USS Excalibur Sim Log - 09.20.15

MISSION BRIEF: The Excalibur is finally on approach to Camelot Station after completing both her missions. We've picked up a higher amount than usual of local traffic, and more allied vessels on patrol in the area than would be normal.

Cptn Swain -> BEGIN SIM

Cptn Swain -> BEGIN SIM

Cptn Swain -> BEGIN SIM

William Chocox -> ::is in engineering::

Rhan K'hal -> :: at one of the inner aux consoles, trying to make sense of the congestion ::

Hunter Matheson -> ::is at helm, feeling better now that he is away from the goo and the spiders and, well, you know::

Hunter Matheson -> ::tap...tap:: Approaching Camelot Station, Captain.

Cptn Swain -> Ithene> ::On the bridge, looking over some of the data they'd collected on their mission while she could, assuming that they would have to turn it all over to SI once they returned.::

Maryse Dubois -> ::In sickbay, checking over a report.::

Cptn Swain -> ::Nods, drinking his tea:: Drop us to impulse when we reach the outer beacon.

Hunter Matheson -> ::no idea of speed, figures it's somewhere between warp 1 and warp 75::

Hunter Matheson -> Drop to impulse when we reach the outer beacon, aye.

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> ::With Tandaris handling things down in engineering, Miranda had taken her spot on the bridge, seated next to Swain. She checked her chair's console at the latest readings, lips slightly pursed.::

Rhan K'hal -> :: scratches his chin :: Either Camelot is going to host a big party or something's up, there's more traffic out here today than outside a brothel at an outer rim station.

William Chocox -> Are you sticking around once we get back to Camelot Commander?

Maryse Dubois -> ::Makes a note to set up a few more appointments with Hunter and Dr. Quinzel.:: Hmm. ::Walks around main sickbay taking notes on a few other items.::

Cptn Swain -> ::Smirks:: Lovely.

William Chocox -> Commander Admiran?

Hunter Matheson -> ::catching K'hal's comment, eyes sweeping his console::

Tandaris Admiran -> ::Chocox:: Hum? Oh. I don’t know yet.

Cptn Swain -> Command was less than forthcoming on anything major, but contact Camelot CnC and let them know we'll need parking.

Rhan K'hal -> Aye, Cap'n.

Rhan K'hal -> +Camelot+ U.S.S. Excalibur to Camelot CnC. We are on approach and request a docking berth.

William Chocox -> I'm sure Commander Hawthorne would appreciate it.

Hunter Matheson -> ::hears the ping:: Approaching the outer beacon, Captain. Dropping to impulse.

Hunter Matheson -> ::puts on the brakes::

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> If there'd been any serious trouble during the peace talks, I'd hope they would have warned us, at least. ::Curious. She tuned in to station chatter, scrolling through the comm logs.::

Hunter Matheson -> ::extra IDS:::

Hunter Matheson -> ::hopes everyone is strapped in::

Rhan K'hal -> :: glances at Miranda :: Ever the optimist, Commander?

Cptn Swain -> Sprint> +K'Hal+ ::Sounds a little more stressed than usual:: Copy Excalibur, we just recieved two freighter convoys of refugees from the fighting, give us a few minutes to find a place to put you. Once you've cleared the second beacon, go into a holding pattern until further notice.

Rhan K'hal -> +Sprint+ Acknowledged, Camelot.

Rhan K'hal -> :: looks to Swain :: Refugees? Fighting?

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> Stupid of me, I know. ::To K'hal. She quirked a brow at the return response from the station and also glanced at Swain.:: We've had nothing on the books.

Cptn Swain -> ::Lifts a brow::

Rhan K'hal -> :: Hunter :: Holding pattern on reaching beacon 2, Gunny.

Cptn Swain -> News to me... confirm to Sprint. Miranda see what you can find through unofficial channels.

Hunter Matheson -> ::now he feels the press of other ships in the corridors, some on approach:: Holding pattern on beacon 2, aye.

Cptn Swain -> ::He seemed unsettled, to Miranda:: Arden didn't say anything in his last message.

Hunter Matheson -> ::checking the assigned holding pattern for this vector::

Hunter Matheson -> We are approaching beacon two... requesting a position in the holding pattern...

Maryse Dubois -> ::Soon finds herself on the bridge.::

Hunter Matheson -> ::tap... tap tap:::

William Chocox -> ::starts looking over diagnostic reports::

Hunter Matheson -> Holding pattern achieved.

