STSF_BluRox -> USS Republic Mission Briefing 51307.29 - Season 21 Security has been hunting down the escaped miner that escaped from the stolen shuttle that security had tractor beamed back aboard the Republic, just as it set down on the deck, and he's managed to hide himself in the midst of the other refugees. Using transporter logs and word of mouth from the other refugees, security believes that they have found the offender and are in the process of taking him down and subduing him. If it is...indeed him. Meanwhile, the comet is reeking havoc on the Hovious System and before we lost long range sensors from that system, there was positive evidence of some sort of subspace disturbance. We only hope that the tear is not too big.

Ayumu Kasuga -> The tears are not a significant threat right now, but they will be if this rate of growth persists.

STSF_BluRox -> ::Looks over at Kasuga:: May not be able to pick up much there, since Science has determined all the local long range sensors in that system are down

STSF_BluRox -> But keep scanning the local, as you should be able to shortly pick up other readings that will give us an indication of what may be going on

Capt Rian Kwai -> I just checked in with him. They think they've caught the guy. They're on the way to the brig to verify his identity. I've asked Robinson to check in with me once he's done.

Heather Jamieson -> :: Arrives next to Knight and takes an adjacent console :: So, subspace tears hindering long range sensors? What range do we have?

Tory Knight -> ::the other console is troubleshooting the LRS system, running the pathways to determine the issue::

STSF_BluRox -> Good, we don't need to deal with that problem when we're already dealing with this comet issue

Heather Jamieson -> :: A series of hickeys are all over Heather, presumably all over ::

Christina_Nickles -> :: goes over to a console and brings up the shuttle security tape::

Heather Jamieson -> :: Studying the sensor readings from a time before the loss to now, playing then back and forth on all subspace bands ::

Tory Knight -> We have no range. Those models are based on the tears prior to the sensors being blown. ::frowning at the screen as the program continues to trace the connections::

Christina_Nickles -> Sir I have the tape queued. Do you wish to view it now?

Tory Knight -> My best guess is that the blast radius took out sensors. I've seen nothing that indicates any sort of subspace interference. Yet.

Heather Jamieson -> :: Cocks her head at the console readings. :: And with an engineering lockdown repairs, if possible, will be sometime off.

STSF_BluRox -> (note, we already determined in sim 2 weeks ago, that the comet hitting the some of the dilitium reserves ignited some of the area, we had lost all the long range sensor buoys, and that we were picking up some distortions indicative of some Subspace issues, so...just as a recap.. there you have it)

Heather Jamieson -> :: Watches Knight head to her office. Starts to formulate a plan to confirm sensors on our end. ::

Tory Knight -> ::in her office, boots up the terminal and the program that was running on the other terminal, checking all relays for the long range sensors::

Ayumu Kasuga -> +Jax+ The ship's shields have spared the shuttles from any damage from the explosion. I'm not detecting any damage in relation to the explosion. Though the shuttle Heather crash landed into the bay may need some attention.

Heather Jamieson -> After release by Kasuga the landing came in hot, hit the deck plating and almost, and I said almost into the wall. I will repair it all myself.

LtCmdrRobinson -> +Kwai+ I've just confirmed we've got our shuttle thief in custody. Charges pending your approval.

Capt Rian Kwai -> ((Moral of the story - don't say your shuttle needs to make an emergency landing when you don't need to....::glances at the two shuttle occupants: :))

August Jax Robinson -> I don't understand why your shuttle was moving at that speed... what were you thinking?

Heather Jamieson -> It was a release at a high velocity from Kasuga's warp capable shuttle. The reaction control thrusters weren't as able to slow the shuttle down as I thought.

Heather Jamieson -> I was also thinking we had little time. Only 60 seconds at full stop.
