Ignore feature...

Hello. I'm just wondering if there's an ignore feature to these boards to block member posts? Just curious ;)

that would be really strange and distracting in a message board :D

Dunno. Lots of other message boards have them. Kind of like the "ignore" feature in a chat room on AOL.

An Ignore feature? On a message board? Is this some kind of joke?

Seriosly, I'm just wondering why we would have an Ignore feature. Message boards and Chat Rooms are two different things. They wew based on the same principle, but on a message board with an Ignore feature, posts would be completely ignored, meaning that we would be plunged into a Chat Room era, and nobody wants that.  :D

Hmm agreed it is odd. but it's true. however i don't think it really has a need to be used on a board like stsf which is pretty tame MOST the time

Although I wish I could ignore some of the people on this board sometimes (I'm not naming names.) I think overall it would be more harm than good.  If I'm reading a topic and have every 3rd poster ignored then I won't understand what the people replying (either through the Reply feature or directly) are saying.

Vanroy, thank you! You guys and gals need to see that an ignore feature WOULD NOT be appropriate with STSF or any kind of fourm. People, just realize this and you will live happily ever after. Then again...maybe not.  :D

I just pray that the NUDITY NUDITY NUDITY NUDITY guy never joins STSF - and for those who don't know what I'm talking about, consider yourself lucky.

Since I'm sure there will be some questions, I'm talking about a guy who used to appear in the chat rooms with some disgusting name and flood the rooms with bright red "NUDUTY NUDITY NUDITY" that would fill the entire page.  Startrek.com finally smartened up and disabled the cut-n-paste feature which seems to have ended the problem.  Unfortunately it also means we can't do the same.  Bummer, this feature did come in handy as a cadet.

Come to think of it, he *did* make the minimum required 3 cadet sims...    :D

hmmmm, he was obviously trying to tell us about a magical place he'd been to, one day we'll know.