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> ::She nodded to Swain and sent a few inquiries to several of the non-command contacts they had on the station, drumming her fingers as she waited for a response.::

Hunter Matheson -> ::thinking he hears "Welcome to Camelot Station. You are currently 53rd in line. Your patience is appreciated. Thank you.":::

Hunter Matheson -> ::elevator music::

Rhan K'hal -> :: blips the smaller ships nearby in holding, giving the universal signal for "Big Starfleet ship coming in, watch your pattern unless you want to be an abstract decoration on the hull" ::

Cptn Swain -> ::Glances at the sensor read out on his chair console:: Is that the Fuso and the Midway?

Tandaris Admiran -> ::this is actually the most time he has spent in engineering since his return::

Rhan K'hal -> :: checks :: Aye, Cap.

Maryse Dubois -> ::Watching the screen.:: Camelot a little busy today?

Cptn Swain -> ::Looks a bit more unsettled:: Both Galaxy-classes?

Rhan K'hal -> Understatement, Doc.

Hunter Matheson -> ::hearing the exchange, but not hearing it:::

Rhan K'hal -> Both Galaxies, aye. Isn't the Fleet mostly using those as transports now?

Cptn Swain -> Well, out here they've been assigned more... detached rolls with the fleet. Midway was on a long-term science mission last time I'd heard.

Tandaris Admiran -> ::weird sense of nostalgia and foreboding::

Hunter Matheson -> ::adjusting holding to keep clear of small craft that seem to not have a clue:::

Rhan K'hal -> Looks like heavy patrols around here too, there are 6 Steamrunners on the outer boundaries of the system.

Maryse Dubois -> Why do I feel we're missing something? :;Watching the ship movements.::

Cptn Swain -> ::Frowns deeper, puts his tea down::

Rhan K'hal -> :: moves over to the auxiliary tac station to the Captain's left so he can get a better overview of things ::

Rhan K'hal -> :: grim smile at Maryse :: You're not the only one, Doc.

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> Because it seems we are, Doctor. ::Noting Maryse.::

William Chocox -> Wonder what we're going to find at Camelot.

Tandaris Admiran -> ::grumbles:: Probably going to send us off on some fool mission they can give to Swain because he keeps saying the wrong things to the wrong people.

Maryse Dubois -> ::Catches the sight of a hospital ship she is quiet familiar with in the shadow of the station.:: Saving Grace...

Hunter Matheson -> ::checking station flight control directives::

Tandaris Admiran -> ::Chocox:: You said that my being here would help Commander Hawthorne … but what about you? The mission I signed us onto didn’t exactly go well for you.

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> ::Frowning at her screen, she glanced back to Swain.:: From what our non-official channels can gather, the refugees are from nearby sectors that are under Dominion control. There has, apparently, been a change in leadership. Perhaps infighting?

Hunter Matheson -> Captain, station flight operations has opened a third holding ring that is less crowded. Permission to join the new pattern.

Cptn Swain -> ::Nods to Hunter::

William Chocox -> ::shrugs:: It's not your fault.

William Chocox -> Unless you dicked with the transporters.

Cptn Swain -> ::Glances to Miranda again:: Why wouldn't Arden have told me that? ::Frowns:: That's not good though.

Hunter Matheson -> Thank you, sir. ::adjusts:: Moving out to third holding ring.

Rhan K'hal -> Long range sensors indicate more traffic, freighters and civilian transports, coming in from those direction so this *vague motion at the front viewer* looks to be just the tip of the iceberg.

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> Maybe they don't yet have enough information? It seems a bit chaotic... like things haven't been properly worked out.

Cptn Swain -> ::Nods:: I suppose -- or he wasn't allowed to over an open comm.

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> Doctor Dubois, do you know anyone currently in command aboard that medical ship?

Cptn Swain -> Rhan... ping CnC and see if you can get a guestimate on when they can park us somewhere.

Rhan K'hal -> Aye, sir.

Maryse Dubois -> What's the status on the refugees? Is medical assistance needed? ::Nods.:: I still have contacts.

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> We don't yet know. Send a message to whoever you know on the Saving Grace and see if they've been told anything.

William Chocox -> And I'm still alive sir.

Hunter Matheson -> :would suggest orbital parking, but that's iffy at best, considering the traffic and the possibility of increase::

Rhan K'hal -> +Camelot CnC+ :: via text "Respectfully request estimate on docking ETA" ::

Maryse Dubois -> Of course. ::Steps over to a console, taking a seat. She sends a message to the Saving Grace's CO.::

Rhan K'hal -> :: notes that the Hippocrates hasn't been dragged into the Gamma; is happy about that, doesn't want to try explaining his short-cropped fur to his brother ::

Cptn Swain -> CamelotCnC> ::text back:: "A few hours for proper docking, we can maybe get you into one of the orbital docks in an hour or so. We're bringing orbital dock 3 and 4 back online but that will take a little while to get fired up."

