :: Makes haste for the asteroid field ::

STSF_BluRox -> Ayumu, Heather..you said you had picked up a transmission from the shuttle a moment ago, but now we've lost them?

STSF_BluRox -> ::frowns::

STSF_BluRox -> Will....you didn’t' blow them up did you?

Jas -> @ ::starts to feel better as they leave the atmosphere behind, visibly relaxing as time passes::

Heather Jamieson -> The field has magnetic properties, plus if they are on the move location is tricky.

Rue Wydown -> @Sure, you say that now. ::grins;: Don't worry, luv, I can get a tea that'll clear that right up. ::punching buttons to bring up sensors and to look and see what trouble is ahead and behind them::

Ayumu Kasuga -> I detected what could've been an explosion, but I think I have them again. I'm re-establishing a commlink.

LtCmdrRobinson -> No, I havnt.

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > Anything in our path Doctor

LtCmdrRobinson -> ::fairly sure he didn’t, but rechecks the sensors to make sure::

STSF_BluRox -> (don't drink the tea, its' a trick...she only calls it tea, but it's a foul, foul concoction....at least that last stuff she gave me was!)

Rue Wydown -> ((You wouldn't be here now without my tea :) Neither would Kwai))

Rue Wydown -> @Nothing but space rock, at the moment.

Christina_Nickles -> ::to her team that’s standing by:: sounds like Cmdr Robinson is having fun blowing up the rocks

STSF_BluRox -> Send another signal out, all frequencies....

Jas -> @ ::opens one eye, then the other, and looks at the sensors:: The lady's right.

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > Alright, send out another ping in front of us. Perhaps the Republic will pick it up/

STSF_BluRox -> (poor Christina, the anticipation of getting to board or invade is chaffing on her team!)

STSF_BluRox -> (one ping only)

Rue Wydown -> @I'm trying to discern whether or not any of these rocks are in a pattern or are random like they're supposed to be. I wouldn't put it pass this group to have discovered a way to either create their own hidden pathway for entry or defense.

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::transmitting the signal::

Christina_Nickles -> (( :-) ))

Rue Wydown -> @Sort of like a laser beam security system

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > What?

STSF_BluRox -> (OH!! What a good idea Rue!! )

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > ETA to field in five minutes.

STSF_BluRox -> (Lasers you don't see until the dust from what you blow up shows it all around you! )

Jas -> @ Like if someone's intestines weren't where they were supposed to be?

Jas -> @ Weird asteroid formations and the like.

Rue Wydown -> @How could someone's intestines not be where they're supposed to be? :: confused::

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > At least you are not a lizard anymore Jas, we have no accommodation for the tail.

Jas -> @ ::motioning hands along to explain the point:: It's like a, uh... analogy.Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > :: Rolls the shuttle, lining it up with the plane of the field ::

Ayumu Kasuga -> Okay.. I have it.

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > Any communications Rue?

Ayumu Kasuga -> I have communications uplink established.

Heather Jamieson -> :: Scanning the field, but with the mine explosions the scans have to compensate more ::

August Jax Robinson -> oh, good Will didn't blow them up too

Ayumu Kasuga -> IT seems so

Rue Wydown -> @A pretty bad analogy.

Jas -> @ ::sighs with a shake of his head:: Forget it..

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > Uh... :: Pitches the shuttle hard. stretching the dampeners to their limit. The chunk of rock hurtled towards them with only seconds left! ::

LtCmdrRobinson -> Mines and asteroids are the only thing I have hit, I know what I am doing.

Rue Wydown -> @ I haven't hear---...never mind. I think I'm getting something now. Putting it onscreen

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::Waits for them to respond or something::

Jas -> @ ::mutters to Smith:: Fancy flying there..

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > :: Skirts along the surface of the asteroid fragment ::

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > :: then a loud :: BANG!

Jas -> @ ::jumps in his seat:: What the heck was that?

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > :: The shuttle twirls off course, spinning, making Jas wish he was lying down ::

Rue Wydown -> @Hey....watch the paint job.

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > :: A Klaxon sound :: An impact at high velocity.. a scrap, but the integrity is compromised.

Jas -> @ ::wishes he was lying down:: Great... this is why I like bigger ships with thicker hulls... or even better, solid ground...

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > :: The shuttle was still a little off course, but Smith was taking his time correcting the shuttle ::

Rue Wydown -> @See what you can do to slow our course here. ::working on the internal dampeners:: WE can't take too many of those hits.

