See, people seem to assume there was something sexual behind that picture.. when it wasn't.

 

I'm actually kind of offended by the assumption. It was supposed to be an ad, like a TV ad for the sim. She wasn't remotely underclothed, the lyrics had NOTHING to do with anything like that.. it was to express her character's SOUL. F-R-I-C-K-I-N A!

 

I'm extremely disappointed right now. I'm not mad at anyone.. but, jeez... look at it for what it was:.. it was supposed to be nice.

It was a good poster Ruca and very TV-like one.  Music quote seemed a bit odd, most would just do a catchphrase, but i'm assuming that's the ruca theme song right?

Ruca, I apologize for misinterpreting your intent.

 

Perhaps it was that I was unfamiliar with the song lyrics ... or perhaps because you almost never see the word 'yearn' in any novel that doesn't have Fabio on the cover ... or perhaps it's just because my mind always has one foot in the gutter ... or maybe it was because changing your signature updates all of your old posts and I saw it for the first time on the thread where the amigos were fighting over who got to see you first in the cheerleader's outfit ...

 

Considering where I saw it first, I thought it was a brilliant satire (as is Sister Cheese, btw).  That's the fun thing about art, everyone gets a different message from it.

 

I took my 13 year old niece to see "Momma Mia" last weekend.  That's a stage musical based on old Abba songs (and yes, insert comments on whether or not Abba is art here).  The play was about a young girl on the eve of her wedding who wanted the father she never knew to walk her down the aisle.  Through the course of the play, you discover how hard it was on the mother to raise her alone and all the sacrifices the mother made in order to provide for her child.  Being on my side of 30, I thought the mother was pretty solid.  My niece was apalled.  "She slept around and kept secrets from her daughter, ugh."  (On a side note, Uncle Moose was very proud of her for forming her own opinoin.  Especially since it wasn't a view demonstrated by any character in the show).

 

Especially here, where you don't have tone of voice or body language, things get misconstrued easily.  But I always think it's interesting to see how people interpret things.
