STSF_BluRox -> USS Republic Mission Briefing 51402.17 - Season 22 On the ship, Kwai and Heather are investigating the satellite network that seems to have hidden the planet from view of any ship passing by. On the planet, Jax and Will have been reunited in the Gorn storeroom and are both still recovering from the knock-out vapor; while Blu, Christiana, Ayumu have accompanied their Gorn "host/captor" to tour their underground capital city. What will be the outcome of being shown this city? Will we be made to remain, will the ship attempt a rescue, or will the Gorn 'silence' us all before anyone else can find out?

STSF_BluRox -> Zolgoss, this is an amazing feat....how long did it take you to do this...

LtCmdrRobinson -> and I was saving everyone else? ::laughs::

Heather Jamieson -> @ Right Captain.

Zolgoss> ::turns and looks at them, then sweeps his arm around in an arc:: This....is the work of a good 40 years of burrowing, excavating, and installing the technological infrastructure needed to support such a society and ......to keep in touch with the others

Capt Rian Kwai -> @Ops, see if you can hail the away team.

August Jax Robinson -> So who is going to save us?

Capt Rian Kwai -> @Jamieson, Jax mentioned a cave complex that the group was navigating. Can you scan the area and see if you can get any sort of entrance or map of any possible caverns?

Zolgoss> Yessss.......:: a bit hesitant:: There are ssseveral. All protected.... and wesssss growss our foods up on the surface. Do not get me wrong, we all enjoy the surface, but history has shown our people how vulnerable we are up there

 

Heather Jamieson -> Ops> Aye. +Away Team+ This is Republic to anyone on the away team, please respond.

LtCmdrRobinson -> We are overdue on comms. Shouldn’t be long now.

August Jax Robinson -> I think they might be happy if we don't comm them

Heather Jamieson -> @ I'll divert scans to that area.

LtCmdrRobinson -> No, without you and I, let’s face it...the ship would be doomed.

STSF_BluRox -> ::turns to Zolgoss:: While I would love to spend time exploring your cities and getting to know your people, you know that we do have an issue that we have to address.

Heather Jamieson -> @ :: Looking at the scans :: I have found an entrance. Scanning into the substrata is proving difficult.

Christina_Nickles -> :: notes they have missed 2 coms at this point since their capture.:::

Heather Jamieson -> @ Ops> Captain, no response from the away team.

Capt Rian Kwai -> @I need something to send to the extraction team. As deep as it goes, whatever the group might encounter, obstructions to weapons, and if a transmission booster can be used.

Heather Jamieson -> @ We could send something at the entrance.

LtCmdrRobinson -> Admiral wants to try diplomacy, so she is off talking it over with these folks right now. I have my doubts though.

Capt Rian Kwai -> @Ops, then get a security team assembled. They've got 20 minutes to get equipped.

Zolgoss> I will send one of these, with a guard to go fetch the other two. They should be safely able to travel now

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::walks beside Nickels as they follow the Admiral and the Gorn:

STSF_BluRox -> ::knows Christina would object if she were sent:: Ayumu, please accompany these guards back in the tram car, and bring Will and Jax here to meet us. Be sure to tell him...no trouble, that all is ok for the moment.

Ayumu Kasuga -> Yes sir.. ::knows that'll be a tall order:: .. I'll do my best.

August Jax Robinson -> (w) should we make a run for it?

Christina_Nickles -> :: nods in agreement to the choice but remains silent::

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::heads back to accompany the guards::

LtCmdrRobinson -> ::shakes head:: No I think we should wait a few more minutes and then cause chaos and mayhem if the Admiral doesn’t come back.

STSF_BluRox -> Zolgoss, my ship won't wait much longer. They will send others. You must give us back our combadges so that we can contact them. They will not believe that we 'all' felling to that bottomless pit. Me maybe, Jax and Ayumu maybe

Christina_Nickles -> Sir we follow the Admirals orders. If she orders us not to discuss this place then we will not. My apologies admiral :: lowers her head and steps back behind her::

Capt Rian Kwai -> @Do you have any ideas that are not theoretical?

STSF_BluRox -> ::looks at Christina:: turns back to Zolgoss:: We have a Prime Directive. If your people do not want contact, or visitors, we can mark the planet or the area as off limits. We will no tinterfer with your progress

Zolgoss> And, the best way to peak someone's interest, isssss to tell them no, that they can not. Look at my young assssissstant....................... headstrong.

August Jax Robinson -> I am shocked you haven't killed anything yet

LtCmdrRobinson -> We lack tactical advantage at the moment. These guys are like cave ninjas.

Capt Rian Kwai -> @Then the retrieval team will need to know the geology. Using scanners, can you give a least a general outline of the cavern. A sort of a map?

Zolgoss> Some of the council really do want to make you dissssappear down the hole.........

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::Riding in the tram with the guards::

LtCmdrRobinson -> *I* didn’t see they coming. So yeah.

