The Honeymoon

[Joint log between the love birds.]

After finishing her breakfast, Mimi stood up from the table and walked a few steps towards the beach. “It’s a beautiful morning Aelabi, shall we take a walk on the beach?” All she could do was stare at the horizon and smile.

He stepped over to his bride and extended his arm. They slipped out onto the sands for a beautiful sunrise while the water’s splashed up on their bare feet. Romance was on the agenda, and Aegis wasn’t on either’s mind. The island was nearly empty, say for the servants that scattered anytime the couple did not need their services.

After returning to their beach house and taking a nap for a couple hours, Mimi was freshening up. “Love, what do you feel like doing,” she asked.

“It does na matter; au are my e’lev, my heart, my vision. Au are my wife and I will do whatever aus heart desires.”

“I feel like shopping. Maybe add a few things to our quarters. Besides, I noticed that you have a, shall we say, lack of civilian clothing,” she said.

He nearly squirmed when she said that. “I do na need civilian clothing. I am proud to honor the RSE with my uniform, and when I am with au in our quarters, I do not need that.” He walked over and gave her a passionate kiss. “If au want shopping, we can do that on our way back to Aegis. There are planets with shopping; here, the selections are vague.”

Mimi nodded to her husband, “Then what shall we do in the mean time?”

“Rest... love au... or go for a swim in the ocean? We could order lunch, go for a swim, and it would be ready when we return.” He lifts up Mimi’s new bathing suit, waggling it in front of her. “What if au put this on, and we can see how it fares in the water.”

“Well then, order us some lunch and I’ll go change,” she said with smile, before turning and heading to the bathroom to change.

The luncheon he ordered was quite a spread on the beach in front of the house, was ready when they returned from a leisurely swim. There were blankets and cushions laid out in a semi-circle, and short-legged tables around the perimeter, covered in high piles of fresh fruits, vegetables and seafood prepared in entertaining designs. They played with their food on the blankets for hours under the shade of the palms overhead.

There was no discussion of the sister wives to come, no stress of Aegis and the many troubles, no thoughts of the billions of people slaughtered on ch’Rihan. The gentle breezes, the delicate smells, the love between them was all they surrounded themselves in for the rest of their honeymoon.