Hunter Matheson -> ::close watch on their perimeter::

Rhan K'hal -> Cap'n, looks like an hour at best for an orbital dock, more to get us a regular dock.

Hunter Matheson -> ::activates every running light they have, plus a few warning sensors::

William Chocox -> How's your symbiont?

Cptn Swain -> Busy morning. Orbital dock should be fine.

Rhan K'hal -> Aye, sir, will inform.

Cptn Swain -> We don't have any standing orders yet as near as I can tell.

Tandaris Admiran -> ::Chocox:: About as healthy as I can be.

Tandaris Admiran -> The physical damage has healed …

Maryse Dubois -> I'm getting a reply back from my contact. ::Reads.:: Seems like there are uprisings on all nearby Dominion held systems.

Rhan K'hal -> +Camelot CnC+ :: via text "orbital will suffice, will remain in holding pattern 3" ::

Maryse Dubois -> There are numerous injuries and fatalities...

Rhan K'hal -> :: eep ::

William Chocox -> I'm sorry.

Cptn Swain -> ::Stands, dropping his tea in the fresher before glancing over Rhan's shoulder::

Hunter Matheson -> ::only half hearing bridge chatter as he fights to keep an eye on the pattern, since some apparently don't know what a "pattern" is and it's not modifiable by whim::

Tandaris Admiran -> In a way, this is the best thing that has happened to me in a long time.

Cptn Swain -> ::Frowns:: Iapetus and the Atlas... bringing in the heavy guns.

William Chocox -> Oh really?

Rhan K'hal -> :: nods ::

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> Three or four hours? ::She glanced from Swain to Maryse and back again.:: If there are injured, more refugees coming in, couldn't we be doing something better than sitting here waiting for a docking ring to open up?

Cptn Swain -> ::Turns:: Thoughts?

Maryse Dubois -> ::Frowns:: There must be more going on than simply taking in refugees. With all of these guns here, Starfleet must feel there could be an imminent strike.

Hunter Matheson -> ::raises his hand, kind of:::

Maryse Dubois -> We could offer our services with medical aid. My team is ready, and we can convert cargo bays easily enough.

Cptn Swain -> ::nods to Maryse, then to Hunter:: Yes?

Hunter Matheson -> Captain, the holding patterns are crazy enough as it is. With more ships coming in I don't see it getting any better, which probably means that orbital docking isn't going to be that safe, sir

Tandaris Admiran -> The original … accident … that left me with the knowledge and memories of a Scorpiad ship was what caused my career and life to careen out of control.

Tandaris Admiran -> I am now … free … of that burden. I'm just not sure that, having burned some bridges and watched others burn, I am ready to return to this life.

Cptn Swain -> ::Considers, running a hand through his beard thoughtfully::

William Chocox -> Hm...well, I look forward to working with you should you choose to stay.

Cptn Swain -> Miranda... contact Fleet command and let them know we stand ready to assist with the refugees. Have Commander d'Aubgine work with command, we can offer plenty of shuttle service back and forth.

Cptn Swain -> ::Puts a hand on Rhan's shoulder:: Your life just got a little more exciting.

Rhan K'hal -> At this point I'm just happy to get to do something that falls under my job description, Cap

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> ::Nods and sends over a quick message, though doesn't really expect a response. They were probably inundated with communications at the moment.::

Cptn Swain -> Until we hear word, let's start getting ready for that. Maryse and Miranda you can start converting cargo bays into triage.

Hunter Matheson -> ::minor adjustment to avoid a close call:::

Rhan K'hal -> :: starts sending word here, there and everywhere in the various areas under the Operations banner of the various things that need to be done ::

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> Matheson, pull us out of orbit and away from the traffic, but stay within comms range of the station. No reason for us to get banged up in there right now.

Rhan K'hal -> :: leaves the aux tac display on in case Swain wants to continue to peruse the starship collection while he makes his own way over to Mission Ops ::

Hunter Matheson -> Pulling out of orbit, within comm range of the station, aye, sir.

William Chocox -> ::goes and gets a cup of tea:: Can I get anything for you Commander?

