Hey there,

Someone asked above, "I guess the question is, would anyone miss them if they were gone?". I disagree. It will take work to remove them and I have to ask, why bother? If the wheel ain't broke, don't fix it. :(

I'm inclined to agree.  I was only interested in everyone's opinion.  It's worth all the backbreaking work  ::D: if it's what our members really want.

That being said, however, we probably won't remove them unless there is an overwhelming majority who want it.

I say keep them, all the questions poped up after A9's ten thousand post topic (thanks a bunch)  Nobody really cared before then, so why make a fuss now?

P.S.  I've already made a scene with the post count topic, so I'll just back Nem up on this one.

I never have liked them, but that's just my opinion. I always thought of them as post meters... something people feel they have to have a lot of.

Many people don't look at them, and that's good. But for the people who do... well... I'd just rather see them gone.

Yes, there are a lot more important things.  I daresay there are even more important things than Star Trek ::gasp!::

I'm sorry Sovak but I just can't even imagine what such things could be. The poor boy has been riding around in that topless Jeep for too long...the sun is getting to him.

I personally don't really care.. it's just a number to me and I barely even notice it.

Pitch the post-counts, reduce padding.

In my opinion I'd rather see the post count depart and displayed on the profile section, I believe in quality over quantity. However, I am not a webmaster so I don't know how complicated this would be, and one has the option of always skipping over posts they know will not concern them.

Reading the remarks, I agree on the ideas and would be for it if the post numbers were put in the profiles.  I think by doing so, people who find post numbers important or are just curious to know can find them easily.

What I would like to see instead of post numbers would be rank, including cadet.  For specialty sims, you could have their rank, and then the (starfleet equivelent) in paranthesis so others would know what the rank was.

If your futher curious about my ideas on this, PM me :(

Sounds cool, but what if you are on one more than one ship (like myself)?  And you have different ranks on them? As for post counts, I don't really care about them.  Don't see what all the fuss is about though.  I'm a member of a bunch of message boards with post counts, and they don't seem to be a problem in any of them.  Whatever you do, is fine with me, but as Fred said, "if it ain't brole, don't fix it".  (or something like that).  Just my 2 cents Canadian.

For those who have one account for all their postings, it could look like this:

rank: Arcadia-ensign

rank: Arcadia-captain; Hood-Lt;etc-? ??

rank: Ship-klingon (rank)

...just my idea :(

Hey there,

Again, knowing the amount of material waiting to be updated on the site, I think people need to get their priorities in order. This is a real minor thing and, as I mentioned before, if it isn't broken...why are we trying to fix it?
