Yes, we are experiencing some problems with the startrek.com rooms again tonight.  You can look for your scheduled sim at the STSF emergency backup rooms - http://www.stsf.net/chat - then pick your room, either Holodeck or Ready Room.

Hey there,

As a computer technician, you'd be shocked to know how many times that will actually work Willingham. ;)

Always worked for me. When I give advice to people, I say, "If all else fails, get out the sledge hammer or get a strong person to destroy your computer." In other words, "If all else fails, I can't help you."

i don't know about destroying the computer but a good kick/punch/slap/group of swear words will usually get it going again ;)

LOL - In 94 I had an old Macintosh (even by 94 standards) and I really did have to bang it on it's side to get it to work!

I'm on a different computer today, but when I'm on my main computer, I have an external modem. That means you can actually slam it and not the computer when the Internet is not working. 'Course if it's IE, Netscape (especially 7.1), MSN (best chance of locking up all the time), then I do it to the computer.

I have another computer, Vanroy, which is as old as 1988! Plus it has no modem, the CD-ROM drive is shot, it only has a 486 (one of the pre-Pentium proccesors), and it only has 8 MB of RAM, which means you can't run most anything on it!

Atragon has you beet with his Commodore... that's really old. ::smirk::

I have an old IBM sitting in my room.... a PS-I (or something like that).  I rarely use it. However, it does have one of the first versions of Microsoft Works on it, and has "Where in the United States is Carmen Sandiego?" and "Scooter's Magic Castle." ;) Geesh.... I feel like I'm getting old.
