History:

 

Andrea came to the Academy after a long absense from Starfleet. She had served aboard the USS Arcadia years ago as the ships helmsman. However, her father fell ill, and she had to return to Earth to see to his care.

 

After a long illness, Robert Knlwtchr passed away with Andrea at his side. Andrea spent several months mourning his memory and trying to get on with her life. She fell into a deep depression, thinking she was no longer useful. She had spent nearly two years on the best ship in the fleet and had taken care of her closest parent. Those two most important things in her life then gone, she felt worthless and unneeded.

 

Starfleet contacted her a year after her father died and asked her to return for further training and assignment. However, Andrea had already forgotten the gratitude and acceptance she felt while serving with Starfleet and had turned them down. It was then she felt truly alone.

 

Another year would pass before Andrea received a visit from a dear friend and former shipmate who convinced her to get back in the swing. Within the next week, Andrea returned to her forgotten love: Starfleet. She attended counseling sessions, touched up on her medical degree she had received at the Academy, and even decided to take courses in psychiatry.

 

When her graduation came, her friend suggested she rejoin her friends aboard the Arcadia. Andrea agreed, not only because it would mean returning to the friendships she had missed so much, but to serve others as she had been served: as ships counselor. The opening on the Arcadia and the posting available was almost a "calling" for Andrea and she felt she would have been a fool to turn it down.

 

Andrea is now fully back on her feet, has passed all physical and psychological evaluations, and is ready to take on her duties assigned to her onboard the Arcadia.

 

Andrea served as ship Counselor until her promotion as Chief Medical Officer on stardate 10501.05.
