RES TALON MISSION BRIEFING 51404.17 – SEASON 19

AS THE TALON GETS CLOSER TO THE XHUJ SYSTEM, SENSORS PICKED UP SEVERAL QUIRKS OF THIS REGION; TINY NEBULA, ASTEROID FIELDS, SMALL PLANETOIDS.....ALL....POTENTIAL TRAPS OR HAZARDS.... AS KOGA POWERED UP THE SHEILDS, IT UNFORTUNATELY DROPPED THE CLOAKING DEVICE, AS IS STANDARD WITH THE RIHANNSU DESIGN, ALLOWING THE STINGER TO PRESENT ITSELF FOR ALL TO SEE....... APPROXIMATELY 8 OTHAN SHIPS DECLOAK AND MADE WAY TOWARDS THE STINGER. THE THREE LEAD SHIPS HAVE LAUNCHED TORPEDOS AT THE STINGER’S LOCATION, WHILE THE OTHERS START TO FLANK AROUND TO EITHER SIDE. 2 OF THE TORPEDOS HAVE HIT THE STINGER AND ROCK IT HARD, CAUSING SHIELDS TO HAVE DROPPED TO 73%.

ACTION: STINGER IS HIT AGAIN BY TWO OF THE FLANKING SHIPS, SHIELDS DROP TO 56%

ACTION: AS Stinger returns fire, several of the ships cloak and go on the hunt while 3 continue a direct course of herding the Stinger where they want it.

ACTION: TALON DECLOAKS AND FIRES TOWARDS THE NEAREST OF THE PURSUIT SHIPS

 

Koga S'Bien -> I see that ::initiates Plan D, and guns the engines towards the asteroid field/nebula::

ACTION: TALON HAS DRAWN THE ATTENTION OF 2 OF THE UNCLOAKED SHIPS, WHICH NOW TURN TOWARD IT. HOWEVER, THE OTHER 5 SHIPS ARE CURRENTLY UNKNOWN...

 

Koga S'Bien -> ::uses all that power to accelerate out of the main battle::

ACTION: AS TALON ENGAGES THE TWO SHIPS, TWO MORE DECLOAK AND FIRE AT TALON, HITTING ITS SHIELDS HARD. TALON SHEILDS DROP TO 87%.

ACTION: A SINGLE DECLOAKED SHIP CONTINUES TO PURSUE STINGER, CLOAKED SHIPS STATUS UNKNOWN........

 

Laehval tTemarr -> What's the status of our systems? How much power do we have? This ship has a few tricks up its sleeve, but we're going to need power to use them.

ACTION: AS THE 4 WHEEL TOWARDS THE TALON, INTENT TO REAP MAJOR DAMAGE UPON THE D'deridex ship before them, Terronix decloaks and fires point blank at one of the fighters that had decloaked, disabling its propulsion drive.

ACTION: TWO SHIPS DECLOAK AND BEGIN TO FIRE AT THE TERRONIX

ACTION: THE SHIP TRAILING THE STINGER HAS AN EXTREMELY GOOD PILOT, AND HAS BEEN EVADING t'Aehjae's shots MEANWHILE, TALON AND TERRONIX DO A CONVOLUTED DANCE OF TRYING TO AVOID THEIR ATTACKERS AND NOT HIT EACH OTHER AS WELL, WHILE KEEPING THEIR ATTACKERS BUSY TO ALLOW STINGER TO MOVE TO SAFETY

ACTION: BOTH TALON AND TERRONIX HAVE TAKEN MORE SHIPS DUE TO THE SHEAR NUMBER OF THIER ATTACKERS AND HAVE MOVED TO BETTER PROTECT EACH OTHER. TERRONIX TAKES OUT ONE OF THE OTHAN FIGHTERS, WHILE BOTH SHIPS SUSTAIN FURTHER HITS. TALON SHEILDS DOWN TO 68%, TERRONIX SHIELDS DOWN TO 74%.

Koga S'Bien -> Trying to reel them in and perform the burst to reveal as much of them as we can. But yes, I don't want to fall into their trap just as much as you don't

 

ACTION: STINGER IS APPROACHING THE NEBULA, WHILE THE ONE SHIP ON IT'S TAIL CONTINUES TO FIRE AND CLOSE GROUND

 

Laehval tTemarr -> This ship is faster and far more maneuverable. S'Bien, keep them on their toes.

tAehjae -> This pilot is good ..having trouble getting a good shot on it.

Koga S'Bien -> Hopefully this ship's pilot is just as good too.

M_K_tKsa -> Are they using any sort of pattern you can use against them?

Koga S'Bien -> ::increasing speed and evading as best he can, monitoring the ship's pattern:: It seems to be a standard pursuit tactic. Text book snare and trap by the looks of it. They'll wait until we're just about to reach the nebula and bring us into their trap.

M_K_tKsa -> I thought all pilots had some sort of pattern they used.

Koga S'Bien -> Yes, every pilot has their own special pattern to trap a ship in.

Koga S'Bien -> I know I have several.

M_K_tKsa -> So look deeper. Try to predict where they'll be instead of trying to fire at where they are currently if they're dodging you.

M_K_tKsa -> Because tehy doing a fine job of doing that to us.

ACTION: Of the 8 ships 'known' to our taskforce, 5 were the same make as Stinger. Terronix destroyed one of those, leaving 4 'Stinger class' and 3 regular fighters. Talon and Terronix have 3 of the Stinger class engaged along with 3 of the other normal fighters

ACTION: Tachyon burst from the Stinger affects its pursuer, and as they fire their weapon, the ship takes heavy damage. Propulsion is off line

ACTION: STINGER HAS STOPPED THE SHIP PURSUING THEM IN THEIR TRACKS.....
