Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis | 22 February 2013

(15 June 2387 | Stardate 2387.167)

We believe the renegades who seized control of Aegis are using an abandoned Rihan Mist Station buried in an asteroid deep within an asteroid belt just outside Aegis space. Captain Chirakis is seriously considering a reconnaissance mission.

At sim begin, the crew will assemble in the CT conference room for discussion of the mission, its dangers, and the possibility of allied repercussion should their clandestine mission be discovered.

Refurbishing of an area within the former diplomatic area of Pylon B has begun, to be used as an orphanage for Rihan children on the station.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis | 1 March 2013

(17 June 2387 | Stardate 2387.169)

Captain Chirakis informed the crew of their covert mission to asteroid M-2 in the Garand asteroid belt. All were given the choice to stay or go. Those going are sworn to secrecy.

The mission will recon asteroid M-2 for the presence of occupants in a Mist Station that was abandoned by the RSE a century ago. If occupants are found, assessment as to hostility will be made.

The crew is absorbed in planning and making preparations for the mission.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis | 15 March 2013

(21 June 2387 | Stardate 2387.173)

The Narada is in orbit of Sky Harbor Aegis. Captain Nero has requested assistance in exploring other asteroid belts as a means of expanding his mining operations and bolstering his economic woes since the devastation of ch'Rihan.

To guard against recent pirate attacks, his ship will move under escort of Aegean. He has also requested science and engineering personnel to facilitate the exploration, looking for high-grade ore and assessing the structural integrity of asteroids they plan to mine. Revenge will accompany the expedition under cover.

Their first asteroid field will be the Garand asteroid field, not far from Aegis space.

TBS was 2 days, during which time the crew will make plans to move aboard the Narada and the Aegean.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis | 22 March 2013

(23 June 2387 | Stardate 2387.175)

Narada, Aegean, and Revenge prepare to depart Aegis en route to the Garand asteroid belt. Narada and Aegean will depart first, with Revenge to follow.

Mr. Roberts and SubCommander Jorahl are in command of a covert mission, ostensibly to assist the miner, Nero, by scanning the Garand asteroid belt for mineral deposits. The asteroid M-2 is, of course, our target. Whether we find the long-abandoned Romulan Mist Station 3 inhabited by renegades remains to be seen.

Aboard Narada: Nero, Ayel, and crew.

Aboard Aegean: Aegis crew and LtCdr Ramson.

Aboard Revenge: Mr. Roberts and crew.

Staying on Aegis: Captain Chirakis and SubCommander tr’Jeth Dabi.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis | 5 April 2013

(25 June 2387 | Stardate 2387.177)

Narada, Aegean, and Revenge have entered the Garand System and are closing on its asteroid belt. As per Narada’s proposed route of “exploration” they will visit several asteroids, legitimately examine them for possible mining, and eventually reach asteroid M-2, the home of the abandoned Romulan Mist Station 3.

Space is at a premium on Aegean. Crew has had to share billeting - some successfully, some not so successfully. Along with Aegis crew the medical department has stockpiled supplies in anticipation of casualties. Part of the cargo bay has been set up for triage and non-critical treatment.

Aboard the Revenge: Mr. Roberts & Co.

Aboard Aegean: Aegis crew and LtCdr Ramson

Aboard Narada: Nero, Ayel, & Co.

Remaining on Aegis: Captain Chirakis and SubCommander tr’Jeth Dabi

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis | 5 April 2013

(27 June 2387 | Stardate 2387.179)

Narada, Aegean, and Revenge are entering the Garand system, on approach to the Garand asteroid belt where they will begin scouting for asteroids viable for mining operations. While scanning for asteroids they will also be looking extensively at the abandoned Romulan Mist Station that may be occupied by the same band of Romulan renegades that took over Aegis.

Captain Chirakis and SubCommander tr’Jeth Dabi have remained on the station, leaving the mission in the capable hands of Mr. Roberts and SubCommander Jorahl.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis | 12 April 2013

(27 June 2387 | Stardate 2387.179)

Narada, Aegean, and Revenge are in the Garand System, scouting areas for mining operations and looking for signs of occupation of a Mist Station on the asteroid M-2.

