Best of Both Worlds has to be the best.  First off, it's the only one here that was actually presented as a 2-parter.

More than that, however, Best of Both Worlds saved the franchise from extinction.  That was he episode that caused people to take The Next Generation seriously.  Were it not for that episode there would have been no First Contact and no Enterprise.

Hey there,

I'm not sure if without Best of Both Worlds the franchise wouldn't have continued. However, I do think of the options above this is/was the best two-part episode.

Part of the reason is that it can never be done again. By that I mean, this was in a day where there were no Internet rumors or spoilers. The assimilation of Picard and the actions that followed were a total surprise. You didn't know what was going to happen next, no one did. That audience reaction is hard to duplicate a second time. :(

no its not fred not if you were to tell people you are doing a certain episode and give screen pics and everything for it and actually do another show completly differant then the old one baffling the viewers. :( I think too much :D

I think I must agree with Tovan.

I like all episodes with The Q, spacial anomalies and temporal interaction (==> Star Trek Generations ::(: ) and All Good Things covers that all

Hey there,

I have to disagree. Why? Because Paramount and the Executive Producers have tried numerous times to create a similiar fan reaction. They have yet to get anywhere near the response they've wanted. :)

Best of Both World, definitely.

Picard: "I am Locutus, of Borg. Resistance is futile. Your life as it has been is over. From this time forward, you will service...US"

Riker: "Fire, Mr. Worf."

[nothing happens]

Picard: "Your resistance is hopeless...Number One."

You know what is really stupid, I missed The Best of Both Worlds since at the time my mother though I needed to attend Church. I've never seen it, yet it seems so good!

I was stationed in Korea when Best of Both Worlds first aired so I didn't see it until the reruns came out, and by then it was already common knowlege.

"Best of Both Worlds" was the best two parter of all time, but i liked "Unification" also.

Also, to keep the producers of Paramount and it's parent company Viacom happy, I suggest you should put quotation marks (") before and after the episode title. Thank you! :(

Hey there,

"Unification" was an interesting episode. It was one of those that made you think.

I remember when it came out, Star Trek VI hadn't yet been released. We watched it because Entertainment Tonight had let it slip Spock would give a hint at what the next movie would be about. Sure enough, he did.

After the movie came out, rewatching the episode...the hint made a lot more sense. But still, it was a very good episode. Leonard Nimoy was...as he's always been. Himself. :(

I agree. Spock is the eternal being and will be with us forever in the Star Trek universe.  :(

Well I liked All Good Things. A good ending to the best ST series.

And it made me cry at the end :-(

All good things was pa-the-tic when compared to say, The Best of Both Worlds.

Well, yeah, any two-parter would suck when compared with Best of Both Worlds, but as a series end goes All Good Things wasn't that bad.  It was certainly better than Endgame (which had all the plot devices of All Good Things just in a mixed-up order).  The series end for TOS was a non-event and I didn't even bother watching What You Leave Behind.
