The Dude and I have played with the idea of a U.S.S. Aeropa - Designed to be the perfect holodeck practice-ship: Made for cadets, made BY cadets, run by cadets! It will, besides, be an interesting way to train GM's... We are working on a HP, but it would be nice if we could have a /sub on stsf.net.   ::(:

If someone wants to create/run a sim in the startrek.com chat rooms when we don't have a scheduled sim, that is entirely up to them.  However, we would not promote or sponsor it, unless it was an official STSF sim.  That would mean that it is run by STSF GMs and is operating under the same rules and structures as all other sims in STSF.

Thanks.

Oh I think sims in other country time zones would be a fantastic addition to STSF, and I look forward to when we have grown to that point.  I do not think we'll have to wait til 2025 either.  :(

I also have no fear of losing our sense of community as we grow.  THE single most important thing I have learned from gaming online is that a good community rapport is as contageous as a negative one, and new people joining us will continue to "catch" those warm fuzzies and spread them to other new members as they come.  Size isn't as important.

I meant that the U.S.S. Aeropa possibly could be the beginning of STFS in Europe - but if a GM would please email me the information (rules and structures) and requirements for a STFS-sim we would be happy to fit it all into your standards.

Hey there,

In order to run a sim within STSF, you must have GMs running it. So, the logical step would be to see if you have folks meeting those requirements. :(

Information on that subject can be found in the "About Us" page at the bottom. You can also check directly by going to http://www.stsf.net/gm_app.php.

But giving a quick summary of the major requirements....

  • You have been aboard an STSF sim for at least one year, holding the rank of Lieutenant Commander for at least six months.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Have the ability to run at least one/two games per week.
