Message Delivered.......Loud and Clear

Early morning, at the residence of the Fvillah.....

Fvillah Tricus Serillius tr’Salis had found it nearly impossible to find rest the previous night, having finally fallen asleep in the small hours of the morning. That rest was cut short though by the chime of one of his advisors coming to meet him for an early morning working breakfast. One of the last people he wanted to see at the moment was tr’Merk. However it had to be done, as the wheels had already been set into motion the night before, and now they had to wait and watch to see that they had sown.

He found na pleasure however when he sat upright, the tightness hrrau his temples from the brandy he had been downing most of the night having caught up to him finally. The sound of his beating heart could be heard in his head and really just wanted to send a message for the Proconsul to meet with him later, but knew this morning was far too important as a major power shift was about to potentially occur.

tr’Salis forced himself to stand and cross the room to where his outfit had already been set out by his house servants. Grumbling about the choice and having to fumble with so many buttons and adornments. he made a note to reprimand the servant to na leave such complicated garb at times when he may be in a hurry to dress. After exiting his bedchambers finally, he made his way towards the stairway that led down to the small veranda where he preferred to take his morning meal.

The view of the city from this vantage was unmatched as it was set high above anything that could possibly obscure the view. The Fvillah raised a hand to his eyes and rubbed the sleep from them while he decided where to meet with tr’Merk. They could meet hrrau the garden and partake of their meal by the reflecting pool; or stay up here. While he preferred the veranda himself, it was also his preferred private retreat and was loathe to share it with any of the others, as he quickly decided upon the garden. He turned from the view overlooking the city, as he made his way down the next flight of stairs and exited the manor into the garden proper and nearly changed his mind upon hearing the splashing of the garden fountain that stood but a short distance from where the meal was quickly being set out. Even the gentle splash of the water hurt his head this morning. The servants were quickly relocating everything from the veranda down to the Fvillah’s current location, and even their presence was an annoyance..

The garden did at least have its advantages, as one could walk away from the manor and the household staff; essential to avoid unwanted ears and sensors from listening. The walk would probably be for the best anyway, as he found he had a rather sour stomach from his choice and amount of beverage the previous evening, and really did na wish to be too near most of the food that was being piled onto the table for he and his guest. He had already given orders that his guest was to be seen to him when he arrived, and noted movement by the main gate of the gardens.

He looked up and saw Proconsul tr’Merk being led towards him so tried to put on a half smile; as there as na sense in letting the man think that he also harbored doubts of his trustworthiness to the Fvillah.

“My Fvillah, I trust that au are menkha this fine morning?” tr’Merk greeted him as he arrived, holding a pair of ISD’s hrrau his hand.

“I am awake, but find I’m barely even that this morning,” Tricus replied wearily.

“Something worries au my Fvillah? I assume that au issued au orders to the Daise’Khre’Riov last evening? Did it na go menkha?” tr’Merk dug for information, as his sources that morning had so far reported nothing out of the ordinary.

“I took care of the matter, late last evening, and have already ordered my Praetorian Fleet to be prepared to have the man arrested should he na follow through with my orders,” tr’Salis replied.

“So he refused then?” tr’Merk’s interest was piqued.

“At first, he argued against it, and to a point, I can understand his arguments. It is his bondmate after all and they did just have a child,” the Fvillah replied.

“That he argued at all, au should have had him clasped hrrau irons,” the Proconsul interjected.

“Would that I do that to au as well, each time we had a disagreement on policy Dicius?” Tricus tr’Salis challenged the man before him.

tr’Merk paled a siuren, “Na my Fvillah, but this he knew to be an order, should he now disobey, au would be hrrau au right to have him arrested and stripped of rank and command.”

“Well, by the time he left, he had agreed to assign her to the ship,” the Fvillah picked up a piece of fruit and decided to walk a bit while he tried to eat it, wanting to be away from the steaming plate of sweet meats and eggs that had just been placed upon the table. “Walk with me, we will continue as we view the gardens.” He led the way from the table down towards the rows of flowers and stone bordering the reflecting pool. “I have given him until this morning to get her back on the Talon and she is to leave orbit,” he paused and checked his wrist chrono, “In the next few siuren.”

