Capt Rian Kwai -> Mission Briefing: The crew of the Republic has received special invitation from Cultural Ambassador Imen: A VIP tour of the Icelea Grotto, one of Risa’s little known unusual geological wonders. Admiral BluRox heads up an away team consisting the senior staff members (aka – all active players except Kwai) to explore these unusual caverns via a specially designed transportation craft. One minor glitch has been discovered however. When exposed to the heat and humidity inside the cavern’s entrance, combined with the medication all ready administered, our poor group of “green” girls are suffering from some unfortunate dermatological issues. We can only hope that this too will fade over time.

Capt Rian Kwai -> Smith> In the event of a sudden loss of cabin pressure, masks will descend from the ceiling. Stop screaming, grab the mask, and pull it over your face. If you have a small child, or someone acting like a child, traveling with you, secure your mask before assisting with theirs. If you are traveling with more than one small child pick your favorite.

There are exits in the aft compartment, and to the port and starboard sides of the vehicle lit by emergency lighting. If you can’t find the emergency lighting, I’m sorry to say you’re going to die... ::deadpans::

Capt Rian Kwai -> Smith> While this vehicle is equipped with 24 hour emergency life support, we should be prepared for an emergency evacuation. Emergency cooling packs are available under your seats that should provide you with 2 hours of comfort in the harsh unforgiving environment of the cavern. If in the case of an emergency evacuation, please pull down on the red tab, yank out the cooling vest and air mask and take it along with our compliments. Oh and please pray that a relief vehicle is coming very soon.

Capt Rian Kwai -> Gravois> Instead of the traditional rock formations, the formations within the caverns large crystal rocks. Some as clear as ice. Others sparkling like diamonds.

STSF_BluRox -> I’m sure that if this is a vacation spot, that they will have had some sort of safety inspections in place...at least

Capt Rian Kwai -> Gravois> ::to the crew:: The Grotto is on an ancient fault and there is an underground magma chamber below the cave. The magma heated the ground water and it became saturated with minerals, including large quantities of gypsum. The hollow space of the cave was filled with this mineral-rich hot water and remained filled for about 500,000 years. During this time, the temperature of the water remained very stable at over 50 °C. This allowed crystals to form and grow to immense sizes.

Capt Rian Kwai -> We think a volcanic eruption on the other side of the island affected the water table, causing the grotto caverns to drain.

STSF_BluRox -> Did security check with the Risan's about the safety of the Grotto and any evacuation procedures?