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > :: Grits his teeth :: Better than a more direct hit.. it's our angle that saved us.

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > Don't look out the window Jas.

Jas -> @ ::keeping his eyes down:: I'm trying not to...

Heather Jamieson -> ((Dramatic we-are-out-of-control music is playing))

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > :: The spinning is slowing ::

Rue Wydown -> @Tell that to the Admiral when she sees what you've done to her shuttle.

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > What I've done? And last I knew it was Starfleet's shuttle.

Rue Wydown -> @Treating the shuttle like a ping-pong-ball. Shameless. ::teasing, tapping controls:: Sending another quick transmission to let Republic know where we are...um...when we stop spinning.

ACTION:: ASTEROID DEBRIS MISSES SHUTTLE

ACTION: REPUBLIC PICKS UP A PING FROM COMMUNICAITONS

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > About another minute and whoa... another near miss.

Rue Wydown -> @::bursts out laughing at Smith's comment as if it's the funniest ironic joke ever::

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::checks:: I have something from the shuttle. It seems they've lost control.

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > We should be righted in a moment.

Jas -> @ ::closes his eyes again::

Ayumu Kasuga -> Oh dear. ::tries to track the shuttle's location, but it spinning around is making it hard to do so::

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > :: Reaches back with his right hand and holds Jas' for a moment :: Take deep breaths Jas.. :: then goes back to righting the shuttle ::

STSF_BluRox -> ::Mutters under her breath:: Find it, and get a tractor beam on it quickly. Before it gets crushed out here..

Heather Jamieson -> Do you see that Kasuga?

[Random Roll] STSF_BluRox: 14

[Random Roll] STSF_BluRox: 2

[Random Roll] STSF_BluRox: 3

((::gasps:: Is that an actual roll I see!?))

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::Nods, attempting to find it:: See what, the shuttle losing control, the explosion? Ensign Carmichael almost falling down the steps?

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > :: The shuttle is starting to slow it's spin ::

Rue Wydown -> @You okay back there, Doctor?

Jas -> @ ::shakes Smith's hand off:: Just keep both hands on the controls!

ACTION: Three good size chunks of flying asteroid debris is moving swiftly towards the shuttle. The first one misses the ship, but the 2nd and 3rd hit on the shielding squarely, tossing the tiny ship about.

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > I'm fine.. just a few moments.

Ayumu Kasuga -> I believe I found them. I'm attempting to move in and tractor them. ::peruses a course to where the shuttle was::

Ayumu Kasuga -> Too much asteroids... we can't go in very far.

Rue Wydown -> @Well, this is just like bumper cars, isn't it?

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > :: The shuttle spins again as the two rocks hit it :: So much for that...

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > I'm thinking the field is not the best place./

@ SHUTTLE KLAXON SOUNDS AS HULL SHIELDING HAS DROPPED TO 39%

August Jax Robinson -> ::Looks at Will::

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > I think it's time for a distress call..

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > Shields read at 39%, confirm?

STSF_BluRox -> Why don't we have that shuttle in a tractor yet? I thought you had found them?

Ayumu Kasuga -> I'm initiating a lock now. All these asteroids are causing interference.

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::tractors the shuttle and begins to reel them in::

Rue Wydown -> @Aye, agreed.

Jas -> @ ::keeping his eyes shut, but speaking almost matter-of-factly:: I'm going to die here in this shuttle, that's it, all over..

LtCmdrRobinson -> I can't clear the asteroids without risking the shuttle.

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > Oh finally... though I could do without that sudden stop.

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > Well you have me for company Jas.

Rue Wydown -> @It's not over until it's over. Trust me.

Jas -> @ ::opens an eye:: Why aren't we careening about facing certain doom anymore?

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > Until the fat rock crushes you...

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::opens the shuttle bay doors as the shuttle gets closer and closer::

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > A tractor beam. Powering down the shuttle.

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > :: Relaxes a bit ::

ACTION> Another large rock is flying toward the tractored shuttle...

STSF_BluRox -> 5

STSF_BluRox -> 4

STSF_BluRox -> 3

STSF_BluRox -> 2

STSF_BluRox -> 1

LtCmdrRobinson -> ::shoots it just in time?::

56:52 Rue Wydown -> @Might want to duck....

