Captains Personal Log 2259.357

"Captains Personal Log, Stardate 2259.357, Ashton Calestorm Recording…

Task Force Alpha is a couple of days into our mission, and ah'm pleased to report that we are proceeding according to the tactical path. We'll arrive at our assigned patrol coordinates within two hours, and will overlap with Task Force Charlie in the next six hours after that.

There are the usual concerns regarding the possible Romulan activity along the borders. Crew moral is as expected - cautious yet optimistic.

With regard to the holiday seasons, ah do realize it can be difficult for us to be deployed at this time. My people are nothing if not creative, and ah've noted that there are quiet preparations being made in observance of any number of seasonal beliefs as expected with a blended crew such as this.

As for the, ah, makeshift celebration tree erected in the main crew lounge…apparently, some delinquents borrowed my collection of model starfighters from the Ready Room to decorate said tree. I've informed the parties I suspect of organizing this little caper that I expect the models to be returned to my office as soon as the celebration has passed.

….ah will admit the fighter miniatures look pretty on the Christmas tree…and yeah, ah said Christmas. This is my personal log, and I can say Scrooge you to the politically correct stuff if I dang well want to.

My final item of note is our current flagship command situation. Captain James Kirk has settled in quite well as flagship commander to this task force assignment.

On a personal note, I do have concerns – as a friend – for Rear Admiral Coyote. She is very good at what she does, and a good officer to have at your back.

…Shauna is not taking kindly to the establishment of the Regular Fleets USS Enterprise as the Alpha flagship. She has always been aggressive with regard to what she considers her command territory, and the Border Patrols First Threat Response program is definitely her territory.

I have spoken with her about this and managed to talk her down...At this point, I don't feel as if we'll have any more issues and ah know the Admiral is as professional an officer as they come.

…end recording. Time stamp and triple encrypt Calestorm Omega Tango Four Four Seven Six, retinal scan access required..."
