Stardate 2261.57
Captains Personal Log

Captains Personal Log, Stardate 2261.57, Ashton Calestorm recording…

Our escort mission continues to go well. The cargo has not exploded, leaked or otherwise infected anyone so I consider this a good thing. I've not set foot on the dang transport nor do I intend to do so and yes I’m being downright cowardly.

The Comanche Creek is currently deployed in a stealth pattern across the final sectors, also known as sneaking. Sneaking with a Kelvin-class Destroyer and a Dolland-class heavy transport with a medical pod attachment is a rather interesting tactical exercise, but as usual the crew is taking the development in stride.

All starfighter patrols have been recalled and maintain stand down status save for the Alert 5 fighters. MARDET anti-boarding teams have been placed on stand down with our Alpha RRF Squad remaining on standby. Communications remain on tight band for ship to ship communications. The staff and crew of the Dover Castle have been working closely with our medical and sciences departments to maintain stability of the viral nasties.

And that brings me to the Black Sparrows. Ah honestly thought the little Petaqs were blown away by the Blue Suns during a turf war, but apparently survived and shifted clan operations here. Several luxury cruise liners have been boarded and ransacked with courier shuttles as secondary targets. The contents of the transport would fetch a hefty sum on the black market, provided the smugglers didn’t infect themselves in the process. Still, we’re not prepared to take any chances.

I’m concerned regarding the response, or rather the lack of a response, from Starfleet Colonial Operations. They’ve been made aware of the Sparrow activity and as of yet have not deployed patrol forces. In my opinion, the SCO director needs to get off his ass and take a more direct approach to the matter especially with civilian vessels being targeted.

We remain four days out from arrival at Cold Station Thirteen. The CS medical director has been informed of our change in course.

End Recording…
