STSF_BluRox -> USS Republic Mission Briefing 51307.01 - Season 21 The USS Republic has been tasked, along with any other ship in the area to help with the evacuation of the Hovius Asteroid Belt. Currently one of the Federations largest mining operations involving Dilitium and other valuable ores needed to further spaceflight and exploration. The monstrous comet had drawn near enough that gravitational waves are beginning to affect ships in the region and the Admiral has called for a cessation of rescue and salvage efforts and has ordered the fleet to get underway and get everyone they were able to pull out, to a safer location. However, the size of this comet hitting that much dilithium could rupture subspace in this region for an unknown amount of time if things go badly.

STSF_BluRox -> Well...::points at screen at giant comet:: Daystrom Institute suspects that when that comet hits that huge mass of dilitium ore in that asteroid field...they suspect that it may tear subspace back enough to disrupt space travel in this and several surrounding sectors for decades at least

Tory Knight -> ::furrows her brow, thinking that didn't make sense, as the dilithium was in a natural, unpurified state and much more stable::

STSF_BluRox -> You.....get to figure out how to stop that, or how to repair it.....feel free to contact them if you want them to run any simulations. They can't run from there cause they are not close enough to monitor the changing dynamics of this asteroid field. You...however are.

Heather Jamieson -> & The trouble is what reaction the dilithium has with the comet.. May be powerful enough to send waves into subspace, then it will travel very fast towards us.