ACTION> ASTEROID CHUNK HITS THE SHUTTLE IN THE TRACTOR BEAM, KNOCKING IT RATHER HARD

Jas -> @ ::is blissfully unaware of impending doom:: Why would I want to -- ?

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > :: Time feels stretched.. ::

STSF_BluRox -> @ Computer> Hull integrity id down to 17 %

STSF_BluRox -> (shoot faster next time!)

Rue Wydown -> ((ROFL))

LtCmdrRobinson -> (( :P ))

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > :: Smith is thrown to the side of the shuttle, knocked out ::

STSF_BluRox -> (like before I get to 1, when there is the loud outstanding boom!)

Jas -> @ ::looks over to Smith:: Are we still in the tracto -- oh. Dammit.

Jas -> ((B-but, I like the boom...))

Rue Wydown -> @Hang on. ::trying to re-establish some sort of stability to the shuttle::

STSF_BluRox -> (christina...cause you've been stuck in the bay all night..pick a number 1 or 2)

Christina_Nickles -> (1)

Jas -> @ Is there anything I can do?

August Jax Robinson -> {{prey}}

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > :: Slumped over at his console ::

ACTION: WHILE THE ASTEROID HIT WAS RATHER HARD, THE TRACTOR HAD PARTIALLY CAUGHT THE OFFENDING ROCK AS WELL, AND KEPT IT FROM TOTALLY OBLITERATING THE SHUTTLE OR KNOCKING IT OUT OF THE BEAM. THE SHIP REMAINS IN THE BEAM AND IS PULLED INTO THE REPUBLICS SHUTTLE BAY WHERE CHRISTINA'S TEAM SEES A FAIRLY BATTERED SHIP PULLED IN....

Ayumu Kasuga -> Ok.. we got them.

Rue Wydown -> @Take care of Ens Smith while I try to get us back on course ::tapping on the controls, trying to take over::

Ayumu Kasuga -> A bit worse for wear, but they're still in one piec

Ayumu Kasuga -> piece

STSF_BluRox -> It's about time....that was sloppy folks. We have to do better than that....

Jas -> @ ::actually looks out window and wipes the sweat off his brow:: We made it, we actually made it...

STSF_BluRox -> :: makes a note for tractor practice in the near future::

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > :: Face a bit bloody ::

Christina_Nickles -> +bridge+ Nikles to the bridge.

STSF_BluRox -> (well, it's a good thing you have a dr with you smith)

Ayumu Kasuga -> +Nickels+ Bridge here, go ahead?

Christina_Nickles -> +Bridge+ The incoming shuttle is pretty beaten up.

Jas -> @ ::takes a moment before unstrapping from his seat and moves over to Smith, moving upper body off the console and resting it back into the seat:: Now I'm not saying this is karma for your flying, but...

Rue Wydown -> @Hey, it's not his fault. Don't be too hard on him

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ensign Smith > :: Is coming to.. :: I-uh

Ayumu Kasuga -> +Nickels+ ooh.. How’s the crew inside?

STSF_BluRox -> Ayumu...tell them to assist anyone to sickbay that needs to be. Otherwise, tell Rue to report to the bridge please.

PAUSE SIM

PAUSE SIM

PAUSE SIM

Heather Jamieson -> :: paused ::

Jas -> ::paused::

Christina_Nickles -> ::paused::

STSF_BluRox -> :: Going to rename that shuttle the USS Molasses::

STSF_BluRox -> LOL...well, thought we'd have brought them in quickly and had a hole base invasion plan, but hey...works for me too, now I'm set up for next week too! lol :)

Rue Wydown -> :D

August Jax Robinson -> ::Pez::

Heather Jamieson -> I thought we were a bit out of sync

Heather Jamieson -> It worked, just more rocks.

STSF_BluRox -> Ok, so next week we pick up with the team either in sickbay or on the bridge...

STSF_BluRox -> Anything to add Rue?

Jas -> We try and make life easier for you like that.

STSF_BluRox -> lol jAS

Rue Wydown -> Nothing from me tonight. Great job guys

August Jax Robinson -> ::Bites Will::

LtCmdrRobinson -> Foreplay later, hun :)

STSF_BluRox -> Alrighty...thanks for being patient those not in on the main action tonight

August Jax Robinson -> :(

STSF_BluRox -> so we'll see you all here next week, and see what's left of the raider base

STSF_BluRox -> Crew Dismissed