“And if they do na have her aboard,” tr’Merk asked?

“As I already said, I’ve already deployed my personal dheno to take the matter into hand should it na occur. I should be receiving word momentarily from our orbital station, if she takes over command and requests departure approval. I have been assured, that there is someone still aboard her ship as well, to help keep tabs upon her should she actually report.”

“Oh, now that is interesting as well,” tr’Merk grinned.

“It is difficult to hide someone amongst a loyal crew, but again, we ‘are’ talking about the Talon. How many times have her own crew tried to kill her themselves?” tr’Salis grinned. “She is na favored by many, other than her bondmate I think. I am sure it will only be a matter of time before someone makes the attempt again.”

tr’Merk laughed lightly at this, then looked up over the Fvillah’s shoulder at something hrrau the sky. “Hmmm, what is that h’nah? Almost as if a fire hrrau the sky. I do hope that there has na been an accident aboard the one of the orbital platforms again?”

Tricus turned to see what tr’Merk was looking at and saw the glowing, fiery object in the sky growing larger as they watched it. “Ie, what IS that?”

tr’Merk finally realized that it was a ship, a rather large ship quickly looming down on their position. “My Fvillah!! It’s a ship, someone dares attack the city!! We must run for cover,” tr’Merk grabbed the Fvillah by the sleeve and started to pull him along with him, but when tr’Salis just stood there, Dicius decided that he was na going to burn for the man, as he let go of the Fvillah's sleeve and ran for cover himself.

The Fvillah, turned and was dumbfounded to see a D’deridex class ship rapidly dropping upon his location, appearing ready to slam beak first into the residence itself, and destroy it. Tricus tried to run, but stumbled, falling to his hands and knees, the sharp gravel of the walkway digging into the palms of his hands as the ship suddenly swung upwards, and went to warp within the atmosphere, creating an immense sonic boom that shook the city to its core. He could hear panes of glass shattering all over the compound as he looked up seeing the deadly sight swiftly pulling out of view, as he shielded his head with his bloodied hands, then hunched over on his knees and proceeded to vomit all over the ground and himself.

Moments later, his household dheno had taken him inside to be cleaned up and sent for the medic, realizing the fright the man had had, yet noting to themselves how he had cowered and puked in fear. tr’Merk said nothing, and thought it best to remain silent for the siuren until the Fvillah composed himself.

Fvillah Tricus tr’Salis was livid. Absolutely livid!! That someone could get this close to him was totally unacceptable! He wanted someone’s head for this. He surveyed the room around him as servants were cleaning up glass, porcelain and various other items which had been shattered when the ship went to warp just short of his very roof. For that matter, he had best have the roof checked for structural integrity. He had thought his head had hurt earlier, but the proximity at which the ship went to warp caused his ears to ring and threw off his equilibrium. He wanted to pace hrrau his anger, but found that he was forced to sit, for fear of stumbling and falling in front of all these veruuls watching over him.

That ship! He knew that fvadting ship! It was the Talon! It was that damnable woman giving ultimate insult to his position for all to see. It wasn’t the first time that ship had given him insult. He had dealt with them before when he had once been abducted, and ended up being assaulted by their medical officer. The same io in fact, that was was missing and the focus of this new mission. He felt somewhat vindicated now in only sending one ship to look for her, rather than a fleet. As for the Talon, tr’Vatrix had most likely sanctioned the actions of his bondmate to make this attack upon him; that or it had been his idea all along. Only he could be so bold to make a move like this! Perhaps that was why he had been so calm when he left the night before.

He had to do something to make her pay for this affront! It gave him the appearance of weakness, to everyone! He would see the woman in irons, stripped of rank and thrown out of Galae in disgrace if he had his way!! How dare she initiate an attack upon the city and the Fvillah himself. He fumed in anger and wondered why the orbital defenses had failed as well. The ship should have been shot down long before it ever got near his residence or the city. He wanted explanations, from both Galae as well as his own ships. Why had the ships hrrau orbit not attacked or given chase?

“Bring me Daise’Khre’Riov tr’Vatrix!! He has much to answer for this day!”
