Crash Calestorm

Captains POV
Hi Guys!

The following log takes place immediately after the events in the log "This is Nuts" & right before the 08.20.12 Sim. It is told from Calestorm’s POV...

Starfleet is not a democracy. At our core values, we're a peacekeeping and exploratory organization. The military factor is a no brainer; there's no way we'd be able to run our day to day operations without the CoC, peacekeeping aside.

One thing that's an absolute? You let your people do their jobs. In order to accomplish that, ya gotta inform 'em and that means it's briefing time.

Now, you have to understand something here: I'm not exactly Ms. Diplomacy. Yeah yeah, go ahead and snicker 'cause you're allowed to. Not exactly a news flash, huh? I'm used to briefings given on a flight deck or the pilots Ready Room. I was a pilot & then a flight instructor for longer than I've been in the command track.

Do I dislike these meetings? Not really, no. I hear tell some CO's thrive on it. Love getting' the Dept Heads together to brainstorm on whatever new assignment or mission. It's part of our job as commanding officer. It's a wonder this type of command crew gets anything done what with all the meetings and such, but I'm gettin' off topic.

I gotta remember to deploy the diplomacy. It's a briefing. People are gonna ask questions. There's gonna be disagreement. Gonna be reservations. My crew is downright frisky. Another Sherlock moment. Thank you, Captain Obvious.

Some of 'em more than others, but the combined lot is enough to keep me hopping. I keep them hopping with what Coyote refers to as my so called "swashbuckling" - and yanno, Shauna has had her moments over the years but that’s a topic best left to good friends and a round of drinks - so I'm sure we all even ourselves out somewhere.

The Grayson Guard who accompanied me and my ‘Creek Security escort pauses to open a carved wooden door that leads to the common area where my people are waiting. I nod my thanks and we continue onward into the room area.

Still, this meeting should be very interesting. I’m half tempted to just haul off and say, "Hi Guys. Guess what? I just volunteered us to help Grayson against an Evil Count. Ain't that great!?"

Yep. Interesting.

(TBC in Sim...)