Zolgoss> I had suggested that after your ship gave up looking for you, if they did not take back their shuttle, that we destroy it so that you live quietly here in peace. We would settle you away from us, or...if you planned to contribute, you could live here with us.....in peace....

Heather Jamieson -> @ I am compiling them now. The deeper the go the less accurate.

 

ACTION: Heather's scans pick up a vague outline of some sort of underground transit system

 

August Jax Robinson -> ::Hears the Tram coming, but not sure what the sound is since she hasn't seen it yet::

 

ACTION: Ayumu's tramcar returns to its original location, and the guards’ motion for her to exit the car and proceed down the corridor to the store room:

 

Christina_Nickles -> :: holding her tongue... wanting to say she doesn’t want to live there but go back to their vessel.::

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::Nods and follows the guards back to the store room::

Heather Jamieson -> @ :: sends the data of the cavern configuration to the team about to beam down. ::

August Jax Robinson -> ::Looks at Will:: What's that noise?

Zolgoss> That may have been a worthwhile idea at one point, and I do appreciate the fact that you were looking for a solution not to just slaughter us and be done with us to protect your people, but this is what we do. We search for new civilizations, new worlds. Not to conquer, but to learn from. To live with in peace. Let us go back, and I give you my word, I will see that your world is protected.

LtCmdrRobinson -> ::shrugs::

ACTION: Guards open the door to the storeroom and motions for Ayumu to get the others and bring them with him to the tram

 

Ayumu Kasuga -> They are further inside the colony. The Admiral would like you both to accompany us back there. ::motions at the guards::

Capt Rian Kwai -> @Okay, Ops. One more try wth the away team. Then we sound down the Calvary.

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::preferably without shooting anybody::

ACTION: Though the team has had their combadges taken away, somehow Jax's tricorder was forgotten in all the fuss. As she set it to silence to incoming calls, she did activate the "please stand by button"

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::mental sigh of relief as they head back to the tram::

STSF_BluRox -> Gorn Guards> :: motions for them to move along...making sure to keep Will in front of them, and their weapons trained on that one::

Heather Jamieson -> @Ops :: awaits :: Nothing yet

Capt Rian Kwai -> ((Should have picked up at least a signal of Jax's com with that Action statement. maybe not a response, but an open line))

Christina_Nickles -> :: whispers to the Admiral:: Sir do you think they will let us go?

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::enters the tram, takes a seat::

Heather Jamieson -> @Ops> a channel was opened, but no response

 

STSF_BluRox -> Just let me negotiate, and you keep Will and Jax calm once they get here. I've not died ......::: trails off:: yet...:: permanently that is. If they've not killed us yet, then they are having 2nd thoughts. We'll be fine

STSF_BluRox -> (heather, Jax is having computer issues, hold on, she said she turned off the sound so they didn't take her phone away))

Capt Rian Kwai -> @That's something more than we had earlier. ::frowning:: Send down the retrieval team. However, they are not to enter the cave until I give the order.

STSF_BluRox -> (and she got her curser back on the right part of the screen...yea!)

STSF_BluRox -> (oh god, not with the prisoner of love stuff again.....that sappy crap has to wait until it's Valentine’s day again next year)

ACTION: Ayumu and the others enter the tram, and it whizzes off to head into the city

 

Capt Rian Kwai -> @I don't want to wait too much longer. At least with the team on the planet surface, we've shaved off some time.

Zolgoss> Come, I want to show you some more of the city while we wait for the others to join us at the Council chambers. They should be back here in a few of your minutes by tram.

August Jax Robinson -> ::whispers:: where are we going? To the dissection room?

LtCmdrRobinson -> No they usually don’t let you walk under your own power for that

Zolgoss> Now, if we just go down this way, we'll show you our waste water treatment plant, hydroponic's bays and after all of that, a viewing of some of our fine art, followed by a meal grown with the labors of our own hands.

August Jax Robinson -> how do you know?! ::Starts squeezing his hand tighter::

STSF_BluRox -> (he's probably remembering that time I got wheeled in and they tried to gut me, til he saved me)

 

 

STSF_BluRox -> ::Waves for Christina to follow along:: These are mostly scientists and farmers, I don’t' think we have to worry about too much violence from them. Now, if we run into one of their old military leaders... ::pauses as they come around the corner, and run into a very large Gorn, carrying a large, menacing looking weapon and several decorations around his neck.

LtCmdrRobinson -> We'll be fine. Things are way to diplomatic right now for dissections

August Jax Robinson -> {w} I am scared ::Looks up at Will::

Zolgosss> Ah...and this is 'our' military leader, he too, will have a say in how this day will end......

Heather Jamieson -> @ops> there is no direct response

Capt Rian Kwai -> @Heather, can you speculate when this whole network was established. And how long ago that first satellite was damaged?

 

ACITON: The tram arrives and the team is being escorted to Blu's location.

Heather Jamieson -> Sorry I'm having issues here.

STSF_BluRox -> Ok, so the other team's tram has travled to our location, and they are being escorted to us. They will be with us by the start of the next sim.
