“Captain Dodge*, we've located the Galileo,” the Bozeman's science officer reported. “Its located on a small tropical island.”

 

“Let me see it Mr. Lovacelli,” said the owner of the “Welcome Aboard” tattoo. The mainscreen of the Miranda-class frigate shimmered, and showed the Galileo next to a cabin on a beach at local dawn. “Mr Stepanak, take a small Security detachment down and request Commander Wesley's presence aboard our humble starship. And if she asks, the orders come from the Admiral.”

 

“Aye aye, Captain.”

 

“And while you're at it Stepanak, bring back the Galileo.”

Audraya lay snuggled up to her lover, dozing as the dawn slowly broke, listening to the background sounds from the jungle and beach. The waves lapping against the shoreline, the sounds of native bugs and amphibians, the cry of a local bird, the chiming of a transporter. Wait, what? Transporter? With boots on the steps, Audraya slipped out of the bed, threw a silk robe on, and lightly walked out of the bedroom just in time to catch the knocking of fist on door.

 

“Yes,” she said, pausing by it.

 

“Ma'am, Lieutenant Stepanak, USS Bozeman. Captain Dodge is requesting your presence aboard.”

 

She opened the door. “Does he realize that Lt Kvar and I are on leave,” she questioned quietly. “And keep your voice down, the Lieutenant is trying to sleep.”

 

“Yes Ma'am, he does. New orders from Admiral Coyote, requesting you and the Lieutenant back on New Topeka.”

 

“Really? And the explanation, Mr. Stepanak?”

 

“Wasn't told, Ma'am. All I was told was to bring you up to the ship.”

 

“Then I refuse, Lieutenant. Good morning.” With that Audraya slammed the door in his face.

 

“Stepanak to Bozeman. Captain, she's refusing to go.”

 

“She does have a stubborn streak, from what I hear. Chief Howard is locking on to their coordinates

and will be beaming them up. Make sure you get the Galileo, Stepanak. Dodge out.” With a shimmering chime, coming from the cabin, Creek's XO and chief communications officer were beamed out.

 

Stepanak looked up and said to his team “Glad I'm not the one getting a piece of her mind right now.”
