A Going Away Gift

Set in the two hour TBS before Monday's sim-

Audraya made her way through the corridors of the ship to the Arboretum, the whispering silk of her gown at odds with sound of her pumps on the against the metal deck. While Tifa had been dealing with some pre-departure out-processing, the ship's XO had gotten dressed to the nines.

 

Making her way through the greenery to the gazebo in the back, activated a small recorder and audio player, spending the 15 minutes in proving *why* she'd been a hit a J'bba's, before returning to their quarters and pulling out a piece of stationary.

 

My dearest Tifa,

 

I know you've been upset with me over this temporary duty assignment to the Command School, and I don't blame you one bit. Yeoman O'Reilly still screwed up when he stuck that endorsement letter for my signature in a stack of the usual administrative bull you've seen me muddle through. And his annual evaluation will reflect that.

 

Anyway, the reason for this note is not because of that. It's because I love you deeply, and you've been an anchor for me. And you should fear for the crew while you're gone, because you've kept me from going "Martinet" on them.
