RES Talon Mission Briefing 51404.10 - Season 19

The Talon, Terronix and Stinger continue towards home. Preliminary tactical suggest that if we have a weak spot along our journey, it will be at Xhuj. We have just passed between the Tiber and Sammar systems and are in a rather empty portion of space...just lots of asteroid fields, nebulas and places to hide. The Stinger has been given orders if things get back, to cloak and leave the area, it must be preserved over the fate of either the Talon or the Terronix.

Koga S'Bien -> Shields are at full power, as are our weapons. We also have full charge for our special weapons. Cloak should also be running at full power as well, though au might want to confirm that with Pexil to be sure.

Anything tying it specifically to the Othan? Besides the materials its hull is made of? Any additional surprises we should know about and can utilize, such as that weapons burst we saw in the last attack?

Laehval tTemarr -> ::Turns to Pexil.:: The Othans were quite excessive with their relay network, but that's to be expected with this many specialized systems crammed into one tiny vessel.

tAehjae -> At least it looks as if there are plenty of hiding places around here if need be.

Koga S'Bien -> Most definitely. This would be the best spot for an ambush.

Laehval tTemarr -> +t'Rex+ Ie, rekkhai. We've learned a little about this ship. There are several other specialized weapon systems and something that might be related to inter-warp weaponry. There is still much that remains a mystery to us. Some of the components utilized to create several systems are very rare and can be traced to specific systems, many of which are in the Othan's sector. We can na definitively say that they created it, but it is a high possibility, given the specialized materials and trace minerals. We were also able to collect trace DNA samples from engineering, which science may use to tie to specific individuals.

M_K_tKsa -> +tr'Pexil+ You want to come up here and talk with Koga and t'Aehjae. I want to make sure we have enough power to either cloak or run if we deploy that weapon of Koga's again.

 

KhreRiovtRex -> @+tTemarr+ Excellent job as always. Your report will be most valuable once we are able to get this ship and your report turned over to Galae. Now...we just need to make sure we are able to get there. I suspect that we'll have some friends eventually that will not be so pleased with the idea of us making it back. The Othan, mercenaries, possibly the Tal Shiar....both ours and theirs...I have a feeling we'll have to depend somewhat on what you've been able to discover about that ship. Koga S'Bien -> ::focus on piloting the Stinger, but programs in a few scenarios for attack and plans accordingly::

Koga S'Bien -> ::wants to use the Stinger's quick speed and maneuverability as much as possible, hoping not to have to rely on the mega weapons too much as they drain a lot of energy::

Laehval tTemarr -> ::She turned back to Pexil, eyebrows rising.:: Make certain to tell them what we've learned. I am typing up a report for t'Ksa's use, but au can relay the message faster if au are traveling to the Oira.

tAehjae -> :: looks to Koga:: We are watching for any signs of trouble and if something does show itself we are going to try to use more of this vessels maneuverability and stealth rather the larger weapons that take so much energy

tAehjae -> :: waits for Koga to complete or correct her if needed::

Koga S'Bien -> I have preprogrammed a wide variety of evasive patterns into the navigational computers. As Talon and Teronix will provide us cover, we can use the Stinger's maneuverability to our advantage and try to see if we can either speed away or try to get optimal firing positions, depending on the situation.

M_K_tKsa -> What about places to hide? Trajectory to get us home the fastest? How long before we have to pull out of a situation? Or how big does it have to get before we have to pull out?

 

ACTION:: AS THE TALON GETS CLOSER TO THE XHUJ SYSTEM, OUR SENSORS ARE STARTING TO PICK UP THE QUIRKS OF THIS REGION, ALL THE TINY NEBULA, ASTEROID FIELDS AND SMALL PLANETOIDS.....ALL....POTENTIAL TRAPS OR HAZARDS....

Koga S'Bien -> ::Looks at sensor readings:: I have those trajectories plotted in. There are plenty of asteroids, nebulas and star clusters that will provide us ample space for hiding. As for a pull out? Would depend on how big the Othan attack fleet is, but if it is a big armada, like six or more of their biggest ships, best just to high tail it and run to ch'Rihan.
