Hello everyone  :D .   It seem like a lot of ppl I have talked to are in school (whether it be HS or college it doesn't matter).  And then there are the handful of wiser than I  ppl who are no longer in school and most likely have a career of some sort or another...

...So, the purpose of this poll is to see what type of careers members have (past), studying for (present), or dreaming of (future).

If your feeling brave :) give details since I tried to get general areas up (ex-medical-->dr).  For students what schooling level (ex-High School (HS), College, etc) and what you would like do when you are all done with school.

Well, lets see what we got

ps...Sorry I never thought of list business (which is a popular one)

I majored in economics with a business finance minor, graduated in 99.  I am currently the accountant / buyer for the North American research and development division of Bosch, a multinational auto parts and consumer goods manufacturer with 226,000 employees in 31 countries (headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany).  I live in Silicon Valley, am active in the local chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants, and am studying for the Certified Management Accountant credential.  I may also soon be a trustee for the Phi Chi Theta Educational Foundation (a 501©(3) corporation) and treasurer of a statewide not-for-profit.

I picked "other".

At the moment I'm acting as a teacher of technology and technology coordinator for a district in my company. Slowly but surely completing the degrees to get a full MIS. :)

Hmmm...

Started in college as a Biology major and got weeded right out of that by all the cut-throat Pre-Med students (at least they were at my school).  I ended up with a Radio & TV major with a special focus on Film.  I made my own films for awhile (nothing fancy - Sound Super-8 and then Video), then was a Party DJ, and a TV cameraman for a Public TV station.  So, from there it was, of course, a logical step to become a Paralegal and then an I.S. Manager (say What!?)  I am currently the Technology Services Manager for a large lawfirm - freaky, huh?

Me...um...a about a few weeks I'm starting my second year in college. Cal Poly rocks! lol I'm a Physics major, and yes, there aren't many. The entire department consists of roughly 500 students (that's not alot when you consider the toal enrolled students is about 19 thousands). Anyway, I'm not sure where I want to head into in the future. I know that it's either research/production/design or teaching. Who knows...may be I'l be a part of Boeing.   :)

I'm a software support technician for a proprietary company that create's software for County and City Government.  In short, I teach the people how to use the programs that calculate your property taxes.

Fascinating, huh?

I just entered my second year of undergraduate studies majoring in Government with aspirations of eventually heading to seminary and receiving an MDiv or an MA in Theology.  After that...well...we'll just have to wait and see won't we?   :)

Hm...well, I checked "other" because, like A9, I've had varied professions in my lifetime.  I have a degree in English Literature and am certified to teach elementary gifted and at risk students.  I am also an accomplished lyric soprano and occasionally sing with the local symphony chorus or in small chamber ensembles.  I have taught technology education to teachers, designed the technology hardware and software for a school, participated in grant-writing (to fund all that technology they wanted!), and worked for several years with a group of teachers on a national space science initiative.  At the moment I work from our home as a freelance writer - nonfiction, biography, science fiction, and oral history.  Other than that I'm just your ordinary, average, Trek-type person.

Next....  :)

Me...um...a about a few weeks I'm starting my second year in college. Cal Poly rocks!

The Cal Poly Fight Song (as best as I can remember it)

Ride High You Mustangs,

Kick the frost out, burn the breese,

Ride High You Mustangs,

The bow wows we'll knock to their knees

Hi Ki Yi

Ride High You Mustangs

Chin the moon and do it right

Ride High and cut a rusty

Fight! Fight! Fight!
