Star Trek Voyager - The Movie ?

57 posts in this topic

I'm just suprised that they wont make another part to DS9 where thyey find Sisko on some planet. That would probaly be the movie that they would make for DS9. But that would be a little like the Search for Spock. But hey what ever works in the movie buisness works. Its like The Lost World where they brough the rex to the mainland which added a little godzilla mix into it.

Well I think you people get the point of where I'm gettin at.

Hey there,

Given the entire attempt to turn Sisko into some type of god was a bit much for me. I think they just need to let it lay.

I agree with you Fred for I loved DS9 but hated Sisko because of that for in the beginning they intigrated religion in so well it didn't step on anybody's toes but as soon as it made Sisko into the emisisary(excuse my spelling) I think it trampled on everyone's toes religious or other wise for I think star trek was always an excepting show and allowed room for everyones believes but then it moved into a highly specialized region and left out most belief which I didn't quite like but thankfully the thing that saved DS9 for me were the other character developments such as Dax and Worf's relationship and my favorite DS9 character Quark's with Rom and Nog and so on. If they do make a DS9 movie keep Sisko out of it or he comes back and finds out the spices he had been cooking with messed up his mind or something for Star trek needs to be open to all ideas of religion not just that certain type. ;)

I'd almost like to see what would happen if Sisko showed up dead on some planet.

Think about it.  The Profits, like all gods, are immprtal.  Sisko became one with the Profits.  Therefore Sisko should be immortal as well.  But if his rotted corpse shows up dead somewhere it must mean the Profits are mortal, thus they can't be gods.

What would happen if the Bajoran religion (or any religion) were conclusively proven to be false?

Not all gods are considered immortal think about the Klingon gods. Another point I need to make is that the profits exist in non-linear time so it is most unlikely to see them rotting on a planet and did Sisko ever become a prophet to begin with I'm not sure I just thought he went out on a mission but I think I might've missed the last few episodes of DS9 ;)

i think that basically happened in the tng episode devil's deal where a civilization believed that the entire basis of their societies advance had been because of making a deal with the equivalant of satan. Picard proves she's lying and that the society built itself.

Well all I know is that they shouldnt make a Voyager movie about the borg cause that would just be stupid since they've dealt with the borg so much and killed the queen off each time.

I still think they should continue with TNG just using the Enterprise-E.
