LeftEar JoNs

Orders

Chirakis -> This button is a summons that only I will hear. Should anything happen that is a dire emergency - and I do mean *dire* - And there is no other way to contact me, you are to press that button. Does that put your mind at ease, Commander?

LeftEar JoNs -> Understood.

= = = =

After her clandestine meeting in the turbo lift – and really, didn’t the best clandestine meetings usually happen in the weirdest of places? – with her commanding officer, Commander Left Ear JoNs had retired to her assigned quarters on board the Revenge. It wouldn’t do for her to hang around on the bridge, antagonizing G.W.*, and the felinoid set about making herself scarce yet available should the need arise.

….like a nova event within a star system? That was a pretty big need.

Allied forces had responded to the APB sent out, to assist with possible evacuations. The Romulan government and political leaders worked to avoid a planetary panic, taking situational updates as they came in over secure channels. There was also some hesitation to employ the response ships.

JoNs knew the basics of the species: the Romulans were a proud people, stubborn. A unique code of honor involved equal parts devotion to family, personal commitments, and cunning. As warriors, they were slick as much as they were deadly.

A proud species, yes, but JoNs knew things could get dicey if there was a planetary panic. There was no telling what Chirakis was walking into down there.

She rolled the emergency transmit button over in her paw, her mood contemplative…Chirakis had given specific orders to summon her if the need was ‘dire’, and not before. Problem was, Left Ear had decided to use the device preemptively - if she thought things were going to go south, to borrow a phrasing from the Humans, she was going to activate it.

The dark furred Caitian snorted softly to herself. She really wasn’t the type of officer to deviate at all from direct orders. When exactly had I started thinking like my god kitten? And there’s a scary thought.

Her 21 year old cousin and god child was completing final academy studies prior to a first midshipman tour. Mrrett JoNs, known as ‘Kansas’ to her friends, had a rather…unique outlook on life. Jump first, think later, that sort of thing. Hopefully she won’t end up dead by age 30...

Unlike her cousin, the felinoid knew that Chirakis could take care of herself. Didn’t know all the details of the woman’s career, but knew enough that the commanding officer of Sky Harbor Aegis had mad SI Five* skills.

SI Five or not, Commander JoNs still felt the Aegis CO was her watch, and therefore her responsibility. It just wasn’t an easy feeling for a security officer to ignore.