Rhan K'hal -> :: scowls, rather belatedly lets CnC know that they're pulling out of holding ::

Hunter Matheson -> ::eases the ship out of the holding pattern, taking a vector that will keep them within comm range but out of harm's way:::

Maryse Dubois -> ::Sends a message to the medical staff to prepare themselves and divide duties between sickbay and the cargo bays.::

Cptn Swain -> Ithene> ::Has been paying attention to the bridge conversation, but is trying to get as mch of the data copied to a secure server on Excalibur so that when they turned it over, they could still have it.:

Tandaris Admiran -> I could go for some coffee.

Tandaris Admiran -> I suspect I will need something stronger once we learn what Starfleet has in store for us next.

Hunter Matheson -> Station keeping, Captain, or station orbit?

Rhan K'hal -> :: puts in a notice to Engineering of the upcoming power needs for the cargo bay medical equipment ::

Cptn Swain -> Station keeping should be fine. With all the traffic, I doubt you'll be able to stay in perfect orbit.

Cptn Swain -> ::Miranda:: And have Tandaris get some damage control teams together. They might need to help the refugee ships with repairs.

William Chocox -> ::grabs a coffee and brings it over to Tandaris:: So, how did the Scorpiad ship wind up inside your brain?

Hunter Matheson -> Coming to station keeping within comm range, out of traffic, Captain.... in five... four...

Hunter Matheson -> three.. two...

Hunter Matheson -> ::parks::

Tandaris Admiran -> Well that is a long story …

Tandaris Admiran -> ::activates the flashback wavey effect::

Cptn Swain -> ::He made a mental note to thank Miranda for the idea. He'd been focused on other issues and let their duty as Starfleet officers kind of slide.::

Hunter Matheson -> ::tap...taptap::tap:: Stationary position achieved. Going to station keeping.

Tandaris Admiran -> It all started back when Captain Corizon was in command of the Excalibur.

Rhan K'hal -> :: gets word that the cargo bay teams are en route and ready to assist medical ::

Tandaris Admiran -> We were investigating a derelict Scorpiad ship. It seemed dead, but we were wrong…

Hunter Matheson -> (A long long time ago?)

Rhan K'hal -> Doc, your teams can begin conversion when ready.

Tandaris Admiran -> ((Corizon's mane was much more lustrous))

Maryse Dubois -> ((Yeah, and I think we were using the defiant class ship at the time.))

Cptn Corizon -> (( It was :( ))

Tandaris Admiran -> ((Were we on the Defiant-class or the Morningstar?))

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> ::She glanced to Maryse.:: Let me know what you need and keep me informed on the progress. I can divert extra hands for setup from other department as needed.

Tandaris Admiran -> Suffice it to say, the ship somehow determined that my symbiont was writeable storage.

Maryse Dubois -> ((Hah, I forgot about the Morningstar.))

Tandaris Admiran -> Fortunately, my symbiont managed to integrate the ship's memories as if they were a past host. That was … strange.

Cptn Corizon -> (( We were actually on an Excelsior class that time! ))

William Chocox -> Hm...sounds...rough.

Tandaris Admiran -> No, no.

Tandaris Admiran -> The rough parts came afterwards.

Tandaris Admiran -> When your own people want to dissect you and Starfleet only protects you as long as you have strategic value for them.

Rhan K'hal -> :: pulls up the various interfaces he'll need, contacts d'A's people to combine their resources on keeping track of the impending comings and goings ::

Maryse Dubois -> ::Nods to Miranda.:: We may need to call in to the station to get some supplies if necessary, but we should have most of it.

William Chocox -> Damn.

Tandaris Admiran -> Now you might understand why I am not so enthusiastic about being "back."

Cptn Swain -> ::Miranda:: I am going to head to the station and see what I can find out about what's going on -- you seem to have everything under control.

Rhan K'hal -> Gunny, can you reorient to 312 mark 4, will present a better route to our shuttlebay.

William Chocox -> Yeah...sorry...

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> ::She nodded to Swain.:: Aye, Captain.

Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> We'll continue to prepare for possible rescue mission and will contact you if we hear anything else.

Hunter Matheson -> Reorienting to three one two mark four, aye.

Hunter Matheson -> ::tap..tap:: scoots over:::

Hunter Matheson -> And... reorientation achieved. Holding position. Going to station keeping.

Rhan K'hal -> Thanks, Gunny.

Hunter Matheson -> Aye, sir.

Cptn Swain -> ::Nods and heads for a lift::

Cptn Swain -> ...two minute warning...

Cptn Swain -> ::Enters the lift, taps his commbadge, which anyone could hear just as the lift closes:: +Corizon+ Captain, meet me in transporter room 2.

Rhan K'hal -> :: starts marking things off a checklist ::

Rhan K'hal -> :: check, check, check, check :: Operations stands ready, Commander.
