GromVik's Logs: "Fishing with Pandora"

GromVik’s Logs (Log 55)

Lieutenant Commander GromVik

USS Pandora’s Box

"Fishing with Pandora"

Computer, open duty log and begin recording…

I arrived back on the Aegis shortly after 2200 hours fully expecting to resume my duties as Chief Engineer.  Much to my surprise, Captain Meve had different plans.  Currently I am at a loss has gone on during my absence, but I do know the task I have before me.   Before the opening of Sky Harbor Aegis almost two years ago, my former Chief, Lieutenant Commander Hartle, was assigned to install system monitors.  These monitors held the purpose of keeping watch over the system.  Many of the locations of these monitors are classified, and few have been discovered, except for the accidental freighter that has drifted off course.

Unfortunately, my assignment is to find all of the monitors and redirect their focus on Cardassia itself.  I have before me the official documentation of the placement of these monitors, however, many of the documents are confusing, and some have been modified over the last couple of years.   The first couple of monitors nearest to Aegis were the easiest to find, but the easiness stopped there.  We are having troubling locating the fifth monitoring unit.  If it were not for Pandora’s Box, we’d be making no headway in the search for number five.

Lieutenant Ralliford has been an extreme asset on this mission.  His keen eyes were able to locate monitor number four during his command of the night shift.  I suppose we have bigger problems to worry about.  The last couple of days we have picked up more than twenty stragglers from Cardassia.   I have locked down all of the ship’s sensitive systems and have confined our “guests” to deck 6.  Among the stragglers is Gul Rophar, a Cardassian war veteran.  I have dispatched an extra security detail to keep an eye on him.  I did fail to mention that we are operating on a skeleton crew, and rotating twelve hour shifts.   Progress is slow, and the orders could take weeks to carry out.  I have heard nothing from Captain Meve as far as a rendezvous position, but then again, he didn’t even know where they were going.  GromVik out.

Computer, close duty log…
