We have completed our recuperation at Starfleet Medical in

San Francisco and are ready to leave Earth orbit. We have left

our troubled "mission" to save a destroyed homeworld behind us,

but we have also left valued crew members and friends. Mitar

Precip has left the Manticore crew as has Jami Farrington. Many

on the crew are swinging between the excitement of returning to

deep space and the depression of leaving loved ones behind.

For myself, it revives memories of how Starfleet led to the end

of my first marriage and makes me wonder if I can only truly

be wed to one great lady, the Manticore.