Aegean launched a diversionary mining probe near asteroid M-2 just before the Romulan shuttle, Nei’rrh, launched. Narada and Aegean have departed, leaving Nei’rrh to scout the area.

After examining the scans forwarded by Narada, Cdr Feretti and Ltjg Lawliet find significant sensor errors on the long-range scans; there may be more going on below asteroid M-2 than previously thought.

Aboard the Nei’rrh are:

  • SubCenturion tr’Korjata, pilot
  • Dr. Schawnsee, medical
  • Lieutenant Harada, CAG and assault teams leader
  • Alpha Squad - 2 fire teams, 3 soldiers each
  • Beta squad - 2 fire teams, 3 soldiers each

Aboard the station, Annisha gets a trip to the control tower with Captain Chirakis while Counselor Davis stands in awe.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis | 26 April 2013

(27 June 2387 | Stardate 2387.179)

TBS was 1 hour

Having received confirmation that the Mist Station on asteroid M-2 is inhabited, Nei’rrh took a low by-pass for a more comprehensive passive scan. After some discussion, it is determined that more comprehensive data on the station is needed before infiltration.

Nei’rrh prepares to return to Aegean to make use of their active scans.

Revenge flies casual as a merchant vessel while they shadow Nei’rrh, Mission Commander Roberts & Co keeping a close watch.

Aegean has changed its course to explore closer to M-2 while Narada continued its systematic exploration for asteroids suitable for mining.

Aboard the Nei’rrh are:

  • SubCenturion tr’Korjata, pilot

  • Dr. Schawnsee, medical

  • Lieutenant Harada, CAG and infiltration CO

  • Alpha Team - Team Leader Raven Benjamin (Chirakis), NPCs Miles & Alexander

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis | 3 May 2013

(28 June 2387 | Stardate 2387.180)

TBS was 12 hours.

Nei’rrh returned to Aegean to make use of their active scans with the hope of getting more detailed readings on the internal schematics of the Mist Station.

At sim begin, most of Aegean’s crew will be in the astrometrics lab to review data and plan their strategy for infiltration. Mr. Roberts will patch into the review by piggybacking on the communications between Narada and Aegean.

On Aegis, Captain Chirakis was surprised by the presence of Captain Solok, Vulcan commanding officer of the Starfleet starship T’Kumbra. Because of his strange behavior, she and SubCommander tr’Jeth Dabi have him on constant surveillance.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis | 10 May 2013

(29 June 2387 | Stardate 2387.181)

TBS was 24 hours.

On Mist Station 3, hidden well within Asteroid M-2 of the Garand System, SI-5 operative t’Pak is in deep cover with the Romulan renegade cell that wreaked havoc on Aegis three months ago. Her alliance with one of the leaders’ lieutenants has put her in good stead to roam the station and sit in on strategic meetings, if only from the sidelines. She has etched signs and marked drop-niches throughout the station. Whether she is communicating with someone else within the cell or intends them for infiltration teams is unknown.

Narada has positioned itself on the opposite side of Asteroid M-2 from Aegean.

Aboard Aegean, Nei’rrh is ready to depart, cloaked, bound for a strategic spot on the asteroid near the Mist Station.

Aboard the Nei’rrh and prepared for infiltration and assault are:

  • SubCenturion tr’Korjata, deflector control

  • Lieutenant, j.g. Jylliene, pilot

  • SrLieutenant Harada, CAG and infiltration CO

  • Alpha Team - Team Leader Raven Benjamin (Chirakis), NPCs Miles & Alexander

  • Beta Team - Team Leader Maximilian Ryder (Dabi), NPCs Davis & Bei

Narada and Aegean will use their communications signals to blind and possibly disable the Mist Station’s systems. Nei’rrh will decloak and activate the deflector to nullify the sensor dampening material and clear it for active scans. Scans will be transmitted to Nei’rrh, Aegean and the teams. The teams will infiltrate the station and continue their mission as planned:

  • locate the main database and gather intelligence on the renegade cell

  • identify and capture renegade cell leaders for interrogation

  • eliminate the rest of the cell and completely destroy the station

On Aegis, Starfleet Captain Solok seems to be making preparations to depart, to where or for what purpose remains to be seen.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis | 17 May 2013

(29 June 2387 | Stardate 2387.181)

TBS was 5 minutes.

