STSF_BluRox -> USS Republic Mission Briefing 51409.15 - Season 22: The USS Republic has been investigating why nothing has been heard from several of the deep space colonies out bordering the Badlands and Cardassian space. In an attempt to see if it were simply a matter of a bad relay station or two, we've stopped to check a few out along the way, and what we found is of grave concern. The major relays for this deep part of our territory have been damaged, show weapons scoring, and have had all transmissions turned away from Federation Space, and most sent back along to their origin. After deciding there is definitely more than a faulty relay station, we are making our way to the nearest of the colonies that has not been heard from.

STSF_BluRox -> Thank you commander, I appreciate your report on the weapons scoring that you had noted. A rather odd collection

LtCmdrRobinson -> Indeed. I think it means we are in for an interesting day.

STSF_BluRox -> Your thoughts on why?

Capt Rian Kwai -> ::shifting in her chair, trying to sift through the reports sent to her console and make sense of it all::

Tory Knight -> ::examining the specimens that were brought back, cross referencing them with known signatures::

LtCmdrRobinson -> Well I doubt this is restricted to just the comm relay. I imagine we'll be finding who did it at one of these colonies. Burn marks were all recent.

STSF_BluRox -> I'm thinking.....not a standard force. We'd all be using the same weapons, Cardassians as well. Unless it's meant to throw us off. So, someone else? Even if were Breen, none of what you saw matched their weapons....thank our lucky stars for that. That was my first thought when we came out this way. So, who else might be out there...let's think.... There were all types that came out here to hide during the war, and after when trying to mop up some of those that had been preying on those being subjugated by first the Cardassians, then the Breen and Dominion. Pirates? Naussicans? And why out here? What's here that anyone would want......not a hotbed for trade by all means, too farm from anything, massive interference from Badlands...

STSF_BluRox -> I agree Will. I want to get to this first colony and before we go making contact, try to get in at as little of a noticeable approach as possible. I'd like to have your boots on the ground to see what's actually going on

Tory Knight -> ::pursing her lips as she looks at the console, brows furrowing::

STSF_BluRox -> Yes, ::nodding to Kwai: but hiding what? That's what we have to figure out

Heather Jamieson -> :: Lots of data, little to draw any solid conclusions from.

LtCmdrRobinson -> Well I would say scavengers by the weapons variety, buy they didn’t take anything from the relay, just messed it up. I'll ask them when we find em.

Capt Rian Kwai -> Yeah, you do that, Will

Tory Knight -> ::knowing who made the weapons, and trying to figure out who fired them... quite a puzzle to figure::

STSF_BluRox -> Well, we'll be at Ambrose 9 in about 9 hours at current speed. I suggest you and your team get some rest, then prepare for an away mission. But I’m serious...you've all just gotten back from the relays stations...rest for you all...now

Capt Rian Kwai -> ::mutters something under her breath in Trill before answering about Ms Knight:: I believe Ms Knight is still sorting through the data.

Tory Knight -> ::not satisfied with the scoring samples alone, moves to look at some of the soil and debris samples that were brought back::

LtCmdrRobinson -> +August+ Correct, but it was worth a shot.

STSF_BluRox -> Yea, they brought back quite a bit. Well, there was always hoping for the easy answer. One of these days, just once. that would be nice, huh?

August Jax Robinson -> ::Logs off and heads to the lift::

STSF_BluRox -> I have to get everyone to relax around here.....maybe after this mission, we'll take a side trip to......oh say.....Risa?

Capt Rian Kwai -> Anything I can do to help?

Tory Knight -> If I were to take a black light to the area I believe it would look like some sort of post-modern, pre-Eugenics art. I've plenty of samples, but no way to determine whether the mud was tracked in by our people or by the attackers.
