A team of Marines led by Kimiko and Dr Hanson investigate the last known whereabouts of the missing reporter. After noticing the tracker placed on her vehicle the day before, they notice some erratic readings and its sudden disappearance. Starting at a secluded area in front of Cape Kennedy, the team notices a blood trail, a blood stained rock and a phaser in the grass. Following the tire tracks leading back into the road after that, the team eventually finds its way to a dirt track some miles away, leading to a cliff overlooking the St. John River. A Marine Dive Team confirms their suspicions and retreives the reporter's body and other things. Meanwhile, the rest of the time continues their roles and the folks in the VAB continue to deal with the aftermath of the fire that took place there.