With Narada positioned on the opposite side of Asteroid M-2 from Aegean, their communications link engaged at full force in an attempt to either disrupt or disable systems on Mist Station 3. Nei’rrh then used its deflector dish to punch a hole in the Mist Station’s dampening field.

Inside Mist Station 3, systems blink on and off and some fail altogether. SI-5 operative t’Pak was pressed into service to assist in correcting the problem while most of the others blamed the failures on over-enthusiastic miners.

Now in possession of accurate scans, Nei’rrh’s teams are prepared to infiltrate the station. Soon after their departure teams will beam in from Aegean and Revenge.

Their mission objectives are:

  • locate the main database and gather intelligence on the renegade cell

  • identify and capture renegade cell leaders for interrogation

  • eliminate the rest of the cell and completely destroy the station

On Aegis, the Starfleet starship T’Kumbra has departed Aegis for parts unknown, Captain Solok in command of his loyal Vulcan crew. Just after departure his Starfleet transponder was silenced.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis | 24 May 2013

(29 June 2387 | Stardate 2387.181)

Teams from Aegean, and Revenge and the shuttle, Nei’rrh, have infiltrated Mist Station 3 and are on the way to gathering data and locating renegade leaders for capture and interrogation.

As expected, Aegean and Narada’s communications overload threw the station into chaos, causing their systems to blink in and out and forcing a delicate dance with Aegean’s transporters. Nero’s impromptu mining operation close to the station’s power supply took everyone by surprise and caused the asteroid to quake violently. Some areas of the aging station sustained considerable damage; others, not so much.

SI-5 operative t’Pak, in deep cover within the cell, has entered command codes into the station’s systems, to what end is unknown.

Dampening fields are down, shield generators are in the process of bombardment, and the Starfleet ship, T’Kumbra, Vulcan Captain Solok, has entered the fight on the side of the renegade Romulans.

TBS was negligible: a few seconds to a minute or two.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis | 31 May 2013

(29 June 2387 | Stardate 2387.181)

Teams from Aegean, Revenge, and Nei’rrh have infiltrated the Romulan renegade stronghold on asteroid M-2 in the Garand system. SubCommander Jorahl has successfully accessed and copied the station’s databases.

SI-5 operative t’Pak, in deep cover within the renegade cell, surreptitiously assisted the teams’ efforts. She was captured with the cell’s leaders when their escape vehicle was taken by Revenge.

While waiting for the team’s return, Nei’rrh’s temporary pilot, Jylliene, fought off several attacking renegades.

After being totally disabled by Aegean’s disruptors and Revenge’s torpedoes, Captain Solok engages the self-destruct on T’Kumbra.

On the far side of the asteroid, several small craft attempting to leave were intercepted by Revenge’s Wraith fighters. The escape trajectory pointed Aegean to a hidden cave that was being used for auxiliary craft. Aegean is presently nestled within that cave.

At game end, two Romulan warbirds decloaked close to M-2, weapons hot.

TBS was “flexy.”

~Awards and Promotions Night~

Mist Station 3 has not been completely destroyed, but its personnel are either dead or in custody - as far as we know. Aegean is still on the asteroid investigating some uncharted areas.

Revenge and Nei’rrh were confronted by a warbird sporting a Death Star type weapon. They were saved by a ship of the Sindarin Alliance, the Athicus, commanded by Captain Judan d’Rin.

Injured from the battle are being treated.

Leaders of the renegade Romulan cell are prisoners on Revenge; t’Pak is with them.

On Aegis, Captain Chirakis has received a detailed account from Captain d’Ka of USS Missouri. [see: The Things We Carry]

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis | 14 June 2013

29 June 2387 - Stardate 2387.181

TBS was 2 hours.

Mist Station 3 has been effectively disabled, though some of the expansive station remains. Most of its personnel are either dead or in custody. One of the renegade leaders, tr’Gruff, and his cohort, t’Pak, as well as one unnamed person who seems to be the ringleader, are aboard Revenge, in the custody of Captain Roberts & Co.

Most of Aegis crew is aboard Aegean. Nei’rrh suffered considerable damage, especially to its navigational deflector, and has returned to Aegean. The injured are being treated; the others are resting or reviewing the data gathered from the station and planning their next move.

