The training ship, USS Iowa (Akira Class), is patrolling the border between Federation and uncharted space.

There have been reports of small craft incursions, species unknown.

Although there have been no attacks or incidents that would cause alarm, Starfleet and its allies have decided to initiate a low key patrol, a show of force, to keep anything from happening.