On Aegis, Counselor Davis is about to approach Captain Chirakis about Annisha’s adoptive parents.

3 July 2387 - Stardate 2387.185

TBS was 3 Days

Revenge and Aegean are approaching Aegis after a covert operation to Mist Station 3 in the Garand System.

Mr. Roberts has the leaders of the rebel cell board Revenge. Among them is the Romulan renegade criminal warlord Ka’aroth, the Federation’s Most Wanted criminal and possibly the most ruthless in the known galaxy.

The crew of Aegean is dealing with an unknown pathogen that has come aboard via a piece of ceiling that was embedded in Lt Raven Benjamin’s shoulder when the ceiling collapsed during the infiltration of the Mist Station. Science and medical are working around the clock to find the true nature of the pathogen.

Data gathered at the Mist Station and a status report have been transmitted to Aegis via secure channel. Whether the ships will be able to dock remains in question.

At the request of SubCommander Jorahl, Narada has picked up an Information Storage Device and is bringing it to Aegis to be used as an educational restoration project.

On Aegis, Captain Chirakis is investigating the possibility that less than reputable Romulans are “adopting” the orphans.

3 July 2387 - Stardate 2387.185

TBS was one hour.

Aegean and Revenge are docked at Aegis and their crews are in the process of debarkation and winding down from their ordeal. Lt Raven Benjamin is resting comfortably in sick bay, tended by Dr. Schawnsee.

Ka’aroth and tr’Gruff are no more, their atoms scattered after an unfortunate transporter malfunction. For security reasons, interrogation tapes taken when they were aboard Revenge have been transferred to Captain Chirakis’ secure terminal where she, Mr. Roberts, and SubCommander Dabi will have access.

T’Pak is in solitary confinement, her true identity still unknown to the crew. The survivors from Captain Solok’s ship, T’Kumbra, are also in custody, though what their disposition will be remains to be determined.

In another part of the sector, events concerning the orphans have taken a questionable turn. The adopted child, Annisha, has received a physical and emotional shock. Because of her personal interest in the exceptional development of the child as a possible future SI-5 operative, Captain Chirakis connected her to her own subcutaneous emergency implant and is now aware that something is amiss.

5 July 2387 - Stardate 2387.187

TBS was 48 hours.

At sim begin Alpha shift has begun and the crew is coming back on duty.

Captain Chirakis and Mr. Roberts will be in private discussion on several points concerning the mission.

Though the analysis of data retrieved from Mist Station 3 is in its final stages, there are many questions to answer, several of which may impact the Federation and the Allied Powers.

SubCommander tr’Jeth Dabi will be dealing with t’Pak and some of the Vulcan survivors of Captain Solok’s Starfleet vessel, T’Kumbra. As Second Officer and most familiar with Mist Station 3, SubCommander Jorahl will be interrogating a select few.

Engineers will be tending to ordinary business. Nei’rrh, Revenge, and Aegean are in need of repair and the vintage Romulan shuttle has been delivered by Nero as promised.

All of medical and science will be collaborating to deal with the virus.

Research into the virus is inconclusive, though it does seem to point to a manufactured virus. Science is still working on the source and the possible implications.

Lt Cdr Ramson has chosen a few Vulcan survivors of the T’Kumbra and is interrogating them in the shipyard.

Engineering is working on repairs to the ships; Centurion tr’Korjata is working on the Nei’rrh; Nero has delivered the Romulan shuttle that SubCommander Jorahl picked up on Mist Station 3.

T’Pak is still in solitary confinement in the security complex.

Captain Chirakis and Mr. Roberts are in the process of changing the “Orphanage” to a “Children’s Home” and a Director will soon be tapped for that promotion.

7 July 2387 - Stardate 2387.190

TBS was 2 days.

Research into the virus is inconclusive, though science is still investigating.

Lt Cdr Ramson has finished interrogating a select few Vulcan survivors of the T’Kumbra. She and SubCommander Jorahl have returned them to Aegis.

Dr. Pavilion has been promoted to Orrha ch’Veothdigaer, or Director of the Children’s Home on Aegis. She will start immediately. SubCommander tr’Jeth Dabi has been directed to enhance security for the children in the wake of information regarding child trafficking of orphaned Rihan children.

Construction of the Children’s Home in the former Ambassadorial Suites is nearly complete, courtesy of Mr. Roberts, who has the survivors of the T’Kumbra working under the supervision of his “buccaneers.”

Centurion tr’Korjata is hard at work on the Nei’rrh and is ready to take it on its shakedown “cruise.” Next to Nei’rrh, in the shuttle bay, sits a vintage Romulan ship that SubCommander Jorahl salvaged from Mist Station 3.

Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis | 2 August 2013

7 July 2387 - Stardate 2387.190

TBS was 2 hours.

The shuttle carrying Annisha and her adoptive parents has not arrived at A’Tari. The trail of the shuttle’s transponder points to somewhere in cartel space.

While Mr. Roberts and crew monitor the Vulcan T’Kumbra “conscripts” who are working on the Children’s Home, Dr. Pavilion is overseeing its construction in the Ambassadorial wing that formerly occupied the first three decks of Pylon 2.

Elsewhere, with their hands free from that mundane construction task, engineers are settling into maintenance as usual as they launch back into station upgrades and repairs, and contemplate the restoration of an antique Romulan craft their chief brought from Mist Station 3. In addition to that, the refurbished Romulan shuttle, Nei’rrh, is ready for a two-week shakedown cruise that will double as a training cruise for Lt Kital and a visit to her home planet, Trill.

After interrogations, LtCdr Ramson reports that, though the crew of T’Kumbra was in agreement with the Romulan renegades’ reforms, some were not aware that they were attacking Federation vessels until they were captured. She asks for mercy for those involved.

Science is using an enhanced spectral/medical sensor hybrid to further investigate the renegade virus that has been identified as the mumps virus, supposedly eradicated a century ago. More questions remain than have been answered. Is it an engineered form of the virus? If so, are there markers that could lead to the manufacturer? If it is not engineered, how did it get to the Romulan Mist Station 3?

8 July 2387 - Stardate 2387.191

TBS was 2 hours.

As Season 18 comes to a close the crew settles in to a more normal routine.

Midshipman Taylor Kiran arrived to begin his Starfleet medical internship under Dr. Pavilion.

Construction of the Children's Home was left in the hands of Seamus O’Donnell, Revenge’s Chief Engineer, freeing up the rest of Aegis’ engineers to tend to routine repair and maintenance.

Speaking of which, the mission to Mist Station 3 created an engineering backlog. Suggestions for bolstering engineering’s ranks include forming an auxiliary corps of engineers and/or conscripting Romulan Uhlans (Midshipmen) to work on non-essential systems.

Science continued working on a sample of the mumps virus, gathering data from the modified scanner and streaming it to sick bay in collaboration with the medical department.

Jylliene and Nijil shared their concerns about Annisha and plan Nei’rrh’s shakedown cruise as Lt Kital “slips into something more comfortable” in the latest episode of As Aegis Turns.

~Season 18 Finale~

TBS is 2 days.

Mr. Roberts has taken Revenge to parts unknown.

Nei’rrh has left the station en route to Trill for its shakedown cruise.

The mumps virus from Mist Station 3 is definitely an artificial creation that affects only humans. However, it was found to be weak, the reason for Lt Benjamin’s swift recovery.

Captain Chirakis and SubCommander Jorahl had a private discussion about the station, which is in need of serious upgrades. Apparently the higher powers are finally “concerned about our area of space.”

And the answer to the eternal question:

“How many engineers does it take to change a lightbulb?”

A: None, because according to the calculations the problem does not exist.

Scott Coleridge -> ::breathes a sigh of relief as the alarms stop::

Chirakis -> +COM+ Stand down general quarters.

Scott Coleridge -> +Jorahl+ Uh... Coleridge to Jorahl. Looks like we have a case of severely crossed wires here, if you get my drift. I’m going to have to take apart everything down here.

Jorahl -> +Scott+ Understood. Proceed with caution. Did you find what that error code was, by the way?

Scott Coleridge -> +Jorahl+ Yes. Linear electron flow fault. I thought it would be a simple patch and replace. Apparently the computer systems have a different idea.

Jorahl -> ::ponders:: +Scott+ Was the access panel dark?

Scott Coleridge -> +Jorahl+ Yes...

Jorahl -> +Scott+ Change the light bulb. ::facepalm::
